I enjoyed Lois and Clark the first season, but then TPTB downplayed the relationships and characterization, and the show turned pedestrian and campy. IMHO, of course. I did not make it through the second year.

That's about how I was. Teri Hatcher checked out of her part (and became frighteningly thin) and the show decided to just spend every week reuniting cast members of a random show from 1982 rather than writing a script.

Um....P&G probably threw away the VHS tapes (as I threw away 300+ cassettes I was holding onto 2 years ago) and, with the push of a few buttons, can digitally erase every digital ATWT files. It cracks me up at the lengths people will go to on this board to hold on to the delusion P&G's soaps will ever see the light of day.

And, no, Colleen didn't tell me they just wiped ATWT. They wiped GL, SFT, AW...every soap opera they had. Someone high up in the parent company (because the company that made the soaps, P&G entertainment, hasn't existed for over a decade) has such a hatred of soap operas, they wanted to delete everything they had. It made them feel better. That's what small, petty, corporate American people do. I've known many of them. Men with tiny d!cks that want to prove their power.

Whether Colleen is right or not and of course I hope she's not, I don't think anybody is delusional to think we're going to see these soaps via streaming, dvd or reboots. We've heard of multiple people trying to license them and they refused. Hell, John James recently revealed he tried to license ATWT presumably for a reboot with his friend Chris Goutman. They turned him down and they turned RetroTV down, which wanted to add the P&G soaps to their streaming service with The Doctors. That is what I'm most sad about. Can you imagine how cool that would've been? I also think the app would've exploded with success potentially having so many soaps on it. If long forgotten The Doctors is doing well, adding more recognizable soaps like ATWT, GL and AW would've definitely been a draw for them.

It really collapsed quickly, alas.

So unbelievably frustrating.

This seems like projection based on your own understandable resentments over the soaps being gone, but do you and mock us as you like. I personally don't think anyone left at P&G gives two [!@#$%^&*] one way or the other to spend the time and expenditure to wipe their rather vast library. I think much of it's either in a garbage dump somewhere, or in some dusty room out of the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. YMMV.

Are the rare uploads sticking around on YouTube lately? Remember the 'purge' a year ago or so? Siiigh. I'm so grateful to those who upload old episodes.

Didn't P&G release years of episodes on YT in 2008?? That's how I watched AW.

And if P&G doesn't care... why do they bother taking down other people's VHS rips?

It is probably not P&G complaining to YouTube about copyright infringement.  It is likely just some individual copyright nazi, who likes to see copyrighted material taken down.  ANYONE can register a copyright infringement complaint with Youtube -- not just the copyright owner.  And Youtube will remove the questionable material, no matter who makes the complaint.

There are all sorts of cranks and trolls on YT who hunt this stuff. I suspect some are just dedicated trolls who haunt boards like ours and use them to keep tabs.

I've also been worried about YouTube suddenly taking down all of these old episodes.  As a result, I've been downloading the videos I want and storing them on DropBox.  I use this free website to download to my computer: https://yt5s.com/en120/youtube-to-mp4

I agree completely.

Or crazymakers, as I refer to them.

Ah, thank you. I was downloading about a year-ish/two years ago and got behind. I need to find the episodes I have.
