  1. Polls don't matter anymore. People are actually voting now. Let me repeat: POLLS DON'T MATTER ANYMORE. PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY VOTING NOW. Georgia is seeing record breaking turnout. Why would you focus on a poll which is just a few hundred people instead of looking at what's actually happening on the ground? This is going to sound harsh and I promise that it's not directed at you personally... A lot of folks have got to deal with their 2016 PTSD. My social media is filled with hypervigilance, catastrophizing, and paranoia which the algorithms just keep feeding. It's not like we haven't had any elections since then. Republicans have been losing for years.
  2. I don't believe the race is tied. I know that social media is obsessed with that idea but I don't buy it. When OH put a repro rights amendment on the ballot, it passed 53 to 47. I think this race is similar.
  3. And the hits just keep on coming.
  4. And here's the thing: he's only going to get worse. He can't get better. Whatever cocktail they have him on isn't working anymore. I'm still waiting for a major medical event.
  5. I'm just saying....
  6. If Ohio can pass a repro rights amendment and recreational cannabis, Florida can too. You're actually in better shape than we were. Ohio GOP tried twice to screw over voters by scheduling special elections. When I voted this week I heard another poll worker tell a voter, "Once you're done, you don't have to come back until next year." So much of the energy in my state is voters basically saying "We said what we said."
  7. A lot of people never processed their 2016 PTSD and it colors their thinking now. There's no argument for Trump winning that isn't based on PTSD, polls, and/or vibes. There's no fact-based argument that he's doing better now than in 2020.
  8. Thompson lost a book deal because Biden was too boring and no one wanted a book about Biden. He's had a hate boner for Biden ever since. As for the suggestion that Dems are in the doldrums, that's just the Beltway press climbing up their own ass. This was my Board of Elections yesterday for the first day of early voting. I went to vote on my lunch hour but between parking and the lines I knew I wouldn't make it back before a meeting I had scheduled. I've never seen the Board of Ed so busy not even for Obama.
  9. I'm not sure about that. I just saw a commercial for a movie starring Mel Gibson.
  10. I will truly never forgive what was done to that man. I can't even watch clips of him because it fills me with sadness and rage.
  11. Whatever my complaints about Murphy, the music in his projects is always on point. The Milli Vanilli songs (Yes. Songs. As in plural. 🙂) sent me careening back into my past. I'll be honest, I barely remember the crime. My sharpest memories are of the trial of them both.
  12. I don't believe he's getting a bump. Trump has hit his ceiling. The only people voting for Trump are the magats who were always going to vote for him.
  13. This isn't 2016. So much of the machine that put Trump in office has been dismantled and folks know what's at stake now. I mean Dick Cheney just endorsed Kamala Harris. And I'm going to keep screaming this....DOBBS! You can't compare pre- and post-Dobbs elections. This was true back when Joe was the candidate. (Also, why I think he would've won no matter what.)
  14. And the attacks on Walz are so pitiful and, yes, weird. They keep claiming he lies about stuff no sane person would lie about. Claiming he lied about his military service? That was never going to work but now especially not after Arlington. Claiming he lied about how they had their children? Nobody cares. That's their private business. Every attack just highlights their own toxicity. It wins them not a single new vote.
  15. Same here in Ohio. Lately a lot of people have been looking at JD Vance and wondering how Tim Ryan could lose to such a repellant person and the truth is because Ohio is just chock full of awful people. You need look no further than our state house. It's filled criminals, perverts, and Christian nationalists. Look up the Center for Christian virtue. They have been dragging this state back to the stone age.
  16. Except I think Perot was a serious candidate. A bad one, but a serious one. I actually think it started with Ron Paul. I remember when the internet was full of "Ron Paul 2012" nonsense.
  17. He's such a non-factor. I miss the days when people would basically ignore when obvious kooks ran for president.
  18. Personally I think it's because she's behind enemy lines. She a billionaire. A Black billionaire. People can claim it's about her money but money is important. She sent hundreds of men to Morehouse. People want to blame her for Drs. Oz and Phil but she deserves credit for helping to create Black doctors.
  19. I've tried to stay away from conjecture but it wouldn't surprise me at all if Beyonce shows up and performs with them given their histories. The symbolism on that would be pretty hard to resist given how The Chicks were treated in the 90s and how Bey was treated at the CMAs.
  20. It's not just the financial implications of life post-Trump. If we can control Congress, we might be able to pass some laws around media ownership and that terrifies them.
  21. Because it's not about him. It's about what he represents.
  22. All that's going to do is backfire. I have no doubt that plenty of people Vance went to high school, college and served in the Marines with have plenty more embarrassing photos to share.
  23. It will turn the stomach of a lot of women and men.
  24. Hunter is part of the reason why I'll never forgive this. He was attacked and targeted for years for no other reason than Joe ran for president. Years and years of his worst moments played out in Congressional hearings while his father had to sit by and do nothing. That whole family sacrificed so much.
  25. That's because on some level people know what a shameful thing it was to done to him. That's part of why people keep beating the drum of "JOY!!!" and "ENERGY!!" They're trying to drown out the sound of their own conscience.
