I liked it and all. But it suuuure left a bad taste in my mouth.

 

Well I can't say that the Jen Arrest storyline isn't giving me everything that BH EricFake's storyline did not. Either Jen is truly delusive to be still filming it all or she is truly pulling a page (or ten) from the SERIAL MOM playbook. Which if she is, she will be riding this storyline all the way to trial and making it a spectacular mess. Which if that is the route she is going...wow that is just insane. Could she get off just like Katleen Turner's character got off just by turning the audience's perception? Or perhaps I am just giving Jen's cleverness too much credit. Then again, we know Bravo is ride-or-die for her to get all that footage so total possible. I mean...she actually got on camera and said Stu did it all. She got on camera and talked about her kids in the FBI coming to the house. And there she was again trying to talk to her husband about being upset. She is not innocent...and to me it appears she is acting (her tell being how camera conscious she is now...looking at it every chance she gets)...but darn it if she is not acting CIIIIIIIRCLEESSSSS around Ms. Jayne. 

 

The bad taste for me watching was two fold. Part of it was the girls' reactions to Jen's arrest. On one hand, it's one of the best parts of the Jen Arrest storyline. We all wanted the reactions. The aftermath. And the aftermath for sure is giving as it should as we are getting all of the girls' reaction. But on the other hand...outside of Mary and Jeannie, I find myself finding the girls' reactions (sorry Fabulous Ice) extremely two faced. I am completely off Whitney's bandwagon. Heather I cannot decide if I think she is being Jen's ride-or-die because she is her friend or camera time. And each of them (outside of Mary and Jeannie) have no problem throwing someone else under the bus to be in Jen's favor. Perhaps next week's mess will clear this up in my mind, but I don't know who to trust. 

 

And speaking of Mary...more of the bad taste continued. 'Is Mary's church a cult?' most definitely has turned into the other main storyline. Nothing like a Rose scorned I guess. But it also has showed how hypocritical they are. Let us coddle Jen when there are more facts and apparent receipts, but let us witch hunt Mary on hearsay...oh and because she can gather these hoes with the quickness. Given Mary is kooky, it just feels like people attacking the 'other' and as an other...yeeeeeh no. If we are going to be attacking Mary, let us keep that same energy for Jen. JS.

 

 JEN. Such an oddity at the moment. Yeah, it was nice to see her feel pain for her family. On the other hand, I could never quite tell if she was in pain because she got caught or if she was in genuine pain. She still was taking no accountability, yet she did seem in pain. At least she has things (her kids, her husband) to keep her appearing human. That said...wow. Throwing Stu under the bus. My jaw dropped. How far will she go? Not looking forward to seeing Season 1 Jen (Ms. Rage Machine) coming back, but I can't say I'm bored with her yet.

 

HEATHER. Unlike THIS ONE. Was she really just being the ride-or-die or just wanting to get some payback on Fabulous Ice? They both have no problem running to Jen with the quickness to tatter tale on the other. Honestly, I would say she's the latter now since she does not even seem to be believe Jen and side-eyes her each and every time Jen pleads innocence. And I was right there with her though when Jen threw Stu under the bus.

LISA. HAHAHAHAHAH!!!! Fabulous Ice ain't wrong. People stay pressed on her. See Heather see Jen for the first time since the arrest and throwing her under the bus. See Little Girl bringing her up every chance she gets. I was sorry to see the rift between Meredith and her grow wider, but she really has no one to blame, but herself at this point. Like has been mentioned, she is trying to play both sides of the fence. And even I can admit that her attempts to do so...are not fabulous at all. In fact, she needs to own it even more than Little Girl does at this point. 

 

MEREDITH. Was she there? lol. But seriously, outside of reminding people she is not friends with Jen, she was just comic relief. Which was funny. Here are all the girls falling on their swords for Jen/Mary...and she...was out walking her dog. Not a care in the world. #bossmoves

 

JEANNIE. I always enjoy her family life. Otherwise...was it me or was she already setting up for a feud with Meredith once she is done with this Mary attack?

 

MARY. I wonder how they will feel about her when we get to the part of filming when the law comes looking for that runaway? Now THAT would be proof of something where again she does not appear she is in the wrong. Nothing to really say on her except I'm looking forward to her next week.

 

Overall, it really was a good episode, but...the toxicity was peeking through. 

 

RHOM

 

Confessional: No matter what tv system I had, when I did bingeing on Season 2, the system always glitched on the Lisa lingerie party episodes. I guess it was due to it being the same title...easily resolved with a Part 1 and Part 2, but you know Bravo love their typos. So...I got to see Part 1 today. lol. But...Part 2 is GONE. smh. For now I hope and not some ridiculous Bravo mandate. 

 

So I also saw those first 5 minutes...

I was just watching that part of Episode 1, Season 2 earlier so chills.

 

I loved everything about the first 5 minutes. I think we all know Season 2 was itself a reboot so the fact Season 4 opens similarly is perfection. LAS CUBAS ARE BACK IN THE MOTHERFRAKKING HOUSE!!! And the Miami scenery porn was off the charts already.

 

I like how they set up for Larsa's return.

 

If anything I wish Adriana still had jet-black hair, but I'm sure she still has fire. And I am curious to see how she is now cuz while pretty she still is...she was giving RHOA S8 Sheree (as in not as wealthy as she was in early RHOA) vibe with that dress.

Wow! The only ended up uploading 2 episodes of Miami instead of 3 and I decided to watch the first one. Excellent, excellent reboot. If you haven't seen the first three seasons you'll be fine. They do a good job of re-introducing the older cast members and flashbacks fill in the necessary gaps. It's easy to figure out where everybody fits in the puzzle. The first episode is also 54 minutes, so it has room to breathe.

The Newbies: 

They did a brilliant job with casting. All of the new girls work and their pictures don't do them justice because they are GORGEOUS. All have diverse backgrounds, big, beautiful homes, good style and clearly lots of money. I also like that they all have families and spouses that film with them. Guerdy is very confident and outspoken. I loved seeing her run her photoshoot and I loved that she did her own makeup for Larsa's party. Julia is super sweet and stunning to look at. I love how she can go from a farm to glam, but she isn't overdone. She is very classy and I don't get the sense she's trying too hard. Nicole is a big surprise for me. I expected her to be boring and not fit in, but she's also very outspoken and I loved her home and her family.

The Vets:

Adriana - This is Adriana's show 100%. If she didn't return this episode wouldn't have worked. She is incredibly smart and so well spoken and the shade just glides out of her mouth. She was fabulous in every scene she appeared in, looks better than ever and the frenemy relationship was great! I still find it shameful she was only a friend. It's very odd seeing so much focus on her and Julia's only connection to the group is Adriana. 

Marysol - This was Marysol at her best. I always have liked her, but upon re-watching season 3 she gave off such a desperate and pathetic performance that it was such a turn off. It's nice to see that she is back, refreshed and has finally found her voice. Her plastic surgery and style has improved and she now comes off as more of a leader for the group. 

Lisa - I didn't like Lisa originally, I didn't like her on my re-watch and I still don't like her. She doesn't have much personality and doesn't have much of a voice. If she weren't as rich as she were she wouldn't be holding a Mojito. You can tell Lenny is bored with her now that he got what he wanted which was the kids. She doesn't have an interesting relationship with any of the women either. She's just taking up space.

Alexia - I know people complain she isn't the most exciting, but she's an important HW for this franchise and I love that she has such a soap opera-esque story arc. It was so nice to see Frankie again, to hear about Peter and see her openness about Herman and his gay lover. The one thing I found cringeworthy was how she kept shaming Larsa for having an OnlyFans. Her opinion was valid, but the way she kept going on about it felt very aggressive and almost jealous.

Larsa - Eh. She is more vapid that she was before, but she did a good job of working herself back into the group. I'm not mad at it. She's not the best of the bunch, but you get the sense she'll give enough to justify her Mojito. As I mentioned earlier, I love the relationship with Adriana and I'm curious to see where she will land in the group and who she will be close with. I'm glad she threw the first party and got to properly show off her mansion, which we didn't get in season one. She needed to prove she could fit in the Season 2+ world and she did.

Overall I'd say this was a hugely successful reboot and it looks like it'll be interesting enough to keep us invested week after week. I think that's why Peacock didn't release the third episode so they can stretch this out more. I predict it'll do very well for them and that they will get to do more Housewives series. Considering how well they did here, I would highly recommend allowing them to either launch a new city or another reboot. Peacock gets HWs in a way that Bravo doesn't. There is a freshness that I'd love to see more of.

@Chris B hold up!!!! Who hates on Cuban Barbie? She has ALWAYS been a walking soap opera, but fascinating to watch.

 

Perhaps Adriana is a friend so she can play off Larsa in a way to get that mojito back.

 

And I suspect the same as you about holding back Episode 3. From what I saw yesterday on Twitter, A LOT of people got caught up to speed on RHOM because they wanted to see this reboot so a lot of people now are interested in a way they were not at the time. So Peacock knows moderation is key.

MIAMI is back!

Alexia talking about the gay rumors surrounding her ex-husband but I got that vibe from her new man too.

Guerdy is beautiful. I love tha she is also giving me fashions. Im digging her so far.

YES to Kiki checking Marisol. Dont come for her!

I hate all the slut and body shaming that they are doing to Larsa, especially Adrianna and her hating ass self. Larsa is confident with herself and I cant hate on that

Im glad Lisa got the family she wanted but I was waiiting for her to explain where those kids came from. Did she give birth to them? Surrogate? Were someone else's eggs used? The fertility problems were suc a big part of her storyline last we saw her and they kinda glossed over this.

Julia seems a bit too normal to be a housewife but Im here for her being the first lesbian housewife. She seems nice

RHUGT:  How many episodes are there? I've only seen 7 episodes post, plus the WWHL episode with all the cast on zoom. Surely there's more? Unless I was hitting the wine too hard on episode 7, I don't remember a conclusion.

Thoughts on Miami:

 

I've missed these ladies so much. I am just elated to have them back. I still get p*ssed that Bravo canceled this show when all they needed was a simple reboot like now back them. 

 

Why aren't Kiki, Adriana, and Marysol holding mojitos?! They all delivered in the first episode. This cast could've handled 9 women. Quite honestly, I am over "friends" on these shows. Just stack the cast with 7-10 women and go from there. 

 

I like the newbies (Guerdy, Julia, and Nicole). They all provide the glitz and glamor that is needed in Miami. I cannot wait to watch their journeys throughout this process. 

 

Lisa and Lenny... awkward. Lenny's face tells it all and he is over his fembot/creation. I feel like this is gonna bubble and boil into something chaotic in future seasons. 

 

Alexia is gonna emerge the star this season. Funny because Alexia was the least dramatic in the first three seasons.
