HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Not stressing. Finding it stupid as well. I think its silly some demand news now and get mad when they dont get it

By "stressing," I mean emphasizing the blatant double standard of people whining about PP but letting every other production company off the hook for not divulging each and every last detail of their business plan to the public three months in advance. I didn't mean "worry" stress. Clearly, you're not scouring the internet, looking for bits and pieces of information to bring to this thread only to crap all over it.

why didnt ABC just give them one year contracts til they knew if PP was gonna succeed or not

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that maybe GH knew? Even though it's highly probable that what's on screen now was rewritten at the last minute, the way it's playing out seems that at least Todd and John were geared up to be written out. Starr? Not so sure. However, even still, the "public opinion" seems to be making this out to be some kind of conspiracy against Howarth, Alderson and Easton. To that, I blame ABC/GH fully. If they wanted the actors, they should've created new roles for them. But, on the surface, it seems that GH tried to have their cake and eat it to and hedge their bets by connecting the OLTL characters with top tier GH characters in hopes that, if PP did come calling, they'd feel they couldn't take "The Three" back due to their forced "ties" to the GH canvas.

This statement should be bumped every two or so pages.

I agree!

Am I wrong in presuming PP could have not allowed those characters to go to GH in the first place? I sure wish they'd been brought on as new characters to begin with. We can debate whether they (the characters) actually benefitted GH or not. Apparently many think GH did gain since theywant tocheatPP out of the characters they own and paid for. And it remains to be seen whether or not PP benefitted from FV's and Ron's peculiar vision of keeping OLTL alive. Don't see how PP got anything out of it but a headache at this point. All pp gets out of the prevailing vision I see from GH fans is that the valuable components belong on the valuable show. Pp should take whatever is left and make do.

To your point, I can speak as an All My Children Fan First. As much as I love General Hospital and have been a devoted fan for over a decade, I always felt cheated that Skye never went back to AMC while it was on the air, regardless of AMC being taped in NYC or LA.I was always thinking, in the back of my mind, "If only Skye would be here for Adam at this point?" Or "I wonder how Skye would've dealt with JR's alcoholism?" I can understand how OLTL fans might feel about "their characters" not being a part of their show. Especially those who didn't come over to GH. I just so happened to be a GH viewer around the same time that Skye Chandler came over as a GH regular. But that still didn't change the fact that I wished she was back at AMC and dealing with her family/history over there.

Wonder if some of the UMG artists will be involved with new theme songs or theme music for the shows.

AMC's new theme will be Baby by Justin Bieber.

Lol. OMG. I would protest. Thankfully that wont ever happen.

That's sad look at the OLTL cast list in comparison to AMC's if they're going to announce more casting for AMC they need to get their asses in gear and do it

When will you stop complaining?? AMC ended on a powerful cliffhanger so I bet we won't know who all signed until the first episode.

I hope this means they have resolved this Gh vs PP dispute since I would think they need to know the status of these characters and/or actors before they start filming. I honestly don't care what happens anymore, just resolve it, this is getting downright stupid

March 11 is when Robin Strasser first has a call date into the studio. Production doesn't mean taping...

Including Cady McClain AMC has 8 actors signed up. They are also casting 6 contract roles and 4 recurring roles. They are also probably factoring in space/money for CM and AM (and maybe RB, but she has been less definitive about things so I'll leave her out). So that takes us to 16-20 characters, depending on if you want to include the 4 recurring.

So there really can't be that many (if any) more additions if we're we're assuming a cast of about 17-20 (which was the range tossed around earlier on, although I don't remember where that came from).
