Speaking of Cane, I wonder what they end up doing with him, lol.  I put this in the other thread about Loren being let, go but he could have been a romantic option for Ana. Though that may have been to the disdain of many, lol.  He might go down to one episode a month like he did after they put an end to a romance with Cane/Victoria.

ICAM.  Fish, as always, stinks from the head.  If there's racism and colorism going on BTS, it's because those at the top (Griffith, Kent, McDaniel, Morina) are encouraging it.

No doubt, when DG said he pitched storyline ideas to the higher-ups, they all involved him being a hero who saves everything and everyone from total ruin.

Speaking of encouraging foolishness, the viewer also has had a part in this.  I've seen too many excusing of mediocre writing and horrible decision-making over the past eight, nine years.   I didn't watch much of MAB's writing (if that's what you want to call it) tenure... hell, I've taken breaks during each of the past 3, 4 writing regimes but I've always heard numerous complaints of each writing regime but somehow the picture always seems to get rosier with distance, maybe people's memories aren't so good.

The writing has stunk for years.  Anyone who needs proof, just dip into the Classics thread and watch an episode from the 80s or 90s.  But I think there is a definite change, a trend downward over the last few years and from what I'm seeing, it's irreversible at this point.

This is conjecture on my part but I really think that black viewership has been steadily eroding over the past year.  Do I think that it's only black viewers who are dropping the show?  Of course not, but black women were loyal viewers for decades and those massive ratings drops are coming from somewhere.  I expect the drops to continue.  Good for Y&R, they deserve it.

I wonder if Cait may be the next one out the door. Her and Mariah haven't been shown that much at all lately. They have been shown maybe three times in the past three weeks. I also wonder if she will be put in the opening credits now. Loren was put in them, even though she was let go.

I think the show might keep her, but that she will rarely be shown. Right now her and Mariah are happy together, but barely shown. I think they might continue do that for the characters. Though, this could definitely end up affecting CM/Mariah's airtime as well. But maybe they will show her doing things like interacting with Sharon even more instead of interacting as much with Tessa.

That would be great. But I doubt it will happen because this show continues to shove Lola and her boring, sanctimonious/overly propped character on the viewers.  But I would love to see Kyle and Mariah. I've always liked them together ever since they first interacted after MM Kyle's came onboard.

I liked Loren Lott as Ana a lot, and she got a raw deal. For that matter, so did Zach Tinker as Fen. Those two were good together.

Zach Tinker is a better actor than the guy who plays Theo. I’m ok with Theo, because a bad boy is needed, but he’s honestly not the actor Tinker is. Apparently Josh G doesn’t care.

Kyle and Mariah in a relationship? No. I don’t see it at all. They belong as friends.

    • Now coming into June...well...   I knew it was coming but I didn't like the start to the next round of Dani/Bill/Hayley. As the 3 A plots from the start of the show (The SilkPress storyline and Martin's Secret being the other two), it needed to be benched for a while to develop those characters and allow other characters and storylines to grow. 3 months in, Hayley is the weak link, Dani is still divisive, but not boring, and Bill has been making his mark with some plots faster than others. So last week seeing the story starting to loop back around to them with Hayley's potential pregnancy, I honestly had mixed feelings.   I get it. The SilkPress storyline is currently in aftermath/next turn mode, so it has to be moved into a C plot position. Moreso if we want to keep the very talented Miss Trish around. And I love how clever the writers are being with the storyline. They give us enough in the episodes and are still playing out beats to keep the appetite fed. I don't feel like anyone is being dumbed down to keep her around. And Trish is giving nuances in her alone scenes with NuTed. I shouldn't care for a clear psycho, but she be selling it. That said...I wish they had given us a little more of the Martin's Secret storyline in the last week of the month though I loved the game of cat and mouse Bill did on Martin and Smitty to keep the storyline alive and active after it had a nice build beginning of May and vanished for a week mid-May. And it appears like it's about to go back to the backburner as an A plot which of course leaves the A plot of Dani/Bill/Hayley.   I am probably in the minority as someone who is not anti-Dani here and even she annoyed the heck out of me last week. In character true, but I just felt like there was a way to get all of that across without it feeling like...as I've said before...one step forward, two steps back...and have it feel organic. I liked Hayley got a little bit of edge with her, but she still ain't no match for Dani. And it reminds to be seen if we should be going back to that well of a story yet.   Now about today's show...   And I thought Tracy was bad! lol. But YES. Sharon has been worth the wait. And so has Anita's story! Finally having TT in the limelight. This has been a nice slow burn for me and a nice B plot. And the actress is good. The wig is giving. And her holding what Anita's secret is over her head and threatening to tell Vernon....Ooooo...that is what I was waiting for.    And speaking of bad...I thought Eva vs Kat was a great rivalry. But I am loving the rivalry that is growing with 'Nancy Drew' and Silk Press Sheila! They both get good licks in and are so cunning with each other. And I definitely have liked that since the anniversary party, that it has been growing. Now that Kat has been proven right, she has not backed down. And neither has SilkPress. And we got a 'Ms. B@tch' moment, too? LOVE. Eva coming up with a trump card was delicious and so 90s Sami Brady. GOOD. And the coda with Jacob and the expert...YES. The Silk Press storyline has been the best paced on the show so I love that the aftermath of the anniversary party continues to be so...barring one flaw...well for me. Not enough Nicole's POV.   And I like the C plots on display. And by that, I mean Chelsea with Vernon. And it made me wonder what the writers have plan for her love life now that the throuple is over with. I was watching her and going awww.   And of course the mystery man around Martin. I am starting to wonder if he really even works at the country club given how he made a run for it. That would be a twist.    Speaking of Martin...good to see him in scenes with his father and mother.    I'm getting used to NuTed.    I felt the last episode of May was a bit of a letdown, but this was a very nice recovery.
    • Unless they cut him, I'd think he would stay. Surely, he didn't choose to return because he expected high quality. I figure he gets to work when he wants and spend a lot of time doing his own thing and being with his family.
    • The writing for Liz and Lucky is indeed terrible, but if JJ signed a one-year contract he may be gone in a couple of months anyway. Perhaps they’re just cutting their losses.
    • That would be his older sister Stacey. She was the center of a big story back in the day. Nola was out to snag medical student Kelly Nelson, who she thought would provide her with the life she craved. He was in love with a girl named Morgan. Nola plotted to get pregnant by him, but couldn't manage to get him in bed. So she seduced Floyd, who thought she was in love with him. When she knew she was pregnant, she got Kelly drunk and made sure he woke up next to her in bed. Kelly believed her when she told him he made her pregnant. They were about to elope to Las Vegas, but her mother ratted her out and Kelly abandoned her. She almost married Floyd, but jilted him at the altar. She went to work for Quint. When the baby came prematurely, Kelly saved both of them. She named the baby Kelly Louise to irk Morgan, who was now married to Kelly. When she fell in love with Quint, she had a change of heart over all the trouble she had caused, so she changed the baby's name to Anastasia Louise, shortened to Stacey. Quint was a devoted stepfather and Henry treated her like his own granddaughter.  After Quint and Nola leave SF, I believe Stacey is never seen again. Which is odd, you would think they would have brought her back with Nola and J, but they never did.

    • The counts seem small even for B&B. Thanks for posting!
    • Sooo Nick is inviting Sharon to France for this Dumas party thing. The same place they reconnected years ago during the Shick/Phick years. I wonder if it’s going to be on location? I’m going to assume not. I’m sure Y&R doesn’t have that kind of budget anymore.
