I know he's probably the worst, but Lani is a grown women that's a cop with kids of her own-I think she can handle herself and could handle knowing he's her father. It's not that dramatic. I mean it's Lani, so it's probably headed for catastrophe, but in theory it's not that big of a deal. I was also confused when I was listening to Ava/Tripp. He wanted her to keep the ring in case Rafe proposes? Can no one on this show afford rings?
