Toups, I believe Ginger was also writers' assistant (briefly) and then senior writers' assistant (I think OLTL calls that job "continuity coordinator"). I'm not sure of the years -- definitely between 2000 and 2003.

Higley's giving out fall previewes for beyond Nov. Doesn't look like any relief is in sight.

If Frons knew what he was doing, why is OLTL at 2.3, with GH and AMC at 2.5 at all? One show could be failing in the ratings, and it would be okay....but having all three so low at one time indicates mismanagement at a higher level occurring right after his promotion.

Even her career at DOOL was questionable, as she was only headwriter for a few months before demoted to breakdown writer, and she'd been demoted further to scriptwriter before Frons approached her.

So......They can rewrite her stuff. They do it all the time. That doesn't mean she cannot be fired.

Dena wrote the cheerleader BBQ like she has written every other story for the last two years. They were listed as script writers for every single story that ran from November 2004 through about August 2005. I like em. I think they write good couples. PC was campy, but the couples were very engaging.

Now I would be very concerned about the McBoring overdose, as if there isn't enough of that. Unfortunately it's all moot. I don't see Higley going anywhere and I so so so hope I'm wrong. She has already written the show up through next year anyway and none of it looks good.

I really enjoyed AW so maybe Hardy Lemuex (is that right) would be good. By the way, I saw Y and R the other day, Josh Griffin (I could be wrong and probably am but I thought it was Giffin) was listed a little higher than a grunt writer.

I must say OLTL is very very very very bad right now. It is not even watchable. Having McBoring bring down Spencer instead of Todd or Kevin or Todd and Kevin is the crowning blow. Now Evangeline is going to prosecute him. Sucks. I read the spoilers for upcoming months, more triangles. Nothing new. A marriage, rumor has it that it's Huffy and Dumbassica. The show is not going to get any better and probably will only get worse.

Now anybody wanna take a bet about McBain. The latest rumor is that ME only signed a short contract to wrap up his storylines. I think it's the November Gimmick -- they don't write stories just gimmicks. McBain dies, his fan weeps -- OK I'll give him credit for two -- his fans weep. Everyone tunes in to see McBoring die and then at the end of the month == poof he ain't dead. Take the bets folks you can see it coming down the wrote.

B&E are bad news. OLTL fans shouldn't want them as HWs. They should want better than B&E.

I dunno why I'm defending them but wasn't that at EP Raunch's insistance for more out there stories? (ie similar to the stories he had viewer success with when he turned OLTL into a fantasy soap in the late 80s?) I do remember the Chearleader BBQ now though but I wouldn't balme B&E if they just wrote the script (unless the idalogue wasparticularly awful)--big story ideas liek that aren't decided by script writer...

They still wrote it and the Nursery Rhyme Stalker, and were responsible for axing and ruining all those characters on PC. Their work since Loving and TC has been mostly awful AFAIC.

B&E weren't simply script writers they were also billed as story consultants. They were supposedly the bridge writers between Dena and Malone and stayed on to write for ME. That's why I hold them responsible for the BBQ.

As to the fall the speculation I've seen (and that's all it is speculation not spoiler) is that David is the murder victim being mistaken for Spencer. However, that to me identifies all of the problems with this show. David is a popular character played by a talented actor who has come and gone before. There are exit stories that don't require death. Considering David's con past they should have set up some con that forces him to run from town. All of course presuming the speculation is true.

Cal every story spoiler I've seen for the fall is just awful. Of course everything I see is on the internet or in the mags. And it's all bad.

She is awful and they continue to support her. I wish she were canned, I hope Jay is absolutely right. I hope they can her and Valentini and make the changes soon.
