NYC

LuAnn is a narcisstic bitch and she is truly showing her ass this season. The level of pretension is reminding me of her from season 1/2 when I didnt like her. Im finding myself siding with everyone she argues with, especially Bethenny whom I dont like

Sonja comes across like a 50 something college sorority girl. She's harmless. I think its f--ked up how LuAnn and now Ramona have messed with her exes. What happened to girl code?

It was good seeing Mario again but how messy was it of Ramona to invite him to a part that her current man is at?

How is Barbara not a housewife? She is always there and in the middle of the mix. It took me about 7 episodes to realize she wasnt even in the opening bc I thought she was a new wife.

BH

Who said that drunk twit Brandi could come back? Did not miss her at all.

Camille REALLY should have gotten a diamond this season. Anyone know why she didnt? Not only is she in every episode, has talking heads and is in the middle of the mess, she is showing her private life, from her wedding and new husband and even her daughter.  She has been giving us more than alot of other wives on other shows

I like Denise but she's boring. For her sake, she should leave bc I can see her upping the fake drama to be relevant next season and ruin people's perception of her. Im also sick of hearing her talk about Charlie. She needs a new talking point

Let us reminisce...

Favorite LVP moment: Pandora's wedding/ any glamour shot of her home porn/closet porn.

Lisa has never been my fave, she's a bit tedious but I love the fabulousity she brought to the show.

Least favorite LVP moment: Whenever she was mean to Kim, disguised by her "british humour".

I'll miss her, but I hope TPTB bring on another wealthy AF woman.

Random: I wouldn't mind if Faye joined the show. She and Rinna will either be BFFs or mortal enemies. No in between.

Forgive me for discussing  older seasons, but I finally caught up with Season 7 of NYC and what a MARVELOUS season it was!

First, the obvious: Bethenny's return was incredibly welcome and she was absolutely hilarious. Her journal moments constantly had me laughing.

Ramona did change while also still being recognizably her crazy self. What a fascinating woman.

LuAnn, too. I love to hate her Countess persona.

Rounding it all up, the ever fascinating Sonja. I loved her fashion line storyline.

As long as these four women are around, NYC is NYC for me.

Overall, I really liked all the storylines and how they pretty much lasted the entire season, all with beginning, middle, and ends.

I have also grown to just LOVE Carole. How cool, smart, and unique she is. I really dig that chick.

After a season, I'm still not sure how I feel about Dorinda, but her and Carole's storyline of facing their grief over their husbands together was excellent, touching stuff.

Heather barely had anything to do. But the real trashbox is Kristen. What is even her purpose? She had zero storyline. Zero presence. When she spoke, I was like, gurl, the grownups are talking now. Hell, she had an entire 10th wedding anniversary party the show didn't even bother putting into the regular episodes. She adds nothing.

The MOST ridiculous scene of the season was probably the Fυck-you-dinner. Really? REALLY?!

The season was so good that even during the reunion, where you think they can't possibly pull off anything else, Ramona falls asleep. Classic. CLASSIC. And then when all the ladies started hugging each other and Andy was like

I really love that they aren't toxic and actually, despite occasional craziness, can listen to each other and resolve things. I adore the NY directness. It feels like these women know each other and can co-exist beyond the scope of the show.

I watched the NYC 100th episode special they did a few years ago and that was a lot of fun. I do occasionally miss Jill but only a little and only temporarily. But apparently there was a housewife named Cindy? I've watched every episode of this show ever and I don't recall her AT. ALL. Not that surprised though, she only rated one clip of a few seconds.

Maybe having Jill back would be fun. But no, God, please no Alex and her gay husband! What weird little ducks they were.

    • I think maybe viewers needed a break from Aaron Spelling by 1985 or 1986. He had a series, Macgruder and Loud, which I recall, even as a young teen, getting TONS of promotion with even a post-Super Bowl slot, and it failed. Viewers probably were - as said here - tired of soapy fare and went elsewhere. But they must have missed him since, as we know, Spelling rose from the TV ashes in the '90s with Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place!
    • I’ve been enjoying the pace the show has taken recently. Things don’t languish as long as they have and if they are drawing something out, like Gio’s adoption, it’s hasn’t been as excruciating. Also, my nosey nature would appreciate less interaction with posters I have on ignore so I don’t have to click on “options”.

    • Okay...I'm just going to call it. Ambyr Michelle is the breakout star of this show with the young set hands down! There is no character like Eva that pulls my heart strings, and she's playing it perfectly. If Eva and Leslie are on, it's a good episode! If written properly, Eva and Kat's rivalry is one that could go on for YEARS. Of course, it's fun to speculate about who is really whom, but I could see them developing as frenemies after some time. They really need a guy to tussle over to amp it up. Tomas is pretty, but the actor has got to loosen up some in his scenes, I think. He is improving though. It would be good to introduce a new young man in that story for a foursome.  Martin and Smitty finally feel like a real couple to me, too. Hopefully, they locked them into four year contracts.
    • I'll be that guy and say I don't think TMG is a fool. This is a popular contract role on a year-round soap opera for a woman of a certain age (to say nothing of a woman of color). If I'm her I pull a Kimberlin Brown and ride this til the wheels fall off.
    • Tbf it's not unusual for a family when they are dealing with some bad news that changes a life to use song to give out hope.Especially black families. I personally had to deal with that very thing this weekend. Partly off putting, but at the same time, I did get the point and it gave me a bit of hope in the moment.      MM is definitely acting. But Smitty is just so passive. It could turn into quiet strength at some point, but for now...passive IMO.
    • Am I remembering correctly that the Madison's lived in a Spanish revival-style house? I have a vague recollection of the fireplace looking especially Spanish in style. It is unusual that Montecello had so many architectural styles.  Obviously, that might occur IRL.  But, look at other east coast soaps and there is a definitive style that is throughout (because it was styled by a set decorator) regardless of the income of the occupants.
    • @kalbir MSW was a powerhouse for CBS. Angela Lansbury was a superb actress. In 1985, TV viewers were tiring of the primetime soaps and the like. People wanted storytelling and MSW was great at that and had great guest stars. Storytelling -- an amazing and novel concept. CBS Daytime by 1985 was beating ABC so CBS was on the upswing.
    • I'd say just the opposite - conflict means they will find out and then be at odds. For the limited amount of time people on this show have conflict (if they aren't named Nina or Ric, I guess).
    • Totes mcgoats (aka I agree). But, now the character needs to move forward.  Clyde's exit was 12/11/24.  It is May.  She and Chad have been on one date. I don't think they've slept together. And she was only planning on sticking around for a year.
    • That is one of the best insults I've heard in a long time.  I burst out laughing when Kat called Eva that.  LOL Their scenes, of course, were really good.  Colby and Ambyr have so much chemistry.  The only thing I'd change is Kat saying "you're dead to me."  That's a phrase usually said about someone you care about.  I would've preferred something like "You will never be my sister," or something similar to that.  Nice contrast at the end with both mothers/daughters:  Kat comforting/consoling her mother, and Eva being locked out by her mother.  Yeah, I wasn't a big of fan of the singing either, especially after your daughter's life has been destroyed.  What?  LOL And I also agree with those that thought Dana/Leslie's scenes with the Dupree's didn't feel right since Eva is not a Dupree....unless she is.  But as of right now, she's not.
