If Sarah Brown or Sarah Buxton join Y&R I may actually have to watch it. I loved Claudia despite the writing.

Ugh. Unfortunately I agree. I love Amelia Heinle and I'm glad she's steadily employed. I want to believe that a good actor can overcome bad writing...but if the dialogue is less interesting than surveillance footage from Piccadilly, what are they supposed to do?

I will agree that Claudia rocked until she fell for Sonny's magic peen!

I remember this, and I was confused by what she was thinking. If she had a problem with Claudia wanting to have Sonny's baby, Sarah had my vote. But to be upset because a mafia princess is acting as such? Made no sense. She was upset when Michael got shot even though he was not the target. Exactly what did Sarah expect a mobster was going to be doing?

Bree Williamson is talented but very limited. When she had material on OLTL she was genuinely good at she often didn't like it. They played to her and the writers' interests, but they left the character radioactive and destroyed Jessica's former position as the future heir to Viki. That role is all Melissa Archer and Natalie's now, should the show return.

Sarah Brown gave it her all but Claudia was a flop. A huge flop. That's on the writing and on the fact that she should not have been there playing someone else to begin with. She should've been Carly. She should still be Carly.

Amelia Heinle was wonderful on Loving and The City twenty years ago but she is not a lead actress. Period. They should've handed Victoria Newman off to someone else years ago if Heather Tom doesn't want the part anymore, but they keep Heinle because she is softer, and makes the character more malleable for conventional ABC-style storytelling with a strong female character the management was uncomfortable with.

Laura Wright just renewed her contract and ABC loves her. I have never been a Wright but she is very popular and she owns this part now. Sarah hasn't played the part in nearly 13 years. I think Sarah is a strong actress but I will say will blame alot of the writing and poor characters on her flopping on these other soaps.

Bree Williamson is a bonefide soap star ala Vanessa Marcil but not nearly as big. Clearly not the best actress but she has charisma in spades and honestly she would be a great Mac on Y&R. Sexy, fiery and she and David Tom would have chemistry. U need a former soap actress has major sex appeal in spades.

    • But she's a DUPREE and that makes her immune to any and everything!
    • About the only thing that could really get me interested in this show right now would be a "Who Killed Victor?" storyline IF he stayed dead. The writing for him is atrocious! And the lineup of possible suspects would be most of the canvas. Months worth of great story if done well.....of course...not getting done with Griffith.
    • I really hope you’re wrong. Dani Desperate Dupree being right will make her even more insufferable than she’s already been.
    • I know this board has very strong opinions about Scheffer's reign which run the gamut from brilliant to the nadir of the series.  I'm one of the fans. 2001 - 2005 are, imo, the second best years for the series. The first being Marland.  As The World Turns won Daytime Emmy Awards for Best Drama Series in '87 and '91. However, it wasn't until Scheffer came along that it won again...in '01 and '03. Plus it won for Best Writing Team in '01, '02, '04, and '05, an award it had never managed to win before and didn't again. When Scheffer left and Passanante was the main head writer (along with various other co-head writers) the show began to seriously tank. However, it wasn't just the writing. The budget was gone. The sets were made to be smaller or destroyed. There was all that weird hand held camera directing for a while. Scenes that were obviously shot in the hallway where the series was filmed. I think '06 - '10 is a roller coaster. There are some storylines I really enjoyed and some that were eye-rolling. Looking in the rearview mirror though, I can see that the actors, writers, directors, and crew were working their best with what money they had.
    • They are idiots! It seems crazy that Leslie is inserting herself so much into this investigation but everybody is falling into her traps. I find it to be an interesting back and forth and I'm still not completely sure who will win. I have a theory but I'm going to wait for more to develop before I say more. I feel like Haley has been more on the sidelines so I'm enjoying this new desperate streak she appears to be developing. I'm curious how it'll manifest overtime. I also agree with Dani that I am not convinced she's pregnant. I think she's trying to get pregnant but really just see's herself fading into the background and wants attention and validation from Dani and her family.
    • Thanks for sharing; the set, wow. Ten times better than the "penthouse" she lives in now (is that a surprise, though?).
    • I'd be happy to!

I just read the intro and first chapter and I'm already hooked. I know she had a co-author, but I can tell Kim is a firecracker and I'd love to have wine with her and talk sh!t haha. It makes reading the book pretty easy and entertaining. Intro - I had no idea she got a DUI! She shared 3 bottles of wine with a friend at dinner one night in LA, got in her car, was pulled over and thrown in jail overnight.  She admitted it wasn't her first time drinking and driving, but learned a valuable lesson that night. Out of the gate, she's not holding back or hiding anything. Chapter 1 - the announcement that GL was being cancelled. She was driving to Peapack and got a call from Bradley Cole who told her the news. First, that's BS that as one of the faces of GL, you hear the big news from a fellow co-star on your way to work. Granted, the "suits" were traveling to Peapack that day to tell the cast and crew, but still, seems icky. Ironically the news came on April Fools Day. Apparently that was the last day the network could decide whether to cancel or renew, but to Kim's point, couldn't they just pick the day before to avoid the callousness of the 'holiday'. Obviously a sad day in GL history. I thought it was funny, she said the one thing she thought of is "what would Susan Lucci do" in this situation, post-cancellation. And of course she said she'd "find something to hawk on the Home Shopping Network"  You all would know better than me, but part of the title of her book is "seven husbands" and in her intro, she uses Reva's full name: Reva Shayne-Lewis-Lewis-Spaulding-Lewis-Winslow-Cooper-Lewis-Lewis-O'Neill.  However, in the first chapter, she said Bradley Cole was "her 8th (or was it 9th?) husband". Well, Kim, that already contradicts the title of your book and your character's name you touted.
