TB and CM were pretty enjoyable today discussing redecorating the Abbot manse. TB cried actual tears and was convincing grieving Phyllis. Lauren's beautiful tall regal assistant decorator was nice eye candy as well; beautiful clothes,elegant hair and jewelry excellent posture - all good. To me the Lauren/Kelly scene was a lot more entertaining than any Lauren/Michael scene I've watched in a long time.

Love the new actress playing Phyllis. So far. I really hope they don't write her a bunch of silly bullcrap because she seems to be a serious actress. Her scenes in the restaurant today with the waitress were super and I thought having her go into the bathroom and contemplate exiting via the window was a nice touch. They even put a feminine hygiene product dispenser on the wall, lol. Speaking of good sets, I think this is the first time I've seen Victor in the back of his limo in a long, long time, maybe ever? Loved that set as well. Sets that aren't so wonderful? Katherine Chancellor Memorial Park for one. It looks a lot like a putt putt golf course with all the fake grass and fake rocks. I keep waiting for someone to jog past a mini windmill or a giant clown's head.

I see Gina has made the effort to pick up some of the mannerisms MS gave Phyllis. I appreciate that effort. It shows commitment.

After all of these years Christine can still be as annoying as ever. She's the only one who can make me team Dylan.

Michael's viagra story is ridiculous, imo. A 50+ man needs some help getting the blood flowing is not a story or marital crisis, it's a biological reality. Maybe it would have been a story 20 years ago, before every dude and his 30 year old brother started popping these pills for the hell of it, but it's 2014, no one cares. Watch Lauren get upset about it though and act like Michael needs an aphrodisiac to be with her.

Gina is a solid actress but her success will depend on the writing.

I think the beats that the writers are playing with Michael make sense. Michael is an older guy having trouble firming up. Although viagra is common, there is still some level of shame associated with that. I am sure his ego is bruised. It makes sense. But Lauren acting like he isn't attracted to her anymore is just stupid. No sane woman in 2014 would think this. That's where the story should be modernized. Lauren should have been pushing Michael to the doctor with him refusing because he didn't want to accept he needed assistance. Instead we get Lauren asking lily about keeping it spicy in the bedroom. Just no.
