Chelsea? Sorry, but I don't care about her unless they return her to her con persona.

Or they can do what they always do when Josh leaves...Chelsea exits stage left.

  • To be quite honest, I am both mortified and oddly happy for Jamey and the show at the same time. IIRC Jamey is devoted to Y&R and I believe he has been since he was very young. I heard him complai

Excited or not about this news, I think we should all enjoy this moment. Daytime has had ratings wins this year. BTG is solid and got a two year renewal and a great showing with Emmy noms. Y&R has

I will never get over they establish this guy as someone who will do anything to get ahead, including sleeping with a man. And it never becomes anything real, or an attraction he ever had again. What a waste!

Even with years of lackluster writing, there is a lot of meat left on the bones for many of these characters. I hope they use it!

The show needs a dynamic Black woman that comes in and shakes it up to its core. An elevation from the quality Hilary could have brought to the show. An early Jill Foster/Rachel Davis/Erica Kane type that screws who she wants to screw and uses who she wants to use to get what she wants unapologetically.

Most of us are either watching out of habit or hate watching.

John Abbott death marked the end of Y&R as we knew it. August 18 will be 20 years.

I agree. I haven't watched the soap in years. I have some time off and decided to check in. Phyllis was having sex with Matt Clark ? Oh dear, the show seems awful.

I've never heard of Dan O'Connor, and all I know about Jamey Giddens is that each week I hear he's the worst breakdown writer in the entire history of breakdown writers. However, whoever they are -- I wish them success. To make Y&R a long-term viable show, they need to ditch about 95% of the current storylines (if you can even call the dreck being shown "storylines"), and the show needs a gradual, almost complete overhaul of its cast so that it bears some resemblance to what it's supposed to be about -- restless, young people.

Overall, I'm happy. During Jamey's podcast days, I agreed with 90% of his thoughts and comments on Y&R. He always strongly believed that Y&R should go back to the Bill Bell model, but adapt for modern audiences, something I've also always agreed with.

Whether or not he's A) capable of delivering that and B) CBS/Sony will actually let him is another story, but him being a big fan of the show and knowing it's history and characters bodes well. Y&R needs that.

I can't speak for his BTG writing since I don't watch it, but when he was on DAYS, I felt Ron C was the bigger problem, not the writers beneath him.

I'm not familiar with Dan OConnor since I didn't watch much of GH during his era, hopefully he's there to provide some balance.

I'm surprised you don't watch it considering Mike Manning is on it and is part of a gay couple.

Both are obviously huge ass kissers of Ron, so there’s that…

How unfortunate, but not surprising.

Dan O'Connor has been writing soaps for 2 decades. Most of us are fine with Jamey Giddens' breakdowns. I assume that comment was sarcasm.

-- Gina Tognoni? I highly doubt she's interested in returning to CA for soaps. She lives in NJ with her family and husband who runs a gun insurance company.

She has a faith-based podcast called "God Winks with Gina and Ashley." Their last Spotify entry was in March. They have a more up-to-date You Tube account, but only 47 subscribers. Their last video from 2 weeks ago about Scott Bryce has 66 views, so this is hardly influencer territory.

She still looks great, but my point is that all these hopes that she'll return to soaps are probably a waste of time. Oh, and Amelia Heinle isn't going anywhere as Victoria.

I don't know what Jamey will deliver to Y&R but he was very good with his own former creation. I kinda wish he'd stuck by BTG and gave it this kind of energy. I think they need it.

That would ruin Beyond the Gates... but maybe writer2 supported the subpar so-called "comic" material and therefore is not considered a bootlicker in one's eyes.

Gina allegedly was pursued by BTG for Heather Armstrong, the role that ended up going to Ashley Jones. I think she's out of daytime period for the time being, sadly.

It would ruin BTG? Mileage varies, but I think not. Doesn't matter now though because Jamey made his choice, correct?

Bootlicker? Who's that? See, I hope this kind of person doesn't exist over there because THAT would ruin BTG.

Ironic?

Highly likely, given what went down at The Young and the Restless, which is a shame because she's an actor that daytime would benefit from having in it in some kind of fashion.
