Not credits-wise (JFP still EP).....but the directing and editing was really good.  It felt/looked a bit like old school Y&R because of the camera movements and angles.

I'm surprised that Y&R hasn't followed B&B template of using exterior shots - even around the studio. Yes, B&B is set in LA so it's easier to pull off, but there are plenty of generic shots that I'm sure could be added in. I know they did one for the Billy/Phyllis motorcycle accident. Overall, except for Billy's ridiculous rehab of mansion, the roof of club and Chancellor Park have been solid additions for sets.

No - for one thing, as mentioned, Y&R is not based in LA, so it's harder for them to do (they'd need to keep the seasonality aspect of Wisconsin in mind). They could do more generic locations (like the Phyllis/Billy motorcycle scenes), but then it would probably look like doing a location shoot for the sake of doing one (and they're quite expensive to do in the first place).

Billy and Phyllis are cringey as hell.  Separately, they're okay.  Together, cringey in the extreme.

Ian needs to be shot and killed.  Every plot he's in eventually turns to a big pile of ridiculous [!@#$%^&*] that takes everyone around him down with it.

I can only hope and pray that now that Sharon's in the hospital she has a seizure and they do a CAT scan discovering a brain tumor.  This bi polar illness with her going off her meds on a regular basis has ruined Sharon imo.  Now she's hit her own daughter in the head with a blunt object knocking her out and putting her life in danger.  Sharon should be hospitalized or at the very least have her kids taken away.  She should not be around young defenseless children!  I can't believe Mariah is covering up for her and putting Faith and Sully in harm's way.

I could care less about Victor.  The stuff he's done - unredeemable - don't care.  And I really hope it's true that Hunter King is leaving.  I'm so tired of her reasoning that "Grandpa never thought it would go THIS far."  Your mother was sleeping with a complete stranger because of your Grandpa.  Your husband at the time is dead because everything he documented was true...the Newmans never pay for anything.  I mean - does anyone remember...it was Victor that turned Noah in and said...it's up to you to face what you did and all I did was tell the truth.  ?????  That's all anyone did in the Victor storyline....they told the truth.  Anytime he gets shot or something bad happens to him - it's FF material.  Nothing ever happens to him.

    • Yes, of course, all of those servants added to the overall picture at AW & also people had relationships with those servants! I like it when Anita asks after one of the servants at the club, how their children are doing & like that.
    • Great scenes between Marlena and EJ today. Paula and Jeanne are making EJ have more depth than Ron had during his long drawn out tenure.
    • Might as well say it, Minority opinion, granted, but I like Joss & I'm okay with this WSB story & i hope that Emma will be their next recruit & she & Joss can be partners.
    • Thanks again @Paul Raven  The Arlene/Ben/Betsy triangle is one I wish I could see for myself as on paper it doesn't tend to excite me but I can see how well-constructed it was. I wish I could see the Rick/Meg relationship too, although I wish they'd had him genuinely fall for Meg after he gets together with Cal. The whole Brooke/Deacon/Bridget story on B&B was horribly damaging to Brooke as a character but it was dramatically very sound because I could completely believe Deacon would fall for messy and vulnerable Brooke after finally settling down with the more docile Bridget.

    • According to the head writer list, it seems the show may have started to fall apart while either the Schneiders or Upton were writing.  And when it started to crumble, it crumbled fast.  It was sad to see everything Labine had brought to LOL be disassembled.

Welcome back!!! And I see Abe and Paulina got a new apartment too, which is just a redress of John/Marlena’s, Steve/Kayla’s, etc. But it looks kinda nice. And I enjoyed his scenes with Chanel. It added another perspective to everything that’s been going on with her and Johnny. And Abe using his own history with Lexie to comfort Chanel was a good idea. Plus, it also provided us with more suspicion/red herring about Johnny possibly shooting EJ. I’m looking forward to see what happens between her and Johnny. And I’m so glad that the two of them are on the frontburner now.  Speaking of Johnny, I still have no problem with him going to work for Titan. The drama could be so good, especially once EJ finds out. To me, it seems like another realistic reaction to everything that’s been happening to Johnny lately. It doesn’t seem random and over the top either. And I like that they remembered to have Johnny tell Xander that he has no corporate experience whatsoever. Surprisingly, the two of them work well together. And so do Carson and Deidre. I love how the Marlena/Johnny relationship has been featured so much.  Kayla was still strong and kicking ass today too. The writer change has helped her/Mary Beth so much. But I do admit we should’ve seen Steve trying to get into Dr. Russell’s lab rather than Kayla instructing him over the phone.  And unfortunately, Chad and Cat still don’t seem to be doing much for me though. The cliffhanger was ok too.   Btw, Days was trending at #4 this morning on Peacock
    • There was a huge outcry when we learned that JFP intended to off Donna.
