Caught up. Random thoughts: I love how everybody on this show has fabulous hair, even the white actors. Victoria Rowell has been vindicated! LOL! Watching the scene of Daphne Duplaix sitting next to Tamera Tunie. What perfect casting. They absolutely look like family. I don’t mind Ashley like some others do. Martin and Smitty. Good concept but not working for all kinds of reasons. How long before Vanessa, Chelsea, and Diego end up at some Eyes Wide Shut orgy at one of Vanessa’s properties?

Biden expected this and took measures to make sure Ukraine could get what it needed from Europe. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if he's still in touch with Zelensky.

He can't do that. An executive order doesn't have that kind of power. They basically let him sign EOs as a way of keeping a senile mind entertained. People have got to stop giving this animal power he doesn't have.

BTG: February 2025 Discussion Thread
I’m caught up. A few thoughts: The complaints about the dialogue make sense. Something to remember though is that everything is tell and not show. It’s the soap version of world-building. I’m confident the dialogue will get more natural once we don’t need to be reminded of who everybody is. The look of the show is amazing. Hair, makeup, fashions, sets, etc… A little over the top for my taste but I know what they’re going for so I’m not going to complain. I’m having a little trouble figuring out how old everyone is supposed to be and who’s related to whom because Black don’t crack” and everyone looks amazing. I’m not going to pretend that I remember who all these characters are and I don’t want to ding anyone’s acting skill. Something actors seem stronger than others but a lot of them are newish and this is a whole new world for them. I will wait to see who pops out. For me right now it’s Naomi. That actress had to portray a lot of heavy emotions and I think she did well. By the end of the week, she was the character my eye looked for. I have my issues with Kara Mosley but I think she’s best right now when she lets us see Dani’s hurt. Her version of anger gives me Faye Dunaway in Mommy Dearest vibes. It’s one thing for Dani to be extra. It’s a whole different thing for Dani to be crazy. Tamara Tunie looking like Storm in a satin suit was the Black History Month present I didn’t know I needed.

Watching my morning news and I'm noticing something. The channel I'm watching is very GOP friendly. It's not Newsmax but they have a clear leaning. When they were reporting on the Delta plane crash they mentioned that it's the fourth crash in "under a month." They are trying hard not to tie it to Trump but you can tell that they are doing the same math everyone else is.

But not remotely surprising. He's a sick man who will end badly.

Nobody. Dems are a big tent. (Too big in my opinion) There can't be one voice. The idea that there needs to be just one ignores the reality that we're supposed to be a coalition. Also, I've watched the Dem voters screw over Obama, Hillary, Biden, and Harris. Ask yourself why anyone would want to be the voice of the party when all they'll get is non-stop criticism, sabotage, and treachery. No support. No encouragement. Just toxic abuse from "activists." Maxwell Frost posted then deleted this but he was absolutely right.

No he wasn't. He's always been garbage. I spent the primary trying to get people to realize that his shotgun incident was a sign of poor character but people were hypnotized by the hoodie. An honest look at his behavior and history would show this was perfectly predictable. I just wish people would learn from this and stop falling prey to "vibes" but the number of people out here calling AOC the "opposition leader" tells me that won't happen.

He won't last the year. David Hogg has never held a real job. I predict he will spend the next few moths running his mouth on cable news and when he discovers he actually has to do some work, he'll quit and claim he was undermined by "centrists" and "establishment Dems."

This is how they're soothing him. By letting him play "The Apprentice."

No he didn't. He just said whatever came to his mind. I'm begging people to stop acting like this animal is of sound mind. The election was not "rigged." What happened is white people, 54 percent of Latino men, and leftists all gassed up about Gaza chose to do harm.

I disagree. Harris lost by something like 150,000 votes in swing states. If people truly believe that she lost because too many people didn't want to vote for a Black woman then it's time to also admit that Joe Biden would've gotten those votes. Nobody wants to admit it but this race was lost the minute George Clooney dropped his column. Joe Biden was the new Bill Clinton. He walked a picket line to show support for the working class and also paid off student loans which was supposed to endear him to progressives. In the end he was betrayed and abandoned by white voter. From left to right, they took his work and voted to destroy the country anyway.

Do we have any Canadians here willing to explain what's going on with our neighbor to the north? Justin Trudeau is resigning?

Happy New Year, everybody. I hope everyone had a peaceful, healthy holiday. Looks like Congress is kicking the year off with plenty of dysfunction and yet, I can't bring myself to care.

She's clearly mentally ill and quite dangerous. She repeatedly claims to be the victim of crimes in order to get attention. She is a conscienceless sociopath who's just looking for her own personal Emmett Till to frame. Even her own former staffers - of which there are many - say she's an utter psycho. The irony is that if she's ever really the victim of a crime nobody will believe her. Same. The press wanted this monster back in office for clicks. By checking out I protect my peace *and* deny them engagement. I've checked out of national politics for the most part. Every success of the Biden administration just reminds me what's been taken from us and it enrages me meanwhile I refuse to give the Trump reality show any time or attention because we know what to expect. As for the Democratic Party, I'm out. I'm sitting on the sidelines and waiting for Jaime Harrison's tell-all book. I'm trying to get more involved with local politics but my city council is an absolute clown show right now and I don't have the energy for it.
