January 9, 201412 yr Member I know it's about royalties, but ABC has nothing to do with iTunes or HULU
January 9, 201412 yr Member It sounds like there is some confusion by either the plaintiff or the author regarding ABC's responsibilities in this. Edited January 9, 201412 yr by marceline
January 9, 201412 yr Member Well.. Interesting, it's not like when the Dobsons sued ABC, but still interesting
January 9, 201412 yr Member Well.. Interesting, it's not like when the Dobsons sued ABC, but still interesting So the Dobsons actually won? I thought they never went to court.
January 9, 201412 yr Member Why in the hell would Sam Hall be owed royalties by anyone? He hasn't worked on OLTL in over thirty years. Edited January 9, 201412 yr by Vee
January 9, 201412 yr Member I believe the iTunes episodes of AMC and OLTL were the first time full episodes of either show were actually available for purchase (which, in and of itself, is a tragedy of epic proportions).

January 9, 201412 yr Member I would imagine Itunes/Hulu would pay royalties to ABC who would then pay a portion of those royalties to whoever is due. But this case makes zero sense unless Hall is owed royalties in perpetuity, like intellectual property of some sort. Perhaps it was in his contract? They're not selling/showing episodes from 1984, are they?
