What bothers me the most about HWG is that Neil and Devon are acting like philanthropists. They're all around good guys trying to make everyone happy with their business. Huh? Last time I checked, businessmen need to be ruthless to stay afloat.

In order for Devon to be worthy of his inheritance, he has to "do good" with it.

Yep and that pisses me off!

MY has been EP longer than SSM and KA have ben there. His hands should have been the final ones on everything, so if there are complaints, they should be on him as well, and we know there has been interference straight and along.

So if MY is letting everyone know when his shows begin, I don't expect much.

Very happy to see Beth Maitland  taped for a full week. She certainly deserves to be in the Dina story. <3

I agree. I'm tired of Mal Young getting a pass for what we've seen on our screens. It's ridiculous l

I would've liked to have been able to eavesdrop on those "negotiations" that were undoubtedly required to convince CK that it was a good idea to age the Ashby twins to teenagers.

Likely, part of those "negotiations" included a compromise that would allow Lily to look like a "hot Mom", one of those women who are mistaken for their child's sibling or repeatedly hear people say "surely, you're not old enough to have teenagers". We even heard Jordan say this once when Lily first mentioned Charlie and Mattie.

There were a few episodes where wardrobe tried to style Lily in a more matronly manner but it was far too obvious what they were doing. My guess is that someone looked at the final product and didn't like what they saw onscreen and "gave in" to the forces that wanted to dress Lily more youthfully as she had been, in the past.

I don't believe for a minute any negotiations with CK took place before aging the twins. She has no special authority or power on Y&R. I don't believe she's had a say in keeping men of color from having relationships with Lily, either.

I didn't mean negotiations in a literal sense, hence the quotation marks, BTW.

Speaking of fortunes I'm getting the impression Nick might lose his. That would make me very happy.

Y&R really needs to bring back its classic background music.

Well I don't know if it means much but apparently Mal brought back Mike Dobson

Y'all already know that AA characters have to be "do-gooders" on soaps, which limits/marginalizes them as characters. I feel like writers fear giving us any material besides being "the best friend" or part of the town's Greek chorus. As a Black viewer, it annoys the sh-t out of me how one dimensional our characters have to be. Heaven forbid we do unsavory acts every blue moon to get ahead. At least they have Hilary embracing it and not being a "Mary-Sue" type character like Lily. It would be nice to see other characters of color get to have some fun being bad.

I've shouted from the rooftops how I wanted Devon to become a prick once he inherited that money from Kay.

Neil has always been a do-gooder, so I don't expect any change with him, hence why I always preferred the fiery personalities of the Barbers/Winters clans (i.e. Malcolm and Dru). Even Olivia would let the flame out every now and then and showed you she was bit messy. Now all the Winters are righteous and we have no destructive or impulsive personalities in the family.

Nick's fortune is as good as gone. They want this Underground venture to matter. They want him fighting for survival. They are  going to turn him grey. Someone somewhere decided to see if he can fill the percieved void left by Adam.

It would help if Nick came across as a grown ass man instead of an overgrown frat boy.

Take that up with JM. TPTB should have long forced him to give up that dude bro persona for Nick.

It's hard to give up a persona when 1) you can't act and 2) you are that way IRL.

Granted, it would have been difficult...
