  1. While the ad is cute and peak 80s soap ad, I know it had to be jarring for fans who watched the show from day one. How ABC didn't realize that trying to take this show from kitchen sink or a Reagan-era soap with glitz and glamor was boggling.
  2. Extremely sad. I logged on Facebook and saw it on the top my feed and was stunned. I didn't mind him as Brando and felt he would have a promising career post-GH. May he RIP.
  3. Johnny Wactor -- an actor best known for appearing in nearly 200 episodes of "General Hospital" -- has died, TMZ has learned. Wactor was shot and killed in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning, his mother Scarlett tells TMZ. She says Johnny was with a coworker when they saw three men trying to steal Wactor's catalytic converter. https://www.tmz.com/2024/05/26/general-hospital-actor-johnny-wactor-dead-shot-killed-robbery-attempt-car-catalytic-converter/
  4. Thanks @DRW50. Do we know what network they were trying to sell the pilot to by chance?
  5. I loved Anacostia the first 2 seasons. To me, it was the Black Knots Landings. Though I love Martha and La Hubbard, when they added them to the mix, the show started to go awry. That aside, the show had immense potential.
  6. This. Don't forget he is always interjecting (too), thus resulting in many of the guests forgetting what they were previously saying. One of the many reasons why I miss WeLoveSoaps being an entity b/c Roger & Damon both knew how to interview their guests properly. But I don't know why he is protecting these shows nowadays. They are long gone. Most of the people involved with the shows have moved on and retired. Let them come out and speak their truth. Them shining a light on stuff behind the scenes will allow to us better know why a lot of these shows went haywire.
  7. Meg & Damian on ATWT. I feel like they just slapped those two together because fans were tired of PEG. Meg was literally a placeholder until time to put Lily back with Damian. I feel like that story destroyed Meg and Damian even further. Damian was written more horribly than before, and Meg was turned into a nut and shipped off. There was no real payoff. I'd add Nick & Diane on Y&R. I feel like that tryst was just to bounce around and see who Maura West's Diane had chemistry with. It was also used to provide another reason for Redzilla to hate Diane. Horrible pairing and horrible story. Mel & Cyrus on GL. I just feel like they tossed them together to appease those of us who wanted Mel to have a happy ending. Sucks she had to get latched to a Foley.
  8. I wouldn't put so much on Kathy if I were Kyle. I don't think that Kathy has forgotten how Kyle allowed the girls (minus Sutton and Garcelle) to come for Kathy. And Kyle has hinted she has a foul side to her. All it takes is the right moment to get Kathy to flip on Kyle. Seeing as Dorit is at odds with Kyle, she better align everything up and make the perfect shot.
  9. Regardless of what Beau did, he seems to be the only modern writer who grasps the concept of the series and respects its history. I am all for letting everyone get a shot, but every X-Men project is going to be compared to X-Men 97 (despite it being animated) going forward. I stand firm that a live-action series would be smart. Especially, if they mirrored it after the original comic by starting it off with the original five X-Men and building on it like a soap opera. That can then be spun off into other live-action series like X-Factor, Avengers, Alpha Flight, etc.
  10. Oh yes. I forgot about Tom. He would not have enjoyed his precious baby sister being romantically involved with his frenemy, Hal. Again, that is something that could've played out for years. And if Frannie ended up marrying and having a child with Hal, I am sure (if written correctly) Babs and Margo would've combusted. I feel like Frannie and Sabrina could've easily popped up with some kids to be alongside all the other Hughes grandkids and be the central figures of this show for the last decade or so. I'd imagine TIIC didn't care as we all know about the mid-90s to now, soaps started straying from legacy characters and pushing their creations instead. I will never get how writers don't dig into the annals of the show and dig up these blank canvas characters that are tied to the canvas.
  11. I did find that Ben Hendrickson and Mary Ellen Stuart had stellar chemistry in the one clip of them in the hotel together that I once saw. Wasn't this around the time that Hal found out that Darryl was Jennifer's dad? Regardless, that would've been interesting to explore as you would've had not only Barbara not being a big fan of the pairing but Margo too. I do with that ATWT (and I don't know if they did) would've tried to get MES back as Frannie. The show always needed a Hughes family ingenue as the central heroine and we never got that again after Frannie left. I would've loved for Rex to have been brought back along with Carolyn and how that dynamic would've played out with an adult Jennifer too.
  12. Agreed. James Wlcek is gorgeous to look at. I know he did OK in primetime with Walker Texas Ranger for a bit after leaving ATWT; however, I am stunned that no soap has tried to woo him back. He has aged well and could've easily been assimilated on a soap. Primarily B&B as a Thorne recast or a man for Sharon. Backtracking to Gavin, I find all his scenes to be him smothering Barbara in a sense. Thank God Ben Hendrickson came back around that time. I do agree that while hoping through the episodes last night, Gavin (and Darryl) consumed a bulk of the airtime during that time. Marland was smart that he knew to tie many of these characters to established characters we cared for.
  13. Oh you know this would've happened. Or they would've had her obsess over Paul (under Jean Passanantate) as poor Rosanna, Emily, and Meg did. The fact that Lucinda didn't strike back makes it endearing and infuriating at the same time. A part of me wanted her to lash out, but it showed so much growth for her to just take the loss on the chin and rebuild herself. I found myself cracking up when Jane ripped Lily a new one when she thought Lily had something to do with the takeover. I do hate that so much material from 1991-1992 isn't on YouTube. There's a big gap missing post this story that I wanted to see. I wanted to see the episode of the actual launch of WorldWide. I wanted to see more of Linc/Connor's relationship post-coup. There are so many gaps between episodes that I feel like I am missing important parts. Another thing, I wanted Iva to not take the high road for once and rub it in Ellie's face about Kirk. I hate that Iva had to always take the high road in everything. Just that once I wanted her to bask in Ellie's misery. And what is everyone's opinion of Marcy? I get the impression that she was filling the void that was left by Julie and Emily at the time as Oakdale's minx. I liked watching her stick it to Connor by snagging Linc. It made me feel an ounce of pity for Connor after did Lucy dirty as she got the company but didn't get her dream man. I surfed through episodes on playlists during 1991-1992 just for the Worldwide arc. But I know I need to go back and fully watch again as I need to go back and watch Jess/Duncan's arc in full. Wasn't Gavin Kruger a racist turd to Jessica and poking fun at the relationship with Duncan at that time?
  14. Meh. I am on the fence. I have to see the final product to get excited. After years of Bryan Singer's crappy interpretations, I am hesitant. I feel like the expectation is going to be even higher given how well X-Men'97 came to be. I don't get how they wouldn't just give the role to Beau DeMayo. But whatever. I am stunned that Disney+ has never done a X-Men series. That'd be more better than show given that it can run for eons like a soap opera.
  15. Good for her! I am glad that she corrected that error. Again, it just bothered me how Bianca became an afterthought when Lucinda loved her dearly.
  16. Y'all are going to stop coming for my toilet flush opening! 😂 I am one of the small few that liked that theme. That aside, I was up late last night watching Lucinda lose Walsh--really the first time I've seen those scenes. It bothered me to see my poor Lucy accept defeat so easily. I expected her to go out in a blaze; however, she took it on the chin. I find myself not liking Connor, Kirk, or Evan at all during this arc. And one of the people really getting my attention in this story is Bianca and her ripping apart everyone who wronged Lucinda. I've always wondered why Bianca was just forgotten. She seriously should've been brought back in the later years of the show. They could've easily put Lily on ice and changed her out for Bianca once Martha left. I am sitting her wracking my brain to see if I can even remember them mentioning Bianca in the last decade of the show.
  17. I think Jenn will assimilate better later in the season when she makes amends with MeHo for the 100th time. I don't think it'll last b/c B*tch Boy will find a way to start an altercation with Jenn and they'll be at odds again. That aside, I think Jackie and Fessler will start to fill that void of having people to film with when Tre isn't around. Speaking of Tre, the whole episode was all about her. MeHo swore she was not talking about Tre but this is yet another episode where she mentions her. We need a count of every time she mentions her name this season. I don't even think Teresa has said the Gorgas at all. I found Gabriella's departure to be emotional and display how she was the glue to that household; meanwhile, Antonia's departure took a backseat to her mother, father, and friends wanting to be camera whores and further spewing anti-Tre propaganda. You can see on Antonia's face that she is over her parents. I think what Tre feels Gabriella will do to her (move far away and never return) will be what Antonia does. I just felt the editing on tonight's episode was vulgar. We had cute scenes with the Guidice girls one second, a cute scene with the Aydins on the shore another second, and then Joe Gorga playing up the cameras and taking shots out of an inflatable. Overall, it personified why this show cannot exist without Teresa unless they did a total reboot. Couldn't agree more. And it'll be funny when they all suffer the same fate.
  18. Marge is so overplaying her hand horribly. She is pushing Fessler and Jackie toward Tre/Jenn and they don't have to lift a finger. And Rachel doing all that crying was weird along with Marge saying, "You just met her (Teresa) and we've been your friends longer." Lies. You all met Fessler through Siggy. Marge is going to catch hell at this upcoming reunion.
  19. The Brad Carlton/George Kaplan story was utter sh*t. And then the addition of some Jewish art that he had possession of... I don't know what the writers were smoking or snorting but it was a bad batch. I feel like the show was struggling what to do with Brad when it was obvious all they needed to do was put him with Sharon in the quad and remove Jack. Jack and Sharon should've never been an item. This is just one of the many stupid stories after 2005 (the last great year of Y&R) that I could go on and on about. It happened on ATWT and GL about the same time--Craig sleeping with Dani and Alan Michael messing with Marina. Piss poor writing choices for two men, who once believed these young women were their daughters at one point. Add Mallet/Marina to the mix (too), as Mallet was Marina's godfather. Craig loved Dani as his own, and then the story didn't even stick. Dani was brought in and ushered out just as quickly. No interaction with Kim. No nothing. It solidified what we thought about the writers--they were writing stuff and hoping it'd stick. I feel like P&G shows were in an incest slump at that point. The Logans losing their sh*t and taking turns at trying to kill or harm Stephanie became a theme in the mid to late 00s. Storm shot Stephanie, which was out of character for him. He always seemed to be the voice of reason in the family. Stephen was obsessed with bringing down Stephanie, and Beth fought with Stephanie, which resulted in her drowning in a pool. I feel like these were all stupid writing choices that resulted in the unnecessary deaths of Storm and Beth; meanwhile, Stephen was written into a corner due to his obsession. It would've been better for them to have remained offscreen.
  20. The first season of Night Shift was trash. It was like GH at night--centered around Jason saving the day. And Guza wrote that season. Season 2 is where Sri Rao came in, and the show became good. It was finally heavily centered around the hospital. Of course, that got scrapped.
  21. Me too. But she did have a big arc and got a love interest in Forge, so I can't complain too much. We might be in for a big story with her in season 2 by us not knowing which era Storm (Wolverine too) got zapped into.
  22. I take a sabbatical and come back to chaos! Folks fighting, poor Patrick fired... Patrick, just ask your girl, Michelle, for a job.
  23. This makes me happy. Nothing can make or break a project more than the EP and head writer at odds. I am glad they are good friends.
  24. Yup @Taoboi. I saw it. I kind of figured Gambit will be brought back as the new horseman of death.
