Days-ITS OFFICALLY BACK

The Show has been wonderful since Beth & Hogan started writing. I have enjoyed the past week with Bo & Sami sharing scenes together, especially Bo visiting Sami's place and tell her he is proud of her and want her at the hospital with the family. All I want to see now is Hope, Kayla, and Marlena helping Sami get back with Lucas. I love the way EJ is turning out, but my Lamb of God please don't let him be Elvis DiMera!!! Days is great, Victor is evil again, Shawn and Caroline are used more often, Steve is coming around, I just wish Billy Warlock wasn't leaving and Frankie and Billie could be together. Benji is back in full force as the nice DiMera, but it seem to me he look the same age as Lexie. I am so happy for Days new move and thrill that Kayla and Patch are on my screen after nearly 20 years away from Days. Now lets bring back Neil Curtis and Alex Marshall!!! Also the Nick character is amazing I was wondering how they was going to bring on a new never before mentioned child of Jessica and Joshua, but they did a hell of a job, now someone need to ask him about his Aunt Liz and cousin Noel.

Happy Posting,

Neil Curtis, MD.

It's good. But a little stagnant. It's kinda like when JER was writing and not much was happening. Only then, we were stuck characters we didn't like, flashbacks, and unbearable dialogue. Now, Hoagie is just doing the boring better. Actually, he's doing boring flawlessly. I just want to see Hoagie do some action.

I agree the storylines are boring but it's awesome right now. I can only imagine what it will be like when the storylines hit a climax.

The show's moving along at least. Individual scenes are fun to watch even if they don't advance much in the way of plot. And Hogan immediately jumbled up the scenes so that people who hadn't worked together in a long time (if at all) got to be together on air.

This is a complete 180 from this time a year ago. Thanks for giving us back the Days we know and love.

I don't know how anyone can call this week boring. Every damn episode has been action packed this week and if anyone calls today's episode boring then I don't know what the hell you are looking for.

I second your post Chip. Days is back big time!!!

It's not that I find the show boring. It's the storylines. But the great writing and pace makes me enjoy the show much more.

Oh I know darraholic but this week the stories have beem moving and Hogan is just getting going. To me, this week has been the big upturn. There has been big things happening in every episode this week and that is why I say if anyone finds this week, or at least today's show, boring then I have no clue what they want from this show. This week and today's show epitomizes Days-it's what the show is all about if you have watched going back to the 80's. The storylines are juts getting going but if they are churning out episodes like this then I don't see how anyone can complain to be honest.

Thank you, Dr. Neil Curtis for posting such a nice, positive post about Days. It's actually VERY refreshing to see people mention Days positively while also comparing it to classic Days from a bygone era. Unfortunately, based upon reading various message boards, it appears that some people really like Hogie's writing, while others think it's flat and doesn't compare to what they admired about Days in the past.

The Days that I've seen on my screen lately is the Days that (I think) I remember seeing when I was a little girl. I absolutely LOVE the relationship building scenes that Hogan has presented to us lately. I can't get enough of those. I like action-packed plots sometimes, but I prefer characters connecting with each other even more.

I also like how Hogie balances each show with a few light humorous scenes along with dramatic scenes.

This is the type of Days that I grew up with and I would love to see characters like Alex Marshall or Liz/Neil Curtis come back to the show. That would be really awesome!!

Thanks again for your positive post about Days. Frankly, it's been disheartening to me as a HS fan to see all the negativity about Sheffer. I thought that Days' fans would really like his style of writing, but unfortunately, at least based on reading various message boards, his tenure has gotten really mixed reviews. I think at this point, for people who don't like his writing so far, I don't think you're ever going to like it. That's ok. We can't all like the same thing....

Guess what PhoenixRising...I found today's show boring...and there isn't anything wrong with me.

(Well...I do have 'hat hair' today)

And I really don't mind if you can't see why or if you don't understand it.

That's just fine. It won't bother me.

I channel flipped a few times cause it didn't hold my interest.

How long has Kayla and Steve been in the bubble now?...I'm over it.

Plus I didn't want to puke up my lunch.

Marlena and John...kissing...dancing...*shudders*

Oh and Smokey Robinson being Marlena's rescuer is just plain stupid.

It's right up there with the Marvel tie-in at GL.

It's been boring and slow.

Just like the last few weeks.

But it's a good kind of boring I guess.

It's way better than a year ago...but still.

It's nothing I would wet myself over.

I'm happy for the ones that are getting off on all the stuff that's been going down.

But I'm not there yet.

Steve and Kayla bore me. So much time is being focused on them and it's just a snooze fest. Have they really helped the ratings?

I haven't seen today's yet. But John and Marlena in a plane that crashes is actually boring to me. I don't mean action like THAT. I mean like story movement action. Steve and Kayla have been dying for weeks soooooo....

Phoenix, you need to settle down and realize people won't agree with you all of the time.

I agree that something is still missing. The show is much better written and much more consistent and like everyone. I love those unusual interaction here and there, but there´s nothing really audience captivating right now. You are not feeling ashamed for watching it, like I felt many times during Reilly and some of his stories, but there´s is also nothing what would really force you to tune in next day. It´s just ordinary, the kind of show you are able to enjoy when you are at home and there´s nothing else to do, but you are certainly not running to your Tivo first thing when you came back from work to watch a new episode.

DAYS has never been a realistic show and Sheffer needs to accept it. It has been always escapism, wonderfull combination of bigger than life romance and some outlandish adventure stories. That´s what I´m missing right now. The big umbrela stories like Cruise of Decemption. I loved most Sheffer´s preview for November, because it seemed like the right combination of drama and mystery, but so far it comes flat. Plus, some things are still dragged. Cleverly dragged, but dragged still. I mean, is there any reason why the Patrick/Hope thing is still going? Or why Willow exists, except the fact, Shelle are waiting for new Phillip to be cast, so their reuniting story can finally start? And putting Kayla into coma while Steve is growing closer with Billie wasn´t smartest move either. The Billie angle is really not needed.

But still, I love the show and I have a big hope for its future under Hogan´s guidance. He just needs to unleash his fantasy and don´t be afraid so much.

This week have been AWESOME and VERY FAR from boring IMO!

The show is not all cliffhangers and climax's right now...but when was DAYS ever like this....not every often.

I think Hogan is doing a FABULOUS job with cleaning JERk horrible mess he left behind!

Unless one really expected Kayla to not get the cure in time or John & Marlena to meet a fiery end in a place crash, this would week probably would not have had you on the edge of your seat. It was alot of action without a great deal of suspense.

King is right. What the show needs is real story movement.

Jane, that was a nice post saying what I have been trying to say for a few weeks now. Thanks. And you and I NEVER agree.
