Days-ITS OFFICALLY BACK

Days went down again in the ratings which speaks volumes for what he has done with his golden opportunity of November sweeps. It's in black and white and the public has spoken. I'm still hanging in there though because I want to see it play out even if it's poorly laid out. I cannot begin to reason why he left Patrick as a viable character in the life of Bo and Hope, why he insists on keeping Billie in the Steve and Kayla storyline during sweeps month when everyone hates it. At least we have been treated to a few Bo and Hope scenes where we see the wonderful interaction between them and we see great stuff with S&K but the dreadful storylines overwhelm the superficial few decent scenes. Truthfully, I believe Billie is part of the mystery of Steve's memory, but since it hasn't been brought up, the fans are in the dark and the apparent feelings they have for each other is sickening to the uninformed viewers. Hogan needs a marketing manager since he is doing a horrible job himself....in my opinion and the ratings.

Patrick is not a viable character. He's a villain. He's leaving the show.

I have to agree It is back it is so nice to see the family acting like family friends acting like friends and eneimes acting like enimies Hogans stories were a lil slow at first but it is all paying off now a lot is happening very interesting things I love the EJ he is quite a charmer. Days is must see right now :)

[oh i know victor i guess got phiplip i wonder what happend to him quote name=Dr Neil Curtis' date='Nov 16 2006, 10:29 AM' post='304042]

The Show has been wonderful since Beth & Hogan started writing. I have enjoyed the past week with Bo & Sami sharing scenes together, especially Bo visiting Sami's place and tell her he is proud of her and want her at the hospital with the family. All I want to see now is Hope, Kayla, and Marlena helping Sami get back with Lucas. I love the way EJ is turning out, but my Lamb of God please don't let him be Elvis DiMera!!! Days is great, Victor is evil again, Shawn and Caroline are used more often, Steve is coming around, I just wish Billy Warlock wasn't leaving and Frankie and Billie could be together. Benji is back in full force as the nice DiMera, but it seem to me he look the same age as Lexie. I am so happy for Days new move and thrill that Kayla and Patch are on my screen after nearly 20 years away from Days. Now lets bring back Neil Curtis and Alex Marshall!!! Also the Nick character is amazing I was wondering how they was going to bring on a new never before mentioned child of Jessica and Joshua, but they did a hell of a job, now someone need to ask him about his Aunt Liz and cousin Noel.

Happy Posting,

Neil Curtis, MD.

Actually Jean-there are other reasons why it went down. The show was preempted for many on Wednesday and those that did get it had to see s re-run of Wednesday on Thursday. All the other days were ok for Days and were what they have been getting so last week was sort of a fluke.

it really is things are happening the may be small but the plot is thickening i will say that i watch y&r along with days daily and let me tell u days is up there with Y&R it is getting very gud guys kome on days was a disaseter things dont happen over night yea it is a bit slow it is picking up

The show's moving along at least. Individual scenes are fun to watch even if they don't advance much in the way of plot. And Hogan immediately jumbled up the scenes so that people who hadn't worked together in a long time (if at all) got to be together on air.

This is a complete 180 from this time a year ago. Thanks for giving us back the Days we know and love.

Y&R will always be No 1. Those of you who think DAYS will even get to the #2 position in the ratings are living in dreamland!

If Bo/Hope do get written out in 2007, wait for the outcry on the boards!

WTF???

I see ONE J&J fan in this thread who has taken that attitude.

I'm a J&J fan. Billyjill is a J&J fan. Jane is a J&J fan. We are all still watching the show. We have all posted positive comments about Sheffer's work. I made one remark about this week's episodes not being that exciting and now I'm a bittter J&J fan?

It pisses me off when a fanbase gets labelled because of the posts of one or a few individuals.

Yeah dude, we're not all crazy :) Heck, I make videos, videos for the love of Pete! You can't doubt my devotion ... but there are plenty of devoted people with a brain to match their heart, rest assured.

God, just give it up. You don't watch the show anymore. Give it up. You're more a troll than anything else.

Thanks for explaining that. I thought it was pre-empted everywhere, but forgot.

Not many viewers enjoy the fine tuning that a lot are mentioning here. That is something the average viewer takes for granted and it's the story that is what makes the show for most fans. That is what has to be the primary effort to win back the ratings. With the "viable" Patrick still in Bo and Hope's storyline, it's a bummer and with Billie still in Steve and Kayla's storyline, no fan favorite there either. Thankfully John and Marlena fans seem to be thrilled at least.

Exactly, Jean. We care about the small family moments, but who else will? Again, if you want quality, then the show is just OK now. If you want fans to return and grabbing and engrossing episodes, well, we haven't seen too too many yet.

Days is good again....watchable....but I am still waiting for it to raise above the norm, and be become "must-see-TV."

I am hoping Hogan can delieve some new and interesting storylines; along with unique character interactions.

Plus, more sex and drama would help too ;)

Hey, Dr. Neil Curtis, I thought it was pretty cool to see you in that Steve & Kayla flashback the other day when you delivered baby Stephanie.

I still remember Neil's last line. Something like "I have patients to see. Many patients." And then we never saw him again.

Now that Lexie has been fired and Dr. Bader is on the take, Neil needs to come back to Salem and work with Kayla and Dr. Berman. And if they need any more help, they can always call Frankie's cell phone and ask him to look up antidotes for rare diseases on the Internet. :-

The show, doctor wise, has not been the same since Tom passed away and Neil left.

As far as Days is concerned, I have one baramoter. When, on the few occasions I did watch Days this year, I would always watch the episodes whenever, but watch Y&R as soon as I got home from work. Now, it has flipped. Days is now the show I watch as soon as I hit the door, while I just got through watching the 4 episodes of Y&R that I had pushed off until tonight.

Days is nowhere near perfect, but I'll take it where it is right now over what it used to be, which is beyond horrible and in danger of cancelation. I do see what some are saying, about having some type of event to bring viewers in, and to remove some of the stagnation. But, for the first time in years, the characters are alot more multi-dimentional, and that will add so much emotion to whatever Hogan & the writing team have planned. No longer are vets going to just be brought back only to get stuck in horrible stories and endless triagles, and then get pushed aside for younger actors who would get the show cancelled.

Now, I'm not no one to tell anyone else what they should or shouldn't like. We'll just see it differently. But, with some of the rumors of the casting that maybe on the horizon, it will be a good time to be a Days fans, if everything pans out. And, IMPO, Days or any other show can overtake Y&R and become No.1, especially with good writing and good character-driven storytelling, not gimics. And if what I've read on many MBs about fans' anger towards the Bells, LML & Y&R is true, watch out. Next year could be very interesting. :)

Y&R still has two million more viewers in the Neilsen's than any other show on right now. It will have to begin a HUGE ratings decline before any show can dream of taking its place. That is still two years off, I think.....if ever.

However, coronaries?? Were not having coronaries, I just think the show is really on a roll right now, and you don't agree...fair enough.

That is not the impression I got. A few of us dared to suggest that the show isn't *that* engrossing at the moment and you started ranting and raving about bitter fanbases.

I would say 90% of the comments I have made about Hogan/DAYS lately have been positive. The fact that I don't pretend every aspect of the show is perfect does not make me bitter or negaitve. It's called taking a critical approach. The show is good right now but if it was as riveting as some on this board make out, the ratings would not be stuck at 2.4-2.5 (and you can blame the pre-emption but Monday and Tuesday only averaged 2.5).
