  1. EXCITINGNESS!!! Such a long time coming. (Of course, previews have been edited out Should be interesting to see how the get around recaps, especially in Season 11). And they made fake DVD covers for all the seasons! Almost makes up for not having them on DVD! lol
  2. Dipping in and out of Seasons 10 and 11 these past couple of days and, yep, still great seasons. I am very much looking forward to the show being on demand so I can do a proper rewatch not in DVD quality. I have to say, the season 11 episodes airing right now look GREAT. This can't be HD already, can it? I'm looking forward to the HD remaster but am so afraid of how badly they'll butcher it; they'll almost assuredly take out the previews and the recaps, which is much more egregious, especially since KNOTS got creative with how they did the recaps and I can see it becoming a mess.
  3. Gosh, Season 8 is so rough to get through again, even binging some of it like this today. I actually found a new appreciation for Season 7 as I rewatched a good chunk, although my issues with it remain. Season 8, however, I found worse than I remembered (even the theme song!). I adored Karen's kidnapping, but it took such a dive. I had as much patience with the Jean Hackney story when I was first watching as one could possibly have, but it is such a horrific story in so many ways. I would easily count it as the worst story the show ever did. Paige had not clicked yet -- I remember she somewhat annoyed me for a good 2-3 seasons before she became one of my favorite things about the show. The tone has changed, away from soapy grandeur to a more down to earth one. That ultimately ended up allowing KNOTS to more than survive the late 80s-early 90s, but they have not fine-tuned it yet. I can see the attempts at creativity (the flashbacks, Hackney, etc) - they certainly were not lazy, it just all feels so... flat. At least season 9 improved.... despite even more horrific stuff.
  4. Season 7's "High School Confidential" jumped from the 37 minute mark to the freezeframe, omitting 10 minutes lol
  5. There's something so comforting about being able to just tune in and catch a few moments of Knots at any point. Excited for on-demand, of course.
  6. MAD MEN Season 6. Still strong.
  7. Although I kinda miss Lucas and Peyton, I thought the transition into the new characters was well done and I have developed affection for them. I actually don't think Brooke quite works as a romantic lead character the way Peyton did but I understand why they're trying to fit her into that role. I enjoyed Dan and Rachel's half-season return but do wish they had done more with that. And I really missed the over-the-top soapy shenanigans, which they mostly stayed away from, until evil doppelganger Katie showed up -- so much fun! And really great cliffhanger with the double shooting.
  8. HIS DARK MATERIALS Season 2
  9. HIS DARK MATERIALS Season 1
  10. Just wrapped up GETTING ON with Seasons 2 and 3.
  11. NORTHERN EXPOSURE Season 1
  12. FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS Season 5 - sadly, the final season!
  13. Finishing up ONE TREE HILL Season 7 for the first time.
  14. FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS Season 4. "The Son" is one of the most devastating, perfect hours of television.
  15. Yes, I sped through those 23 episodes! lol Enjoyed it a lot! SO curious to see what the college years bring. You should do S6 properly That's really great to hear about BUFFY! It's depressing when a great show plunges into nothingness. Meanwhile, binging DEVIOUS MAIDS Season 3 and 4. Just a lot of fun and, actually, lots of laugh-out-loud moments!
  16. DEVIOUS MAIDS Season 3
  17. With CHARMED, TNT used to play the episodes with the original theme song. I started recording them so I could rewatch, only to realize they replaced it with the new, generic one. Like, are you serious?! Yep. The BH DVDs just cut out some of the scenes with singing completely. I suppose there's no way to replace those with generic songs, although I wouldn't mind if they simply muted the freakin' sound and had subtitles or something lol I will definitely let you know about DC! Two episodes left of Season 4. I think I'll take a quick break and binge something else, but I'll circle back. I do hope the college years are good. I am very excited about BUFFY (and trying out ANGEL, eventually). I hope they can keep up the quality. I am open to whatever they serve! lmao
  18. CHARMED I did watch as it aired but also doing a very slow rewatch. I cannot stand the replaced music though. I totally get why that would be hard to deal with. I don't remember the original music for BH90210, MELROSE, or DAWSON'S but there are certain scenes that the songs are just so terrible and generic and you just know it's a poor replacement! lol I've caught the occasional college episode of DC but hardly remember anything. It'll be fun to watch it properly. Yes, first time ever! I was OK with season 1 but the show really takes off about halfway through Season 2, and am really really loving it. I can't wait to watch more.
  19. Do you mean the original opening theme for DAWSON'S CREEK? If so, it has been restored (albeit, a re-recorded version) for Prime Video. Hulu still has the non-HD, replaced version. I am really enjoying Season 4 so far, although something seems to have changed. Did Berlanti become showrunner or something? It doesn't quite feel like Williamson. Oh, never mind, I just Googled it. He did indeed leave. lol FELICITY is another one I have never seen but it's on Hulu so I plan to start. Have they also replaced the music for that?! THE AMERICANS is building so wonderfully and thrillingly. I love that I know NOTHING of what happens in BUFFY. Completely unspoiled (except, perhaps, that Buffy goes through a dark phase or something in season 6... I think lol) Should ANGEL be watched concurrently with Buffy? i.e. Start Season 1 the same time as Buffy season 4? Hmmm, I think ALIAS was in danger of becoming too jumbled in Season 3. It came very close. I can see the benefits on "focusing on character" and making things a little more standalone. I did miss the cliffhangers and craziness, though. Ultimately, I think it benefitted them to tone the Rambaldi stuff a little.
  20. Pacey is a great character played by a fantastic actor. Honestly, he eclipses Dawson. I love him and Joey together. I'm so glad the show recognized the chemistry and Jackson's talent and went there.
  21. It's quite fun, isn't it? I highly recommend it for those who haven't watched. THE AMERICANS really is wonderful. Will start Season 4 sometime soon. As for ALIAS: Season 3 was showing a little wear and I thought they regrouped nicely for Season 4. The last season was a little wonky, mostly due to Garner's pregnancy I think, but came together nicely in the end. Now binging DAWSON'S CREEK Season 4 (for the first time!)
