  1. 😀 Yay! So much good stuff in that period: Dina's return to Genoa City, the GOAT wedding, the beginning of the eternal feud and the eternal triangle... You should be knighted by the Queen! 🤗
  2. Imagine if Bill Bell somehow managed to bring together Jennifer, Katherine, Vanessa, and Stephanie...
  3. @Legacy @BoldRestless I think you have Carolyn Conwell mixed up w/ Joy Garrett. Joy's character Boobsie was a stripper or prostitute that was involved w/ Douglas.
  4. When Blake Lindsay was introduced, was she always intended to be Christina Thorpe or was that done after the writer's strike ended?
  5. It was actually quite disturbing considering Caroline was a rape victim less than a year earlier.
  6. One LOL moment was when Esther was on a health food kick and Brock snuck into the mansion a bucket of fried chicken. Does anyone else remember that?
  7. From what I remember, this was the first CBS promo that used a pop song. CBS had the best promos back in the day.
  8. One of Prince Omar's henchmen was played by Brian George of Seinfeld/Big Bang Theory fame.
  9. I thought Hunter Tylo's 1994 exit was temporary while she filmed a miniseries overseas. I don't remember if she was removed from the credits while she was gone in 1994. Hunter left in 1996 when her contract was up but then came back after being fired from Melrose Place. If this channel gets further into 1994, we'll be seeing Taylor the Desert Princess. That story was cheesy and sort of offensive IMO.
  10. I thought Bradley Bell took over sometime in 1993, or am I remembering wrong.
  11. Let's keep it real here, Bradley Bell did not inherit his father's talent.
  12. Michael Zaslow's last episode
  13. I've read that for the last 15 years or so, but the speculation might have been around even longer than that. Besides, at this point in her life (retired, and turning 80 next summer), she may not feel the need to be open publicly.
  14. Based on their Instagram, Ian Buchanan.
  15. Today (Dec. 6) marks 20 years since Michael Zaslow passed away. RIP.
  16. Please do not give Mal Young any more ideas. There have been way too many parentage rewrites already.
  17. CBS/Sony have no idea what a gold mine they're sitting on w/ respect to 1970s/1980s Y&R. YRfan23, the quality of that episode is amazing.
  18. Thanks for answering my question and I agree with both your replies.
  19. Going back to the 2004 Super Bowl, I always thought it was unfair how Janet Jackson's career never recovered while Justin Timberlake got off scot free. Ponder this: Suppose the halftime show that year had 50 Cent exposing Britney Spears. Do you think he would've gotten away with it and her career would've been ruined?
  20. That episode does feel like a series finale. I didn't see it live, I watched it years later online. I'm currently rewatching the first 4 episodes of September 1992 and these were the last episodes I watched live. The following week was the US Open short week and the start of school for me; my school schedule changed so that I was no longer home in time to watch GL and I never went back to watching it. Since I'm losing interest in the garbage time that's current Y&R, I'm thinking to continue watching GL to summer 1993. I've seen the major episodes (Maureen's death and the fallout, the full episode whose clip was shown when Michael Zaslow won the 1994 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy) and some clips (Holly spies when Roger learns of the Ross/Blake affair). From these early September 1992 episodes, I can see a set up of a Who's the Daddy storyline with Eleni. To those who watched September 1992-August 1993 live, is there anything else worth hunting down from that period to watch?
  21. From what I've seen of 1983 through 1986, there were a lot more action/adventure elements in the storylines. Y&R has never really been known for the whole action/adventure thing. I guess with General Hospital and Days riding high on the whole action/adventure/supercouple craze in the 1980s every show jumped on that bandwagon to some degree. Maybe it's me, but Marc Mergeron seems more like a Dynasty character than daytime. I guess another big thing in the 1980s was that all the daytime shows got influenced by Dallas and Dynasty so they added wealthy business families.
  22. Hahaha, you are killing me YRfan23! Thanks for the notification :bighug These episodes also lead up to Katherine's facelift. I don't think those full episodes have surfaced anywhere online, only clips.
  23. Any other game show hosts that crossed over to the soaps? I know Bob Barker appeared on B&B but surprisingly not Y&R. I don't remember any of CBS's other long tenured game show hosts from the 1980s/early 1990s (ie. Dick Clark, Bob Eubanks, Ray Combs, Bob Goen) appearing on Y&R/B&B (I figured most of the 1980s/early 1990s CBS game show block was taped at CBS Television City so that's why I only included Y&R/B&B). As we all know there were tons of crossovers with soap stars appearing on game shows. I loved those.
  24. During the Deveney storyline, Thorne was recast and Bill Bell was also setting up Thorne/Macy.
