I agree with the poster who said Frank Valenti needs to be fired as well. I read an interview with Michael Bruno and he said that both he and Debbi Morgan voted for Kelly to win Soap Star. If the EXECUTIVE PRODUCER can't see talent, then his ass needs to go. Casting Director as well.

Dena Higley's poorly written (and poorly named) characters are made worse by the bland actors playing them. I don't see another Blair or Kevin being introduced into the cast these days. Basically, I don't see any long term potential, just a bunch of mediocre pretty faces you generally find on Passions.

OLTL used to be one of the most respected soaps in the history of the genre. The way it is now is a joke. The (core) cast is far too talented for the crap they're thrown these days.

Carolyn Culliton would be a great choice. Where is her husband, Robert( i believe his name is). They created Port Charles which wasnt the best but i think they could co-HW

Unless ABCD and OLTL like 2.3 they better be hiring a new writer who'se stuff can start airing now and not sometime next year. They have nothing at all to help them crawl out of the hole they are in and it only looks like they are digging it deeper. FV needs to go as well.

Please let this be true. OLTL sucks right now I can't even watch most of it, it is just awful. And please let it be someone that gives Viki a storyline already. Erika Slezak deserves far better writing and a lead story

JayV I wouldn't get to excited. AMC was hitting record lows leftright and centre last summer.... and McTavish is still here (although not much longer)...... but I hope for your sake and OLTL fans everywhere (including me) Higley is removed. I have not watched a full episode of OLTL since last December and don't plan on doing so anytime soon.

Considering that they are pimping as the big fall story Spencer as Dead Daddy's murderer they could dump 6 weeks on the cutting room floor and consider themselves lucky. Does anyone care about Dead Daddy? Has anyone ever cared? They may be lucky to get a 2.3 the way they are going.

Even Spencer being caught is just not appealling because it is about John and his daddy demons. The problem is none of the stories are wrapping up and there is nothing new to look forward to. And what about Viki? What the heck are they doing to Viki, and Nora, and Bo, Kevin should be front and center, Dorian and Spencer need to pay, there is so much crap on this show including the overexposure of all the unmentionables, the whole show needs to be revamped. All of the current pairings need to be changed, all of the current multi-year stories need to get wrapped up pronto and hope needs to be restored to the fans. Because obviously no fans care much about OLTL right now and have no hope of it getting better. Demos are down, does Frons notice and care or is he more concerned about AMC/GH? OL needs help now, not tomorrow, or October, but NOW.

Well I seriously think Frons needs to stop worrying about getting these "name" headwriters and promote from within. Carolyn Culiton would be a decent choice IMO.

if he was going for a name head writer, wouldn't he go for someone who was a HW for more than 6 months and didn't cause a show to drop to then-record low ratings and near cancelation during contract negotiations? I don't understand why anyone would let her near one of their shows, but I can't agree this was a "name" role. If going for a name, you'd go for someone with a better track record. Even McT has had prior success.

When GH wanted to do very fast rewrites on the Michael murders AJ story last summer they did a turnaround of about two weeks from shooting to air. They did that out of a necessity to try and save the summer. It didn't work but they moved very fast. I also remember when Malone and Joshua Griffith were heavily "tweaking" the stuff in December and January of 2002 and 2003 before they officially started. And for a more recent example, look how much effort and time has gone into working over James Reilly's scripts and stories over the past three or four months at Days while they prepare for Hogan Sheffer! Beginning to change OLTL can be done in under six weeks if someone cared to do it.
