Latest SOD says that another behind the scenes staffer will soon follow Jack Smith off the show.

Kay Alden or Ed Scott? Who's taking bets?

I think KA.

I am confused. I thought that KA was already gone and writing for another CBS soap. And who is Ed Scott?

Edward Scott is Victor Newman ahem the real-life husband of Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki). He was Y&R's executive producer for many years and is now supervising producer...

Probably Kay Alden....

I hope LML atleast knows the history of these characters before she fires all the ones who do.

Kay Alden is doing "Ghost Consulting" on As the World Turns. Her name is not on the credits, and we're not supposed to know that.

But consulting is not very much work, so she could still be at "Y&R" writing and doing the consulting on the side.

Consulting is just "advising" the HW or Producers what should happen next and how it should happen. It's not like writing a show.

Josh Griffith and [s.W.S.N.B.N.] are "Ghost Consulting" on "Y&R", but the credits only mention Josh as Co-Executive Producer, because Boof said in a radio interview she doesn't want her name on the credits and she's working without a contract. She didn't name the show she's on, but everybody knows now that she's been seen with Josh at CBS studios in Burbank a few times.

Charles Pratt, Jr. is "Ghost Consulting" for "Guiding Light" and "Bold and the Beautiful" and it's rumored he will take over as HW of either show.

CBS is using different "ghost writers" on all their shows right now off-contract. They plan on staying #1.

Pratt and Guza were vile this past run at GH, but I'd be willing to give Pratt another chance. He did great things on Melrose Place, is involved with Desperate Housewives and since he took over at Vanished, it's been amazing. I also have heard that his pilot at ABC (Secrets of A Small Town with Tyler Christopher) was great.

Not sure what happened at GH, but he may strike gold again.

I sincerely doubt that William Shakespeare or Charles Dickens could write good soap for Disney/ABC production, let alone any modern day scribe.

Yeah, I guess Brian Frons is more of a headwriter than anyone. He decides which characters are used, which is why Laura only returned so they could pimp her out for the Luke & Laura 25th.

Any chance that whoever gets fired will come to an ABC soap??? Although didn't Errol say that Frons already tried to get Alden and it didn't work out for some reason. Maybe she will reconsider if she is actually leaving.

I do thinnk Y&R needs to be careful about all the changes that they are making. I am glad that they want the show to succeed but firing too many people that have a history and understanding of the show could end up hurting them in the long run.

But didn't his show get picked up for midseason by ABC? If that's true, I doubt he'll go and work for GL?

Kay Alden is doing "Ghost Consulting"...

How accurate are these information? In percentage points? :D

In one year the entire Y&R writing staff has been completely shooken up. Time will tell if all these long time writers given the boot will come back to haunt Y&R. It isn't yet but they are getting rid of alot history.

Kay Alden is badly needed at AMC... if she is indeed on her way out. However, should LML majorly mess up at Y&R, Alden will be more desperately needed than ever.

Kay Alden was a disaster at Y&R, she is definitely not needed. And I still maintain that she is barely a step up from MctTavish and would be an awful headwriter for AMC.

Crazy weak women, overload of baby drama, teen overload. These are the things she specialized in and most certainly isn't what AMC needs. I'd be willing to give her a shot, but I also gave Dena Higley a shot and we all see how well that worked out. These people may start out good, but they always seem to fall into their traps.
