Idk. From what I've heard, it sounds like they didn't even reach out to Freddie for this and just cast Zach without him knowing.

Freddie said he had already made up his mind to move on from DAYS before the called and asked him if was interested in Beyond Salem. Assuming he's telling the truth, I don't think this drag show was why he turned them down.

To me, Freddie seems like he has just fallen out of love with acting. Happens. He's married, wants to start a family, living in Florida. I think he's moving on with his life, but still wants to keep his name out there to get people to watch his Podcast.

Exactly. I don't think there's a huge mystery to it - we all saw how lazy he got towards the end of his run. I don't doubt that they asked Freddie first since they even brought back Eileen for this, so it makes no sense that they'd randomly recast Sonny if they didn't have to.

Agreed.  He said he was asked.  I believe that honestly.  I don't think the show had any intention of recasting until Freddie turned it down.   Oh, well it worked out.

I am still unclear why Ben/Ciara are playing Austin/Greta.  Aside from them being 20 years too young, it would be very easy to trace the fact that Austin is married to Carrie.  Lol at the virtual Garden of Eden being brought up though.

Yeah I didn't get that either lol Greta was supposed to be a double for Hope 30+ years ago. Plus, if Gina and Greta are royalty, wouldn't people know what they looked like or know that Gina's been dead for years

If I know Corday and Days they will continue to pursue Freddie until they get him back which, like swapping Cady McClain for Missy Reeves, is a mistake at this point IMO. But I'll be shocked if FS does not return to the role. If you want to retool this show for the streaming age leading with strong faces in key roles is the way to do it.

It would literally be 1000 times easier for Cin to play Greta's daughter and some guy she married then to pretend to be people that exist and are easily traceable.

Well Then Days is stupid. Zach has breathed life into Sonny & Freddie doesnt want to act anymore. Both Zach & Chandler want to go back on the mothership. They have great chemistry. Freddie has been checked out for years. Time to move on Days.

They asked Freddie. He said no. They called back days later to tell him they were recasting Sonny because they wanted Wilson part of Beyond Salem. They cast Zach who has been amazing & should be the one they call first to get first refusual on reprising the role

    • I guess it depends on your device.  I can watch CW shows via their website on my Windows PC.
    • Ooooo A Liam episode? I'll watch it later today. They sure are churning the daily episodes out early.

    • Welcome back, Shawn Douglas! It's been a while. It really is too bad that the writers don't really have an interest in the character because there are still a lot of ways that he can be used effectively on the canvas. He should have been a part of the 60th anniversary celebrations as well. If anything, just to represent Bo and Hope. And I'd much rather see Jada paired with him than possibly with Theo. But I enjoyed him getting caught up with Belle, and comforting her. I'm sure they'll find their way back to each other at some point but I do like them as divorced friends. I just hope we see it play out onscreen. Belle being a dick about Sami again was unnecessary though. And we finally saw Liam again!  I'm curious to see how this storyline is going to play out, and who's going to be weaved into it. He and Abe do work well together too. And we learned that he has a kid. Hopefully, we'll learn more about his character in the future. But I'm not really sure about Johnny and Chanel suddenly having problems with raising Trey. They've wanted a baby for so long, so I don't understand why this is even an issue. They should know by now what it's like to raise a baby. But I did enjoy Johnny's scenes with EJ, and that Johnny still hasn't refused to forgive him. This storyline was/is very clunky, but having the two of them be at odds is the right decision. There's so much story potential that can be drawn from that. As for Chad... there was no time for us to see his reunion with Will, but there's time for us to see him talking BS with Leo? I don't get it. And I don't get all this random dating app stuff either. Leo and Javi were boring af too. If we're forced to endure them, can they at least have some real conflict? The two of them losing the baby was the perfect opportunity for it.

    • I enjoy BF better on Days than on YR.   Chad is greater than Cane, in my opinion.
    • Ick! Seeing MS and BF making out as the characters onscreen was just ewwww.
    • The SON board.
