The media is rife with "strong father" issues. They would be happy to have Pence in as he ticks their boxes. He also hates many of the same people they have disdain for (women, gays). If they are saying the media is biding their time to get him into office and make him their new hero, I wouldn't be surprised. And once it happens there will be a full-court press, with Chuck Todd and friends gushing all the way as we are put back in our cages and never let out.

This is a terrible story.

"Food stamps will likely go unfunded this month; workers will fail to make mortgage payments. Trump might not be able to find the cash to pay the agents who keep his family safe, but he has the cash to send longtime law-abiding residents to their likely doom. His priorities are perfectly clear".

I'm surprised that there hasn't been more made of AMI's role into the investigation of Jeff Bezos, owner of the Washington Post (amongst other things).  Certainly, after Ronan Farrow's stories about The National Inquirer and their catch-and-kill reporting to support the GOP campaign, it was my first thought.  Setting aside the stupidity of starting an affair in public when you are on the President's enemy list; it really seems as if there is a Presidential enemy list.  I know AMI is now agreeing to cooperate with Mueller, but they weren't back in October when the Bezos pictures were taken.

I guess we shouldn't overestimate the gossip press, but I am stymied as to why more of the cable news outlets aren't focusing on this part of the story.  Bezos may have handed the press his dick pics, but the fact that AMI was stalking him for months has much more national interest.  If Mueller hadn't intervened I am hastened to think how the tabloids would have been used to fight the President's foes; especially when it was this overt and yet uncommented upon.

I must ask...can you figure out any reason why Republicans just won't distance themselves or call this creature out? I mean I am honestly at a loss.

There are people I have seen interviewed who are losing everything due to his shutdown but still back him all the way. I can't understand this.  really, because this is just crazy.

    • I know there was one brief scene in the summer of 1989 where Lillian did mention Calla.. but in relation to her past relationship to Ross and it was to Roger while he was a patient at Cedars.  I think he was trying to pump her for information on Ross.. and for some reason, Calla's name came up.   I could see perhaps Beth mentioning that her mother Lillian was visiting Calla.. but not exactly giving any sort of details as to the going ons in Calla's life off screen.

    • They're neither great nor terrible AFAIK, but it is more a question of the streaming numbers in this day and age vs. actual TV airings. The Chibnall era reminded me much more of the crisis years, but I do think it's a very real possibility now as well due to the streaming bubble collapse affecting the show and its prospects.
    • ANYTHING to get her off the screen..she COULD have been interesting if she and Van had a few face offs..(there was a mild one of her going back to work...but I wanted something meatier "Bitch, I am Vanessa Chamberlain and I don't take advice from someone who followed the..career path you did!" I did like Alex's outright disdain for her.
    • Thanks @Vee for the commentary.    I haven’t even watched this season yet after  I couldn’t get past the couple episodes last season…like it was too Disneyified for my taste, although I did think it was a least better than the Chibnall era (but so is a lot of things). I’ll probably go back and binge it now. Hoping this season ends on a high note. I did read the ratings are terrible. As it stands I’m beginning to feel like what long time DW fans felt with S26 in 1989.
    • Yes, they are all on contract. Next.
    • I also never understood Alex's friendship with Sonni or keeping the secret of Marah's paternity.  Not exactly heartbroken about Ms. Sally being ushered to the Hereafter.

I'm sorry but I'm a glutton for punishment. Would love to see this woman OWNING the canvas. Telling off Leslie who tells her she's the head b!tch.
    • And in case anyone is confused; Rusty was hired by HB to work undercover and infiltrate some gang sabotaging Lewis.
