  1. I need the matriarch, Veronique Gates (played by Vicki Rowell), to be stone cold. She disapproves of her son's wife, who tries to keep up with society despite coming from nothing; she constantly scolds her son for not getting his wife in check, who wears the pants in that marriage. However, her Achilles heel is her grandchildren, who tries to prevent them from coming valid little sh*ts like their mother.
  2. I am assuming because Pennsylvania was big in the steel & coal industry in the 80s (I have family that live in Pittsburgh), so that would make some sense at the time; however, as you pointed out, Asa probably would've opened a secondary office in Llanview and left the main one in TX. Because by the 90s to early 00s, steel mills shut down and the suburb they lived in was damn near a ghost town because of it. The last time I went and visited (about 2015), they still have not bounced back.
  3. I still hate how her understated performances weren't acknowledged. And I get peeved that she wasn't on the stage that night with Helen, Don, and Eileen in the Lifetime Achievement EMMY segment either. She should've been apart of that class. Or they should've continued the tradition years to follow. But all this talk of Kathy Hays makes me miss her presence on TV. I miss her and Kim. This would make sense. I always took the P&G soaps as the theatre type shows--more refined compared to others.
  4. Not shocked at all. I am surprised they made it this long. P.K.'s mood shifted towards Dorit years following him losing LVP/Ken as friends, thus losing access to that social circle. I wouldn't be surprised to see him try and grovel to return to their good graces. LVP, stand firm and leave that stray outside. And Dorit can finally chase after Mo. 😝
  5. @Khan, I am wracking my brain about Spaulding. Didn't they just do real estate? Most of the stuff I remember them doing was in the realm of real estate. I am drawing blank for some reason. Cory Publishing - self explanatory; however, wasn't KBAY a subsidiary too?
  6. I am HERE for it all. I am getting my giggles and glee off these character breakdowns. But y'all know P&G going have a say so in all this. 😂 Kissing cousins are OK with them, but LGTBQIA characters... meh.
  7. How Kathy Hays didn't even get a nomination at the height of the Marland years is criminal enough. Kathy, Marie, and Don should've gotten nominations for the Bob affair story alone.
  8. Correct. The fictional companies.
  9. Due to all the talk of what we hope to see on The Gates, it got me thinking of all the many soap businesses over the years. I just wanted to start a thread that highlights all the fictional soap businesses, conglomerates, etc., and what their specialties were. Or subsidiaries. We can also open it up to foreign and primetime soaps too.
  10. 😂 at how y'all have mapped this soap out for Michelle Val Jean in its entirety.
  11. Ouch. Talk about a reminder of La Dame Hubbard should've won another EMMY. From the material she was getting from 86-92, she should've had multiple EMMYS under her belt.
  12. No problem. I just wanted to bring that to your attention.
  13. That wasn't my quote what you quoted. You might've altered it. Only thing I said on the topic was it was shocking that Liz Hubbard didn't win an EMMY for her time on ATWT...
  14. Still shocking that Liz Hubbard never won an EMMY as Lucinda. Especially, for the aforementioned years.
  15. I think that is why she is dumping Marge somewhat this season. Fessler wants an official seat at the table, and Marge isn't going to help her. Marge is too busy trying to keep up MeHo's hate agenda against Tre with Rachel. I think when Fessler becomes full-time, we'll see the true her. Dare I say it, I think she'll be a chaotic mess that'll crash and burn quickly because her antics to get a seat at the table are too much. She's moving too weirdly. In the words of Nene, "I see you."
  16. Well damn. That episode was too much for me. Furthermore, it didn't help that I should've been asleep while watching this episode. First off, let's talk about the tension between Jean/Scott and Professor X. Sheesh. I think Professor X's excuse was sh*tty. Overall, I found him annoying in this episode. All that preaching... enough. I was so glad when Magneto told his azz to shut up toward the end of the episode. Yes, Eric! Slap that metal on that mouth asap! Storm... I am so glad to see her back in action and with her man in tow. The touching moments that she had with Jean warmed my heart. I loved the final words they had to each other being two omega queens. Not shocking, Storm was a BOSS in this episode when handling the sentinels. Of the people I think are possibly dead/mortally injured, I think she isn't one of them. I don't think her bae, Forge, is either. I know Forge probably invented some backup plan in case the plane went down. I mean the man had a backup plan for his leg in case of an EPM (electromagnetic pulse), which Magneto did. Rogue and Roberto--I can see why they strayed this episode. Magneto has valid points. Rogue lost Gambit. She experienced the horror of Genosha. Same with Roberto. Then he had to go on and endure the abuse of his mother giving him up to sentinels to keep her company's stock in check. I'd be jaded too. And Rogue is my girl, but I didn't appreciate her throwing that little slick shot at Storm. 😂 Girl, Storm lost her powers. Why the f*ck would she be involved with y'all at that time?! But my girl did bring up valid points about how Jean died and Morph almost died trying to push Professor X's vision. And when Magneto referred to Lilandra as a "bird," I screamed. Overall, I need Charles, to get over it. Screw your vision. Screw humans. Screw the Milky Way Galaxy as Deathbird said. Beau DeMayo understands the comic book Jean versus the 90s cartoon Jean, which is great. The fight scene she had with Sinister was epic. I loved watching her rip him a new one when they were in the bowling alley. I just hate that Cable started to get controlled by Sinister, but I think that'll result in Jean transforming into Phoenix again, which will be horrible for Bastion. Phoenix and a rejuvenated Storm are not going to be good for him. And why was Beast trying to nurse Trish Tilby back to health? I wanted to pop him. But he had me cracking up when he told the sentinel what does five fingers say to the face, and then slapped the sentinel with another sentinel's hand. Morph giving us a Hulk cameo was phenomenal too. However, I need them to let Beast and Morph have their moments too. Maybe they will be the ones to stop Bastion in the final episode as they make it into the factory. The fight on Asteroid M... Jesus. Now it makes sense why Beau told the audience to read Fatal Attraction. That final shot of Wolverine's adamantium getting ripped from his body was too much. I do think that Professor X is going to put Magneto into a coma, which'll bring about Onslaught. As much as I feel like it is hard for the writers to top the last episode, they top it. All I know is that they better get every EMMY possible this upcoming season. And they better establish Beau's role as EP on that show. Again, whatever he did can't be too bad. Let's get his azz some therapy and move on.
  17. @DaytimeFan I think Jenn Fessler is playing LONG game. I think she doesn't care for Marge or Tre--she wants on the show; however, she realizes Teresa is a sure way to make her full-time.
  18. @Cheap21 that NDA doesn't mean sh*t nowadays. At least it shouldn't. All these bloggers be getting screeners ahead of time anyway. Jennifer sharing tea is nothing different than what all the others do. If they punish Jennifer, they are going to have to fire every housewife in every city. And John Fuda is working harder for that tomato more than Rachel is.
  19. That's nice. One thing about SONY, they are going to pull their soaps off YT real quick. They are not as lenient as P&G and ABC are.
  20. I would be OK with it; however, I can see many that would be turned off by it. Religion is tricky nowadays, and most people aren't as religious as decades ago. So it'll be a hard sale. I would want the show to resemble my beloved and recently canceled Riches on Amazon. But I can see that being cliche too as it was about Black people running a hair care empire.
  21. They need BLACK stylists on this show. Point. Blank. Period. Furthermore, I hope the styles are eclectic to match our community and constantly changing. That's one thing that annoys me with TV shows across the spectrum--they don't reflect Black women at all. My mom's hair might be in a short bob one month but will be in some braids the next. It needs to reflect that. Question--do you all want the show to be kitchen sink with everyone being middle class, a melange of have/have nots, or simply upwardly mobile characters?
