I think people are expecting too much where the ratings are concerned for AMC. Declines in the ratings are about offline viewers who give up, it will take a lot to bring them back, if that's even possible. All this short-term buzz doesn't matter.

On another topic, it looks like OLTL's reign with the tween girls is over.

A 3.9 for Y&R on a Tuesday...like Victor Newman would say, "Well I'll be damned!" Y&R has improved substantially and is very enjoyable, I hope, someday soon, the show can creep back into the 4s...dare to dream right?

B&B is stable...some would say stagnant. I find it enjoyable and the fact that the ratings haven't gone down says that other people think so too.

GH, well my my my, it FINALLY hit 3 million viewers on Friday. I'm sure Frons pissed himself with glee...unfortunately, the show has still lost a boatload of viewers compared to last year, ditto OLTL and AMC.

AMC needs all the promotion it can get. La Lucci being on DWTS is the best thing that can happen to this show...with decent promotion and some decent writing AMC could rise.

I don't watch P&G soaps anymore (it was AW for me) but the GL numbers are HORRIBLE! When will the show hit a rating to deserve cancellation? PC and PASS were canceled with higher numbers that GL!

LOL. I'm just shocked I tell ya that viewers aren't tuning in to see pregnant Reva.

We all know that GL will be gone next year. There's no hope left. The only interesting thing to see between now and then ratings wise is how low the ratings will go. How Ellie Wheeler could possibly think that viewers would tune in to this drivel shows how out of touch with reality she is.

I think the Sonny/Carly romp was revealed to their respective significant others, I could be off by a week or so there.

Could be that as well as possibly bad storytelling. AMC was bad in the summer/fall of 2006, but the numbers didn't start hitting all those new lows until the shaky cameras took full effect.

ETA:

I don't know when the diff. camera work started, but prior to this point GL had only hit one low in each category in 2008:
