Days: January 2023 Discussion Thread
Whatever lighting they opted to use for the Miami hotel scenes with Chloe, Stefan, and Gabi is something they ought to stick with going forward. It was more dark, moody, and flattering. When you’d switch to the Brady/Kristen scenes the lighting was harsh on the actors by comparison. I almost thought it was different cameras being used to shoot the Miami scenes. Good for Nicole for pumping the breaks on bedding yet another man, albeit one of her many exes. Finally a little reflection on her own actions and reactions.

Article: 12 Characters Who need to leave in 2023
Gasp! Don't get rid of Sharon Newman. She's in storyline Siberia but she doesn't need to go anywhere.

B&B December 2022 Discussion Thread
B&B has a funny way of having characters conveniently turn to the dark side to further along a plot. But at what cost? If Thomas is ever trusted again, they'll all look like fools (and he will be trusted again eventually, after saving one of Hope/Steffy's kids from drowning or something random and heroic like that). And what became of Justin? Just make Bill demon-possessed. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I still haven't seen SLC from last week yet (holidays and whatnot, dontchaknow) so I haven't seen the Heather black eye debacle, but boy, I've never seen a Real Housewives franchise implode on itself so quickly. From legal scandals to poorly vetted castmembers to the fact that these women really do just hate one another... nearly all of them let the success of season 1 go to their heads and they crammed in about 6 years worth of drama (complete with constantly shifting alliances) in under two years. They also shot themselves in the foot by not properly introducing us viewers to the newbie friends. Instead of getting to know them as individuals, they were just thrusted into the mix of drama without giving us a reason to care or root for or against them. If they want to save this franchise, they need to do a bit of a reset and let us get to know the new women if/when they return next season, and give us some new castmembers with genuine ties to the existing cast that aren't, you know, felons or racists or questionable clergywomen.

Yep, a shot of her palm with a diamond in her hand. Oh boy... BTW, I wonder if those other RH cities are still in the works. Phoenix and Winnetka (rich north Chicago suburb).

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
New Jersey looks good! I don't mind Jackie and I'm glad she's there as a friend-of instead of suddenly not being around. After so many clunker seasons transitioning away from the Caroline/Jacqueline/Teresa/Melissa/Kathy era, they found a great sweet spot these last few seasons with the same cast. Now it looks like we're about to enter another transitional era with 2 new wives, 1 demotion, and a lingering rumor that this may be Teresa's final year. Which of course begs the question... if Teresa goes, where do we go with Melissa & Joe on the show? The two newbies seem to have strong personalities, which can be good (i.e. Marge) or trying too hard (i.e. OC's Noella, etc.)

DAYS: Actress announces she's aired her final episode
I can never keep up with the revolving door in Salem anymore, but Tamara Braun posted that today's episode (Dec. 20th) is her last. I'm sure she'll be back or is already back... That said, she's a great actress but this needed to happen. Now if only SH's version of Kristen could be next.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
LOL I do like Heather, but you know she already rehearsed her lines ahead of time. Too bad for her then. Similarly, as I have watched the past couple episodes of SLC with Whitney's flimsy excuse for still being mad at Heather, I can't help but think this is the poor man's version of Jill Zarin making on-camera beef with Bethenny in RHONY S3 only to have it blow up in her own face. I'm sorry, but Whitney's insistence with having an issue with her cousin isn't landing. Let. It. Go.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Yeah, adding to that: Jen said Bravo disinvited her to the upcoming reunion back in September. Then a month ago, re-invited her, but upon telling them what Cheap said in regards to her case, they pulled the plug again. So it's not just fake pearl-clutching, it's sloppy messiness to squeeze out as much sleaze as possible.

B&B December 2022 Discussion Thread
Wait. I fell out of watching B&B in the later 00's. What's the story there and where's the kid? I've totally taken to Krista Allen as Taylor. although I can see the blue collar portrayal vs. sophisticated psychiatrist from Hunter Tylo distinction. However, the last time we saw her as Taylor, she had become a mentally imbalance gun-wielding blubbering mess, nearly shooting Dollar Bill for boinking Steffie. That little blip in Taylor's storyline has conveniently been forgotten (along with the kid apparently).

How many candles were on her cake? Isn't she supposed to be 50-something? Oh DAYS and their de-SORAS/SORAS messiness.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
So from what I understand over the weekend, Andy Cohen and Jen Shah will do their own one-on-one interview a la Kim Richards circa S2 of RHOBH which will air after the SLC reunion. Also, I don't know how long they'll be on the couches, but all 3 friends (Angie H, Angie K, Danna) will be there to fill up time.

Saturday Night Live: Discussion Thread
It was a sweet ending. I loved that powerhouse trio of Kate, Aidy, and Cecily and was so glad when she returned a month into this current season because the new cast was struggling. Cecily is definitely a dynamic performer that helped uplift any skit she was in.

SOD Best and Worst of 2022
Haha, thanks for this write-up. I admit, I held on to being a subscriber for longer than I should have. I think I finally decided not to renew in 2018, after I found myself re-reading the sames thing over and over about yesteryear (I mean, how many times can I read the same paragraphs about Luke & Laura's 1981 wedding or Bo & Hope's in 1985?) while skipping over all the spoilers because I would read the magazine a few weeks after the fact. Plus, the actor interviews were mostly regurgitated fluff. Anyhow, the Best & Worst issues were always a favorite. I was tempted to buy the current one at the stand, but I didn't see it anywhere....

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Ugh... another copout. Although I find it interesting that Bravo initially told her she wasn't invited 3 months back. Another SLC castmember bites the snowflake, er dust.

Yeah, I don't care who plays Sloane or what her past life experiences are, she has the emotional depth of a rock. If we are to become invested in this one-note trick, they need a better actress to play the part.

B&B December 2022 Discussion Thread
Corny & cringy... so in other words, typical Bold & Beautiful. LOL Say what you will y'all, but we need these hos on this show. B&B without Brooke Logan Forrester / Katherine Kelly Lang is not a show worth sustaining. She is the tentpole alongside John McCook. They're not the typical matriarch and patriarch of a long-running soap series, but they are integral regardless. If the actors are looking to take long breaks, B&B's team need to beef up the next generation and/or bring back other Forrester children to take over the mantle. Lesli Kay? Winsor Harmon? (I'd probably opt for a recast Kristen Forrester and her husband if they were looking to bring her back longterm... Tracy Melchior is kinda weak sauce)

SOD Best and Worst of 2022
Agree with you. That was cringeworthy bad. Linsey Godfrey has strengths and weaknesses as an actress, and that rancid story showcased her weak spots. But really, the absurdity of it all had more questions than answers.

Patti LaBelle escorted off stage due to bomb threat
Hubby is looking into it. I know they're saying they're looking to reschedule, but I can't imagine Patti would want to come back to that venue.

I'm pretty sure Eric was originally supposed to be gay when they brought him back in '97, but of course the network nixed that.

Patti LaBelle escorted off stage due to bomb threat
I was in that audience on Saturday. We only got maybe 20 minutes of her before they rushed her off the stage and the lights went up. I was angry and sad that this happened. Not just for her and ourselves, but for so many people in the crowds who got all dressed up, wore their best faux furs, jewels, wigs and everything else and wanted a beautiful evening see Miss Patti do her thing. All ruined for a bogus bomb threat.
