Not only that but there are different balls for men and different balls for women. If you think about the four Grand Slams alone, each has a different climate, three of four have different surfaces, the balls shouldn't be exactly the same. One of mt biggest concerns and pet peeves is the deliberate slowing of the courts over the last decade-- that and the balls has caused an alarm number of seemingly chronic injuries, and the elbow seems to be chief among these injuries in recent years.

The tournament doctor's explanation. My question is: Is it a certainty that he is not contagious at this time?- The Black Lives Matter Thread
Cannot say that I am surprised but certainly disgusted at the predictability of the systems in this country. It's also such a drain on one's existence.- ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
Shadow and Act, the Black entertainment blog named a list actresses that they believe to be underrated and deserve "their flowers" and Debbie Morgan and Tamara Tunie are both on the list.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread

He had 1 actress on one of the GL reunions, I think that was it though, over how many months? That is why I say that he is simply out of his depth with some actors. It's his show and he's free to do as he chooses but I don't expect much from him and kind of side-eye him at the same time.- The Politics Thread
They need to leave Guyana alone though, I have friends from there.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I'd love to see Tamara Tunie on a reunion livestream but I seriously doubt Alan is up for that level of truth telling or that tea. Don't confuse character with actress, Tamara is not Jessica! Soap fans sometimes like to put words in people's mouths. I'd actually like to hear from Meg Ryan. She might actually have valid reasons for keeping a distance. Not everyone had the same experience. Alan would be out if his depth with most of the people mentioned. Why can't these guys produce the show and get a knowledgeable host like Roger Newcomb? Alan has had 0 Black actors from ATWT on his live streams and I have questions. Also, Meg Ryan directs and produces a fair amount of television these days so her perspective on the medium may have changed.- Guiding Light Discussion Thread
Were any mother figures left on GL by '95? Nessa was there but the show seemed more interested in promoting her as a "cougar". Lillian? Uh, no. I can't think of anyone at this point. Bringing back Susan would have been a good time to do so with that vacuum. All Michelle had was an odd assortment of would be surrogate mother types on the canvas anyway.- The Politics Thread
A few years ago, I referred to Trump as someone with Jim Jones proclivities but I sensed that people thought I was being tongue in cheek then. I was not. Trump has many disturbing similarities with Jones, down to the slavish cult members who view him as their sole means of salvation. With Mike Pompeo running off to Guyana to scout prospects (presumably oil), I am truly unnerved.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread

I would never want anyone to edit it out but that scene of Lyla and Casey happily looking out at the New York City skyline with the Twin Towers in the distance really took my breath away, by the next scene between Hank, Bob and Kim, I felt oddly emotional, although I really liked that scene. In today's soaps Bob and Kim wouldn't even know who Hank was and vice-versa. The scene between Barbara and Hal was poignant too.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Unpopular opinion but I liked Pam. I think Robin Morse was earnest in her portrayal. I think the character suffered from being trapped between Lily and Meg. Maybe due to the writer's strike, I think the character wasn't fully formed enough to be legitimate rival to Lily and she sort of got trapped into the role of loyal friend to Meg, which enriched Meg's character but did virtually nothing for Pam.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I remember thinking that the Kirk and Ellie wedding was so tacky. I tried to watch it a few years ago and could not get through it. It is that bad to me. For whatever reason, I am prone to believe that someone thought that Kirk and Ellie would be some kind of modern, stylish couple yet until the bitter end it seemed like a fairly superficial romance. I chalk it up to the '90s. Tbh, Kirk and Ellie sounds like a suggestion from some executive at P&G to 'sex things up a bit'.- The Tennis Thread
Haven't had a chance to listen but I heard that this podcast is very revealing.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
The one thing that the character had going for her was Renee Props, who was cute and a walking time capsule for the '90s. The only interest I had in Ellie was during the Brock Lombard story. I have read on this board that IRL the actors who portrayed Brock and Emily didn't get along, but had Brock survived and remained on the canvas, I think there was good enough chemistry for a reunion between Brock and Ellie to make sense.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Thanks @DRW50 although the period of the strike and the next few months that followed were hit and miss for me, (Ellie's insatiable thirst for Iva's Oakdale exes bothered me--what saved it was the fact that Sierra swooped in and gathered Craig, lol) yet even the strike and post-strike stories are far superior to anything offered by the remaining soaps.- Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread
This is sort of connected to the articles that @Faulkner posted in the RIP thread but S. Korea has a history of vicious online harassment. In this article, one person says he now understands why some K-Pop stars resort to suicide.
