I agree with that! When King first came on she was breath of fresh air as opposed to the first Summer. I forget the actress name but she was dreadful. King shined in the bullying story and in her own paternity story with her relationship with Jack but somehow they botched her character up probably around the Austin story.

I guess I was surprised by who ended up being stans. There were people I thought I knew who I never thought would support someone who seemed guilty as sin.  I was a fan. I thought he played dickish Adam just right, but the second I heard what happened? No way.

The only thing Abby has going for her is that she is Ashley's daughter but I've thinking about this: has Abby had one single good storyline? Because I can't think of a single one. Some might say her storyline with Carmine but I even think that was a dud. Adult Abby has been constantly stuck in bland or horrible storylines. Actually come to think of it, I liked her with Tyler but that was over before it even started.

God can Nick be written to be anymore of a caveman douche bag. I feel like I'm supposed to be on his side because of what Sharon did, but they write him as such an ass it's hard to feel bad for him.

And Victor has totally had a personality transplant.

I was told to stop using the phrase "She needs an acting coach" by a poster here about five months ago---yet here we are saying the same things about her. She' hasn't improved in over a year--not even her scenes with Luca were that good.

She's the one to say when she'll go...thanks to slimy Michael Muhney. And yes, I know there are posters that don't agree...but, she's still here and she is still just as bad. She was a better actress when she started...now she is just "there".

I think Hunter King is talented. I do think some other boards' criticism of her is colored by her being allegedly 'responsible' for Muhney's firing, which I think is disgusting. No one deserves what allegedly went down there. I don't think that's generally the case on this forum, and I do think she was overexposed by the last two regimes and pushed into the frontburner beyond her ability. I think she's good at certain things but cannot be expected to be the show's star heroine. I liked her and even I got tired of her.

These 2 things are accurate imo. Why CP pushed that child as THE show's star is beyond me. Poor girl was asked to do way more than she's capable. She was just lost. I felt bad for her when she had so mich dialogue that she lost her voice. It was just too much. I don't think many actresses on the show could have pulled off what they tried to do with her without resentment from a large part of the audience. SC?...and...TEB?.......that's all I got.

JM could soften up what's written, but he tends to play Nick as aggressive. It's just his go to persona in the role. All I can say is if someone had kept my child from me, I'd be in no hurry to change a custody agreement to give them more time with my other child.  From where I'm sitting it doesn't even make sense that Dylan is pushing Sharon to ask for it.  Even to the point of going to court? It's just nuts. If I were Nick I would not give one inch unless Faith asked me to directly.

Perhaps it wasn't the most well-played match in history, but that's something no one will remember in a few years time.
    • The thing with Martin (for me) is that he should have been Anita and Vernon's kid. I honestly think he would have been fine being an older or younger brother to Dani and Nicole. It also would have made his relationship and kids feel more realistic. A handsome salt and pepper late 40s/early 50s congressman who settled down and adopted kids to fit an image for politics. Not that he didn't want this lifestyle but it is what he needed to do to get ahead. Also, we don't often get older characters playing LGBT roles not just on daytime but across most media. It would have been a refreshing take. As an alternative, Sam and Ty could have been Martin's kids from an earlier marriage a la the NJ governor that was outed. We could have also seen parallels between Vernon and Anita thinking back to how they handled Martin coming out compared to the way they accepted Chelsea.  As for Martin being Nicole and Ted's kid, I do wish in this case he was not tied to a marriage and kids, so that he could date and sleep around like any other character on a soap.  Yeah, I didn't get it...but what I did get is that girl is a bit crazy like her mama.  Vanessa and Joey talking about the poker table...get these people off my screen.

    • Unpopular opinion, but I didn't think the show should have reunited Billy/Vanessa at all until the final stretch of the show. When watching the 1989 episodes when both Vanessa and Billy return after being off the show... I liked that Vanessa had moved on from him and that the show was hinting at her wanting to reunite with her first love Ross while looking down at Nadine for being the one Ross was dating.  And I loved the twist where Billy and Nadine teamed up to keep Vanessa/Ross apart.   This was an interesting concept that sadly the writers dropped with the show deciding to make Vanessa pine over Billy between 1990 and 1993 when they finally reunited.   To me, Vanessa pining over Billy seemed out of character. At least once Billy was carted off to prison in 1994... she and Billy divorced and stayed divorced until the final months when they finally found their way back together.  During the years when they were divorced, I liked that they had maintained a friendship and connection.. with viewers (like my late mom) wondering if they would ever decide to make it work again. I wish the show had tried that with Josh/Reva because by the time of the final episode when they rode off into the sunset, I didn't care because we'd been through the make up and break ups between them for over 10+ years by that point.
    • I break down the primetime soap era (start of Dallas to end of Knots Landing) as  Up to Spring 1982: Building the foundation. Fall 1982-Spring 1985: Peak. Fall 1985-Spring 1988: Tanking. Fall 1988 onward: Off the rails plus budget mode. Of course individual shows vary and I've broken down each show in their threads.
    • I’m ready for Portia and Curtis to divorce and get it over with. Portia cheating with Isaiah would make for a fun love quadrangle with Jordan.

    • They didn't need to have some slutty gay dude as their representation. Just a 'normal' guy getting involved with another guy or two (or three). Just like the straight characters. Thinking about it, they missed the boat by not having a few other single charcters at the beginning. Maybe Naomi or Ashley could be shown meeting Derek/Jacob and  we could follow their romance. Too many characters were coupled up at the start. As a tattoo hater I was surprised to see Tomas so inked. Don't find it attractive or sexy. I'm surprised an actor would do that as it's definitely a statement and may not be appropriate for some roles. Suppose they can cover if necessary. I didn't buy Kat being all girly and then paying off Darius to get into Eva's room. Way too cliche. She should have just come along when the housekeeping was leaving and breezed in saying it was her room. And her smug looks in the hotel room and 'Now I've got you!!' talks to herself at Orphey Gene's...no.
