Last week's stupor-fest was... I cannot even describe it.

I wish I could say that it is only Amber who is ruining the show, and while, yes, she so definitely is, she ain't the only stinker. OMG, did I just see Neil have a freakin NERVOUS BREAKDOWN over putting too much of Mamie's "special spices" in Lily's salad? Um, are they for real?! This passes for Soap Opera?

Phyllis trying to convince Nick that they have the Greatest Love of All Time: "We played video games. And had amazing sex." Woah. Hott. Love in the Afternoon taken to a whole new level. Of crapness!

Carson. Plum. Cane. Bonnacheck. Somebody calling herself "Colleen." Who the f*** are these people? They all look alike. And sound Australian.

Anyhoo, I guess what I'm saying is that I won't be watching Y&R anymore for a bit. I plan to substitute it with Passions, by far the better quality show, writing, acting and production-wise. And I'm not being facetious when I say that. Ben Masters, Andrea Evans, Lindsay Hartley, Liza Huber, Juliet Mills and Tracey Ross are wiping the floor with the competition right now. They have so much love and commitment for their show, for their SLs, despite the fact that it is moving from network to a small cable outlet. They believe in it, and the writing believes in them right now.

I hear you...The discussion thread that once waas about what we liked about the show has now become a place to talk about what is crappy about the week...and it keeps getting worse and worse.

First off; there was no need to re-write the history of Kay and Jill just to bring in a son that should have stayed gone. It messed up every ounce of rich history between Katherine and Jill. It was one thing to have Jill be Katherine's daughter; ut to erase the history in a sense just to bring on some dude that I still say ISN'T Jill's son was just dumb to me.

Then we have useless characters like Jana and Amber...Who cares about them? It took us I don't know how long to figure out who the heck she was to begin with (and in the process giving us un-needed viewing of Brad's stupid and worthless past).

Then we have constant firings of excellent cast members that were a focal point of the show...

At most I will read what has happened; but I wont 'be watching as I once did. It's quite sad because Y&R was one of my favorite shows.

SweetNYGal, you summed up everything I think is wrong with Y&R of late -- this obsessive rewriting of history, ignorance of history, actually, which has turned Y&R into a show of LML's own creation.

It makes me sad, too, because I first watched Y&R in the late 1980s. In a matter of months it has become unrecognizeable. And not even very good.

There isn't much to discuss here except how much each day sucks. That's all I have to say.

The scene of Daniel admitting his addiction to Michael was good. I don't understand how people can watch a rapist's reformation, but a porn addict is SO not worth their time.

I thought those scenes were well done too. But nothing else held my interest. I tuned out to everything else on today.

thoroughly enjoyed Jill and Cane freaking out on Amber.

That guy that plays Daniel does wonderful work when he can play opposite of a great actor or actress. that's why I'm happy Daniel & Lily are breaking up. they are breaking up for a stupid reason but at least they are breaking up.

I guess because porn addiction just isn't all that interesting to me. It has nothing to do with porn addiction being morally worse than statutory rape. Quite the opposite. I just think Kevin was a much more interesting character back then than Daniel is right now.

Even Kevin was boring for the longest time. As far as I'm concerned he should be Y&R's answer to Todd Manning. When he's good, it's just not that interesting. When he's straddling that line between good and bad, I'm way more invested. Kevin is a tortured, abused soul. Daniel is just a whiny frat boy who can't stop looking at porn. I know it's a real issue for some people, but I just don't care about it. I'd much rather see Kevin plotting intricate revenge schemes. Screw reformation. I like Kevin on the bad side.

Daniel and Michael's scene was the highlight of the show today. Finally Daniel admitted outloud that he was addicted to porn. Now I hope he can get help and we can be done with this s/l.

Loved Cane and Jill going off on Amber. Other than that, it was the usual plot-driven rubbish we've all come to loathe.

I thought that Michael/Daniel's scene was very touching but that was just the only good part of the whole hour. B&B seems to be way better than what LML is shoveling out.

However, though there are numerous fans on soapboards who hate LML and her writing style, not all of the 4.0 Y&R fanbase is online. Look at who was voted as most popular character: Amber???!!!! There are still, like my mother, who are the diehard Y&R fans out there who are clueless to what LML is doing!

I thought the Daniel and Micheal scenes were fantastic. The acting was WOW. Finally Micheal gets to act. I love that Cristian made Micheal bring it and he brought it.

As for Kevin, he rocks. I agree with another poster, he is my Todd Manning of Y&R. He is not always good but not always bad either. He has the best one liners in the world. He just rocks. I want to see if he has chemistry with this Nu-Colleen because certainly had it with Adrianne.

I am a Phick fan but I think right now Phyllis needs to be away from Nick because he dont know what he want to do and if he wants Sharon so bad let her be free. Let he move out the house, take Summer and Daniel and make a name for themselves and if/when Nick wants her back then come on baby.

God this show is a complete and utter hot mess of piss poor contrivance and shitty writing.

people still watch Y&R? Passions is more entertaining than this mess.
