GH: Actor announces exit
I adore ME as a person. I've just never taken to any of his characters except for Caleb on PC. I wish him all the best and hope he lands something else soon.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
True. I think Kenya needs to channel Kandi and focus on producing, acting, and directing. TV is about to shift back towards that way anyway. Might as well jump on the bandwagon now. And don't get me started on Andy or any man on Bravo that has done heinous stuff and get protected. The list is LONG. *coughs* Tom Sandoval *coughs* All my friends are coming for my faves!!! Now you want Jenn Aydin gone?! Lord!!! 🤣😭 That aside, I think they will end up scrapping the season. Porsha isn't able to provide much. The newbies are obviously duds. Cynthia, Shamea, and Drew aren't adding much either. Word on the street (in my Gizelle voice) is they are considering bringing Sheree back but that'll flop as Sheree has never really added much. People need to brace themselves. All these shows are about to end. Especially, Atlanta and NJ. I think the recent rumblings of Lisa and Mary getting low with each other on SLC will probably add SLC to the list too.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Exactly. Kenya is cool and level-headed. Bravo knows that too. I think that's why they haven't put out an official statement yet. I think how they respond will decide what route Kenya takes next. But I wouldn't be surprised if Nene, Bethenny, Leah, and the others are reaching out to Kenya to add her to the calvary. Now will Kenya bite? That's the million-dollar question...

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
She has decades to pull from. All starting back when Bravo thought it was cute with the Naked Wasted arc on OC. That's when the bottom truly started to fall out and all things were up for grabs.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
All of this. Hell, I thought Southern Charm Savannah had more potential than the original at times. But I digress. He's a man--a white man at that. They'll never address that issue. And it was a whole plotline last season and everyone including Bravo just brushed it off and took Taylor to task for it.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
🤣 But jokes aside, the sh*t is NOT fair. I can't with Bravo trying to take a moral high ground on what is acceptable and what isn't when Bravo created and thrived off toxicity. And we still don't know the full context of the exchange. And Brice Sanders (on Twitter) is saying Kenya was cleared via the investigation, but Kenya didn't like the parameters Bravo set up and opted out. Meanwhile, Sandoval and Whitney (of Southern Charm) shared images of their female cast members. Gizelle suggested Chris B. tried to push up on her. Heather lied on production, which sparked a whole investigation, to protect Jen. NJ husbands watched a sex tape that Danielle Staub didn't release on air. The Pump Rules cast engaged in racist acts against Faith and were later given a whole new show. A slew of criminals performing criminal acts on TV, but now Bravo wants to have a moral compass. Miss me with the sh*t. In the words of Cryangle, "THE LINE IS ALWAYS MOVING!"

GH: Actor returning
^ This. But you already know they are going to have Liz forget the mishap altogether to push them back together. As others pinpointed, I just hope he doesn't come back with all that whining and offers something instead of being overly righteous one second and a Sonny/Jason apologist the next second. It is already enough people on the cast doing that.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I love you both dearly but oh hell naw!

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Welp. Well RHOA is dead. I am glad Kenya is seeking legal counsel. She will easily be able to prove bias at Bravo.

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
About 14:50 -- Orgies being mentioned in daytime?! 😜 I wonder how they managed to slip that line in there with no grievances from the network.

ALL: Resting long term characters
Friend, that is blasphemy! Dru always has a spot on Y&R (and in my heart). She'll have a nice amnesia arc where she's been living with a widower and his grown children, which'll spark some jealousy in Lily and Devon. We'll have Sharon find her and help her assimilate back in Genoa City. Eventually, she'll get her spunk back and merge her new family with her old family much to the chagrin of some. That'll give me the chance to bring Davetta back as the spunky daughter that Dru deserved which would unnerve Lily as Dru sees more of a connection with Davetta's character than Lily. Do we have to?

ALL: Resting long term characters
Oh well. They'll just have to be mad b/c it is time to cut the fat. I gotta trim the fat to be able to woo Jess Walton back as Jill and Victoria Rowell back as Dru along with bringing the newer generation of the Foster/Prentiss clan on. I might keep Victor. MIGHT. But Nikki and Jack can go.

ALL: Resting long term characters
You know it. If I were writing the show, Jack, Victor, Nikki, Michael, Daniel, Fraternity Bro, Redzilla, Snoreboria, and Chelsea would be the victims. Jordan, my killer of choice, would be knocking people off left and right. 🤣

Ooo! A crossover to GL for Pat to reunite with Mike would've been juicy. That would've opened the doors for the Matthews to hop over to AW and vice versa. This is why I wish all the P&G soaps were on the same network and acknowledged each other b/c it would've been realistic to see characters move from one town to another when their time ran out on one show. And welcome to the board @mikeaw1978! We truly appreciate all you do on the AW homepage. Like everyone else, I find myself frequently visiting the page to find what new treasure I have not noticed.

ALL: Resting long term characters
We will have to agree to disagree. Nikki is one of the main characters left that offers the least. The last time I felt Nikki had anything to offer was around 2005. All her stories post then have been flops. Her stories consist of her drinking, killing someone, or begging for Victor. I am over it. I am over her. I like MTS but Nikki could croak tomorrow and I'd be OK. I think B&B makes a pretty penny abroad hence why CBS lets them stay on air. Out of the remaining 4, I imagine that B&B will be the last one standing. (re: Luna/Poppy) Not shocked at all by how Brad is writing them. He handled the Avants horribly and they were well-received by the audience. I feel like all of them will be written off 2-3 years max and that's me being generous.

ALL: Resting long term characters
Sheila would be fine if you had a competent writer handling her. And Brad is stupid for not assimilating Diana, Mary, and Ryder (as much as we want to ignore him and Daisy, we can't due to Lucy being on Y&R) to the B&B canvas. Why hasn't Finn ventured over to Y&R and met his niece? Why hasn't Sheila, who is obsessed with her scions ventured over to Y&R to meet her granddaughter? Diana being related to Steffy and Finn could catalyze tons of drama. The stories are there. Brad is just too lazy to execute. I am still shocked that a bitter Jack or Little Eric hasn't popped up shaking the canvas up. Those are two other characters that could provide tons of story. But I digress. Agreed. Again, I love EB down but sometimes, I feel like what does Victor have left to tell? Same with Nikki? Same with Jack? And that's just scratching the surface. I'd send Victoria back to Paris with Nick, Phyllis, Michael, and a few others in tow.

That's what I recall reading, but I just wanted confirmation. That now makes sense as to why Pat was stressing college to Marianne; she probably saw so much of herself in Marianne and worried about her making the same mistakes. Do you think that had they kept Pat around she could've been a good matriarch for the McKinnons (via Vince) early on? And as many pointed out, AW flopped by not bringing Michael and Marianne back in later years. Michael could've easily been an opposition for Cass in the legal realm. Marianne would've provided another personality at Bay City GH. That would've given Jamie more peers and Josie more family. It would've probably enticed the show to keep Dennis around longer than he sadly was too. Thank you!

ALL: Resting long term characters
That's what I loved about UK soaps when I used to heavily watch them. They don't fear cutting anyone. They take risks and a lot of times, they pay off. I think US soaps don't even try and take risks. They just rest on their laurels and drudge along until they get canceled. Seriously though, I need US soaps to utilize vets when it makes sense and put them in supporting roles when they don't. I love Victor/EB, but I can only bear so much of him acquiring companies and trying to control his old azz kids. If Adam, Snoreboria, and Big Oaf don't get it at this point, get over it. The Jordan arc would've been killer had they taken their time, integrated Jordan better into the canvas, and then had her strike. It should've been a domino effect before lashed out. I do feel like Abby has so much potential, more than most, but the show puts on her an island, which is weird. Abby is an Abbott, a Newman, and has a child with a Chancellor. She should be the leading lady of the show. Adam would've been more endearing if they didn't paint him into a corner of being a sociopath early on. Now that he wants to be "normal," it is hard to buy b/c they've made him so heinous for so long. He is one of the many characters that need to go on permanent ice on this show. Chelsea too. With Bold and the Beautiful, at this point, (unpopular opinion) I'd get rid of Brooke, Ridge, Eric, and Donna. Katie & Bill still have tons of story in them with Will. Center them as the new matriarch/patriarch. Bring back Rick, Amber, Bridget and recenter the show around sex and scandal. You have the KKKardashians thriving off scandal in real life. B&B should be subtly emulating that. I would love for Jennifer Foster, Chucky Foster, and Brooks Prentiss to come back at this stage. Maybe put the Newmans and Abbotts on ice and revert to the original core family. Julia's daughter, Jamie, can be brought back in that batch too. And once Meg Bennett passed away, they could've easily done that by having Jamie come to Genoa City and break the news to Victor, who would be heartbroken by her passing. Hell, you could've even tied that in with Jordan's story by having Jordan kill Julia offscreen as Eve hated Julia. But that's just my thought. Killing Cassie has always been one of the dumbest things Y&R has ever done. Mariah is a dud. And don't get me started on Nick the man-child still having stories about him being a himbo or having his 1000th mid-life crisis about wanting to be at Newman or not. I need them to stop panicking and either slash people or adopt the old concept of matriarchs and patriarchs being given supporting stories when they aren't in the lead. They can still drive story by being the "wise sage" or meddlesome parent. With me regarding Victor, his meddlesome antics make no sense.

Those were some nice historical nuggets that Ariana shared. Sadly, I flew through those 9 clips like it was nothing. So sad how those simplistic, sensical plots enthralled me more than anything currently on daytime. I hope she continues to upload more AW clips and possibly clips of her time on ATWT as Melinda too. Question--did Pat not go to college or finish? I am subtly picking up that maybe that is why she wanted Marianne to go. I do remember reading that Pat was chaotic in the initial years of AW, so I am wondering if that was the case. I am assuming that Chris doesn't last long b/c doesn't Stephen Yates go on to GL as Ben in a year or two? Again, I hope more '70s clips of Marianne pop up. From reading @FrenchFan synopsis, she seemed like a real pistol that gave Pat & John unlimited grief. Was Ariana in the role when Pat & Marianne were sharing a lover? I am eager to hear @vetsoapfan @Vee @DaytimeFan @MichaelGL @DramatistDreamer views on these clips.

ALL: Resting long term characters
It is odd nowadays b/c I feel like we are on the opposite end of the spectrum where daytime is letting too many characters long overstay their welcome. Funny because as aforementioned, daytime used to foam at the mouth of getting rid of veteran characters before it even got to that point. This has resulted in the next generation of characters on all four soaps offering nothing. If these shows make it another 10 to 20 years, what is Y&R going to offer without Jack, Victor, or Nikki? I mean the show is called YOUNG and the Restless; however, the younger characters are the most underdeveloped, uninteresting characters on the show. Same with B&B. What is the show going to do when Brooke and Ridge bounce? Yes, we have Steffy, Hope, Finn, Liam, but what are the B and C stories? RJ and Luna have no real longevity. I doubt Will will either. Brad has NEVER been good with teen characters. I can see him slashing half of them within the next year or two. GH would tremendously benefit with Sonny, Carly, Jason all driving off a cliff into a burst of flames b/c I feel the show would finally and possibly resort back to its roots of being about the hospital. But we'd still be left with young characters like Willow, Michael, and Joss, who are repulsive and one note. Even they can't carry the show post an exodus of the unholy trio. Yes, you have the likes of Brooklyn, Chase, and Trina but they get scraps and are still criminally underdeveloped. I will give DAYS props as RC does try with the younger batch, but with the lack of budget and Ron's writing being so horrendous, I can't even sit through an episode of DAYS. I can count on one hand how many episodes I've watched since the show moved to Peacock. But I will give DAYS props as they are the one show that handles families and generations the best. I just need him to get rid of Emily O'Brien, Greg Rikaart, and even Robert Scott Wilson (even though he is eye candy) at this point.

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
I have been binge-watching Nora Fulton's arc and while Nora is a gnat and there are tons of plot holes, the story is entertaining. But I think it is painfully obvious that Cameron is going to be the one to murder Nora as she overheard his phone conversation and he doesn't appear to be a long-term character. I think I kind of figured it out too because I am also starting to watch the Isis building arc and the most obvious suspects (Miles, Sky, Mitzi, Preacher, Gunther) are running amok and Nicole is dead. But back to the Nora Fulton story, I never understood why Gunther didn't weasel the truth about Nora being pregnant out of Miles. She did lie and say Miles was her doctor. He should've just gotten confirmation from him. And I guess I can wait and see when the episodes of uploaded eventually, but does Barbara survive the attack by Preacher? And it is kind of icky how he assaulted Barbara (I assume he did), and then goes on to be made the show's young male lead. But I guess we can thank the success of Luke on GH for that trend...

Thank you! I knew I didn't remember seeing her in the finale. Reading about Nola/Billy was icky as she was his aunt. I am sure they needed to find something for her to do outside Jason, but that wasn't it. I am interested to know how everyone felt about the shift in Billy in the final years of the show. So Nola brought Catherine on and it backfired. Interesting. Lastly, I said this a page ago, but you could tell the show was trying to keep up with GH. The hospital siege that I watched the other night highlighted that despite it being good.

Thank you for the clarification. Wasn't Catherine Shaw somehow connected to the Aldrich clan? Because didn't Mona go on a warpath after Jason was killed against Nola and wanting custody of Jessica? Given what we've gone through now with COVID, I am wondering what fans (who watched in real time) think of the plague story through modern eyes. I think I share the same sentiments that I'd love for more of the last 2 years to pop up as kooky as the show sounded around that time. I have to go back and rewatch the finale, but was Nola gone? I am wracking my brain now to remember if she was in the finale.

So what was Luke in the hospital for? I did find it cute and funny how everyone kept bringing in the same mini-tree to him to brighten up his X-Mas spirit. I am wondering how long Jason had been dead at this point too and how it'll be until Mona is killed off too. I wish there were more clips around this era that were available b/c I want to see more about Greta/Billy during this time.
