Yup, I said it before, but when they did the time jump I wanted them to properly tie up all the storylines and then do a major overhaul of the canvas (add fresh blood, straighten out family trees, drop pointless characters) - Rafe is deadwood and has been for... well, since when wasn't he?

On the plus side, I guess Galen is a nice guy so there's that.

If only

As did I. I've wanted an overhaul of the canvas for a long time now too. I thought we were getting it but not really.

I like Galen. I've just never cared for Rafe. The only time I liked him was when he was with Jordan and Kate, honestly, and briefly before that when he was just a single snarky cop, that worked best. Otherwise Rafe is useless. They've thrown him in certain pairings (Sami; Hope) that really never worked. Why couldn't they just cut their losses? I feel like Ron has no interest in Rafe, and rightfully so. Rafe is deadweight.

I wonder if they do Rafe/Nicole ...

I also did not need or want Marci Miller back as Abigail. I swear anytime I get interested in DAYS again they do everything they can to turn me off again. Can we get a Chabby break? For real this time?

Controversial opinion (?), but I like Marci Miller as Abby. She has that classic soap opera heroine thing going on that I enjoy.

There are so many things I would do to DAYS if I had the chance though - one of those is to finally straighten out the family trees. Viewers should not need a [!@#$%^&*] chart to figure out how everyone relates to each other to begin with. And in all honesty - I'd drop the DiMera's, their wacky plots and back-from-the-dead potions. I'd also make things matter in the long run - not pointless medical emergencies that lasts for three weeks and gets forgotten; daytime soaps are blessed with the ability to explore all aspects thanks to airing five times a week. Unt so weiter, unt so weiter....

But anyway, I'm just ranting.

Didn't he play a love interest of sister Jennifer, who quickly & conveniently turned psycho on her?

Side note: with DAYS' 55th anniversary coming up in November which they have yet to film, I'm glad their tape date vs air date are close. It was crazy how their 50th anniversary was filmed at the beginning of 2015 and by the time they were promoting the anniversary in November, they were all secretly in the depths of despair about the quality of the show, as it took a dark turn in 2016.

I loved Roark Critchlow as Mike, so I wondered what he looked like. (He’s steadily worked but I don’t remember seeing him elsewhere.) He’s definitely... matured. But, as it’s been like 25 years since he and Carrie got together, dude is almost 60 (he’s around the same age as Michael T. Weiss - which I was semi-surprised to learn as I thought it was a de-SORASing).

    • I can barely remember who was the person they tested her with for the AMC revival but I *do* remember kinda liking them together (anyone remember better?  lol)  But yes, I feel the same.  It might not help that when I became a regular viewer Tad was presumed dead and she was with Craig...  I do remember that my sister's best friend had been an AMC viewer with her mom and dad and that they were very excited that Tad was returning... OK I instantly remembered that.  And now once again I'm sad about what coulda been with the reboot.
    • Well, that is weird. I do not see him but I only have him on Ignore on 2 accounts.
    • In the preview for the show back in February on Entertainment Tonight, Jeresa the costume designer was specific about each character's economic background, personality, and the character's personal fashion preferences.  Very much about the characters and not the actors. She said Eva is a thrifter, so her normal daily wardrobe would be something from a thrift store, and if BTG buys it new, they intentionally make it look used. So what you said fits about the type of thing a lower income person would buy for a fancy event.
    • As hard as it is for me to imagine anyone but Don Stewart as Mike Bauer...I dunno...maybe someone like "Adam-12"'s Kent McCord?  Or Robert Hogan?
    • Yep I don't hate Javi and then he's macking on Leo and I'm done with him. Leo is a failure who needs to go away   I am bracing myself for Alex reading the manuscript and imagining him and Stephanie as the main characters, because this couple has literally nothing else to do until Joy comes back showing
    • Oh yes. The towel scene though
    • Interesting that Donald May has been mentioned twice. He's on my dreamcast list for Alan. He was somewhat older than Stewart and Bernau, but he could have played either role. An actor I thought about for Mike was Dan Hamilton. He played a role on GL during the 60s, but enough time had passed that it shouldn't have been a problem. He usually played smarmy characters but it would have been cool if they had gone against typecasting.
    • I like Jed Allan, it has to be someone who can play authority but "good" authority to oppose Alan's bad. As mentioned upthread, can you imagine how it would have been with Alan and Mike against each other, with Roger in the mix. But I would have had Roger, ever the opportunist to try to take advantage of their fighting to make his own headway.  Maybe that could have been the storyline, Mike involved with Alex, but the constant fighting with Alan causes a rift (she like Mike fighting Alan when it is to her advantage, but he can be a bit self righteous and I can see him demanding her to disavow Alan publicly..) so that is how Roger lands in her bed, much to the consternation of BOTH Alan and Mike. I would like to have a woman of a certain age being fought over by two men (really three if you count Alan.
    • Please let May have less garbage time. The Y&R threads have shrunken, whereas I can barely keep up with the Beyond the Gates threads.
