Thanks for the clip. It was a rewrite. I dont see why Maya would lie about being pregnant in that scene. I dont see why that would matter more than her just telling the truth that she fell in love with and raised her bf's baby.

They won't have Rick throw up. That would be incredibly offensive. I do think he should be angry. Who wouldn't be? Maya went on and on about how she was so honest with Rick while Caroline was a liar so, Rick should feel betrayed. She knew that he wanted children. I don't really have an opinion about Rick and Maya being together in the future. I wouldn't see Rick as less of a man if he stays with her as long as they have it out first.

After Wed great cliffhanger the two episodes following have been a bust IMO. I don't know if its the acting or writing or both. The actress who plays Nicole is doing a good job though. The whole Rick comments about Maya being a real woman was blah…..just blah writing…no need for that…since he had never talked that way about her….

This story better pick up steam because I think they should have gone the route I wanted them to instead. The whole Rick taking over Forrester and Rick/Maya vs Ridge/Caroline is a distant memory too which is what got me hooked to the show again…and now thats gone.

Right. Plus, Bill would have done extensive background checks into Maya, and it would be obvious her name wasn't on the baby's birth certificate and she had applied for legal guardianship. I'm also not so sure that she, as legal guardian but not a legal parent, would have any ability to give the baby up for adoption (but maybe the adoption was illegal). Not to mention you'd think Bill would have found out that Maya changed her name and amended her own birth certificate... oh well. That scene kind of invalidates the whole story tbh.

I think they tried the rewrite in late-January when $Bill had the weird one-off visit to see Maya and threatened her with the truth. Again, this story will rise or go down in flames with the writing - KM/JY are perfectly capable of handling complex, nuanced material. RE is too new to make that assessment. However, when I see Rick suddenly gushing about Maya's honesty and being all-woman, it's quite an insult to the viewer and the integrity of the story. Um, Rick was all hot for Maya 2+ years ago and again six months ago - there was never a question of attraction both physically and mentally.

They did! Last Wednesday's eppy almost broke the internet, but I have not heard much since. That only means the story is failing right out of the starting gate. If the scenes were powerful enough, the viewers would not be worrying about the child because they'd be so engrossed in what's happening. The child could have been explained at a later date, but I guess moRon C does inspire folks after all (let Twitter noise influence your garbage). Maya is calmly telling her story, and that just aint soapy enough. It's a 5 minute PSA!

I'm surprised mostly because people aren't saying it's because of Brooke...

Anyway, Brad Bell's a terrible writer and always will be. At least it got some buzz, and hopefully they won't have Rick get drunk and call her slurs and shoot at her.

Well, I've been calling at the horrible Brooke story since the weddiing. Plus, the couple of weeks (in B&B time) to going to an AA meeting was beyond ridiculous to me. And, yeah, Brooke's insta-alcoholic who is self-aware is just strange. This story should have been phased in over months with small incidents, etc. instead Brad has moved Brooke into a triangle -definitely his and KKL's 'safe' zone.

The above story is why I was so concerned about the potential irreversible damage to the Maya character. It took so long to get a diverse woman in a meaty role and it could all be washed away by a gimmick. I hope not. I really do. Anyway, I would love to be proven wrong!
