In all fairness, if I can play Devil's advocate, why are people tweeting AT GALEN that they dislike his character? How rude.
Tweet what you want - people are entitled to dislike the character and criticize an actor and say so on social media - but if you are going to tag Galen in your negative opinions, then frankly I would block you too just because you don't understand basic Twitter etiquette.
You wouldn't walk up to an actor and tell him: "Your character sucks. He is so boring". So why do people think it is OK to do online?
Share your opinion on your timeline but if you go out of your way to make the actor see it and potentially hurt their feelings by tagging him, then you don't get to clutch your pearl when the actor is like "No thanks" and blocks you.
If you can't be nice, why is it so hard to at least not send negativity and hatred towards people who are simply doing their job and doing their best to entertain you? Even if they fail at it, why be mean at fellow human beings for no reason?

Here for the Johnny/Tripp rivalry. That quad continues to be the best storyline on the main show.

I like Xander and Gwen, but they were creepy af today, talking about ways people would want to kill Julie.

And, I will forever believe that it was not Chad's conversation with EJ that made him go see Abigail, but that it was the experience that he had in Phoenix with Will, Sonny and Leo that did it.

Thursday was so boring! Why would they feature so many boring stories on one day? At least Bonnie wasn't on I guess. I like Eli but his little chats with Rafe about Rafe's love life are so lame. Nobody cares about Rafe/Nicole/Ava. Rafe is really staring at a selfie of him and Nicole with that damn bear. Get Nicole out of this mess and put her in more scenes with EJ.

I agree with whoever said that it's time to dump Gabi and Jake. I don't even need them dumped as characters necessarily - just as a couple. They don't work for me and never have. They suck. Jake had those scenes with Ava recently - let's explore that. Gabi can have a story with an upgraded Sonny and Will when they hopefully return

Chloe/Brady/Philip is so damn stale. It feels like the same scene over and over again.

Abe and Paulina talking about marriage. Okayyy. Oh, they're in love. K.

Xander and Gwen's foreplay is talking about ways to kill Julie. What the heck LOL

Having read SSH's SOD interview about the Doug story I am more postive about the story.

Doug/Bill is 96 years old FGS. I am sure he is finding it harder to act, especially on the fast paced way Days is taped. So they are setting it up that perhaps Doug is slowing down and needs care. That way he can be offscreen and viewers can be assured Doug/Bill is being well cared for. Some scenes for Julie that reflect how hard this is for a partner. Julie can keep appearing as Susan seems fighting fit. And I think it would be great for Susan to know she has a place to go to.

I think  this is better than seeing Bill ailing onscreen as we saw with Frances Reid, as that was quite distressing, or Doug suddenly passing away when Bill does (hopefully not for a while).

    • "Aunt Blanche" first appears toward the end of this episode, about 57 minutes in.

    • You're probably right. They may have just wanted edits of certain characters. Hopefully the rest is around.
    • Of course!

I'm wondering if there were bits cut from this footage, because to me it seems that may be the case. At 11:23, Laurie tells her psychiatrist that the bar phoned and told her Mark got into a fight and needs to be picked up. It starts to fade to the next scene, you hear some different music begin and get cut off between the static, and where you'd expect to see the aftermath of the fight, we cut back to a later scene of Laurie in bed worrying about what's happening. The credits at the end also show that more than Mark, Laurie and Dr. Northcote should have been in this episode. Another character, Brody, played by Ed Setrakian, is mentioned but not shown. If this is the case, perhaps the original fan who saved this episode has the additional scenes.
    • Anyway… It’s a shame that the video that depicted Leticia’s death was removed from YT.

I've never seen a trainwreck like this in my entire life. 5 pencils and 3 dolls?!!!!!!!!!!! (this little moment starts close to the 7th minute) WOW. THIS IS HAPPENING IN AMERICA?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • Ms. Phelps holds a BFA in directing from Carnegie Mellon University, awarded in 1972. At a time when women were underrepresented in directing programs, she was one of the few women in her graduating class. To suggest that she possessed no further talents than completely changing the style of music used on soaps seems like a vast underestimate when one reads her online biography through an objective lens. I guess that I should be more clever than to constantly blame misogyny for these misguided interpretations of her management style.  But, I'll never comprehend why fans unquestionably align their opinions even years after fact. Post-modernism, and the ability to reinterpret context through the study of history, seems to elude this conversation.

    • This is 100% correct.  It was even on the nightly news where the US Government would not let the cast and crew travel to Egypt because it was deemed not safe.  The Achille Lauro hijacking took place on October 7, 1985, when the Italian ocean liner MS Achille Lauro was hijacked by four men representing the Palestine Liberation Front off the coast of Egypt, as she was sailing from Alexandria to Ashdod, Israel. The location shoot was probably scheduled to be filmed in mid-October to air throughout November with a two week tape to air date.  Remember on the show they did some in studio scenes doubling for Egypt before shifting the action to Arizona.  It was an awkward end to a truly bizarre storyline.

New episode from late 1973 or early 1974!
    • Coronation Street had a very good story where one of the characters befriended a man who she later learned had been involved in her husband's death - when told right it can be very powerful (not like AMC trying to make it a romance). ATWT almost had a big fire in mid-1994, so this seemed to be a "thing" with P&G at the time. I guess it fits the disaster backstage atmosphere.
