Actors who looked like members of their soap families (and those that didn't)

Yes, that's her. Of course the hair color didn't match KKL's, but her facial features are similar, especially compared to late 80s KKL. Jennifer Finnigan had a thinner face and was quite pale, whereas Ashley Jones always looked like a doe with her big eyes.

Oh yeah, LOL, Nick and Jackie as mother and son! That was absolutely ridiculous. Jackie must have had Nick when she was in kindergarten.

And the blonde curly-haired Phoebe was not at all believable as Ridge and Taylor's daughter.

Other than that, I think there have been a lot of good matches on B&B.

Taylor and Steffy (HT and JMW) I think looked like they could be mother and daughter. The eyes, the hair, the facial features.

JY's Rick and AB's Bridget looked believable in the late 90s as Brooke and Eric's children (although they were more like Brooke than Eric).

CD's Felicia and RM's Ridge looked like brother and sister. The hair and the cheek bones.

Original Donna and Katie could definitely pass for sisters.

Sally and Macy were also believable as mother/daughter - about the same height, low-pitched voices, and something about the facial structure, especially about the nose and eyes (I remember this one scene where Macy's face morphed into Sally's face and they were virtually identical).

MC's CJ looked like a believable blend between Sally and Clarke.

Sheila and teenage Mary Warwick (CD) were also very believable as mother and daughter.

On ATWT, although I preferred Julianne Moore's Frannie over Mary Ellen Stuart's Frannie, Moore looked nothing like her mother played by Gillian Spencer but, in my opinion, Stuart looked just like her (especially when Spencer had blonde hair). However, Kim Onasch definitely looked like she could have been Julianne Moore's niece. Also, the baby who played Adam looked like it could have been Benjamin Hendrickson's real life baby.

GH: Jacob Young/Greg Vaughn didn’t looked nothing like Laura/Luke’s kid.

JJ on the other hand was spot on.

Both Lulu actresses Julie and Emme were spot on aswell. They really looked like Laura and Luke’s daughter!

AMC: I loved Jacob Young as Dixie’s son but sometimes he looked way too old.

Oh, one that I forgot...

B&B, the storyline with Jake's abuse in 1991 where the major plot twist was how Jake mistook his uncle for his father. The casting of Jake's father and Jake's uncle - AMAZING. They managed to find two actors so similar in looks and voice that this major plot point didn't take any suspension of disbelief at all. They looked like fraternal twins.

    • Good Morning, this is still funny to me but I totally enjoyed what makes up "DemetriKane" so unnecessary, who cares?!!! Glad you like the Emma Peel derivative story.
    • Christian Streaty penned today's Day's script. https://www.linkedin.com/in/christian-streaty/
    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
