  1. The best service Lawrence performed in that clip was to show the difference of how they treat Biden vs. Trump. There's no way to spin it or deny it. The double standard was shamefully clear.
  2. I've loved Clooney for 30+ years and he destroyed all of that good will in one day.
  3. Everybody's acting like he's garbage that they're relieved to finally put out on the curb. All of this "Joe put country over party" bullshit is just people trying to sugarcoat the cruelty and betrayal of what was done to him. This man ran for this office twice before. He came out of retirement to run again. He finally got the job, saved us from COVID, rebuilt the economy, instituted policies that actually helped people and what was his reward? He was publicly humiliated by people claiming to "love" and "respect" him and shoved out of office because of vibes and polls. Now everyone is cheering about "excitement" and "momentum" and yelling "Let's go!!" every ten seconds because at the end of the day this is all about entertainment.
  4. You would've made better work of it.
  5. I checked my ActBlue account and I've donated about $15,000 over the last six years. It's not Clooney money but it was important to me. I feel like an idiot. I should've bought a car or a few more trips to Broadway.
  6. I don't have to do a single thing. These people have tossed Harris into a woodchipper. The press wanted to beat up on the Black lady and the party just said "Here you go!" I'm already preparing myself for President Vance.
  7. I'm out. I'm done. I've officially checked out on this race and the Democratic Party. I've ended all recurring donations including to the state party. I want nothing to do with a party that would do what we just saw done to Joe Biden.
  8. I can't find the comments that led to this but I'm going to take a guess. Let's be very clear about something, Donald Trump is a threat to the entire world. If that assassination attempt had been successful, half the planet would've breathed a giant sigh of relief, myself included. If that makes me a bad person so be it. If Putin or Xi or MBS got eliminated the world would celebrate. The same is true for Trump. A lot of folks seem to not understand the concept of us or them. Meanwhile the funeral for the guy killed at the Trump rally is today and the press doesn't GAF.
  9. One of the things I've found most disgusting about the "replace Biden" op is the utter lack of respect and appreciation for what Biden is trying to do. He could've retired and spent his days working on his brain cancer foundation. Instead he brought us back from COVID, saved the economy, made real changes in climate policy, etc... and people want to throw him out after one bad night.
  10. He's at the NAACP. Of course he's in rare form. Biden draws energy from Black crowds. Notice how after his debate he went to Waffle House. Biden has a lifetime pass to the cookout. He knows where he's welcome. Hillary did too. That's part of why the white left hates them both so much.
  11. The Daily Show has canceled its coverage of the RNC because of "safety concerns." Such brave truth tellers.
  12. Here's my theory and I admit it's just that, a theory. His entire view of the world is that it's one big reality TV show. So much of the discourse on dementia has been wrong and intentionally hurtful but Trump has some fairly advanced dementia. He only has a handful of responses to unrehearsed situations. He will always pump his fist or give a thumbs up. Always give the same tough guy squint in photos.
  13. I wondered what it would take to finally get the press to focus on something other than Biden's age. I'd figure it would take a natural disaster but even Houston being in the dark after Hurricane Beryl wasn't enough. This doesn't exactly bode well for the RNC convention next week. 😎
  14. He's already said that or something to that effect multiple times. The press refuses to cover it. There's nothing Biden can do to change the coverage of him because the objective of that coverage is to damage him. Meanwhile it's clearly backfired. Joe is standing up to bullies. The Dem base has been craving that. While white liberals have shown us nothing but weakness and betrayal.
  15. There was no trap. Biden did what millions of people do every day: he went to work sick. That's it. That was his big strategic error. He needed a sick day and didn't take one. The rest is all opportunism by the Beltway press and it's already started to backfire.
  16. That's just more anonymously sourced nonsense. If nobody cite a source by name, then there's no reason to trust what's being reported. For 3.5 years these reporters have been complaining about how boring the Biden White House is because nobody leaks now suddenly they all have "anonymous" sources telling them exactly the narrative they want to spread. You'd rather trust the unnamed source spinning tales of doom than the head of the DNC telling us a concrete number.
  17. No they haven't.
  18. I haven't cared much about ratings since I stopped watching soaps but the tweet below made me realize that we're in the middle of sweeps. To me that adds an interesting bit of context to the frenzied hysteria we're seeing. CNN just laid off 100 people. Ratings and traffic have cratered for much of the media. We can starve them.
  19. I've said this elsewhere but it's telling how all these people start out by saying how much they love Joe Biden then they turn around and stab him in the back. "I love you, not let me publicly humiliate you." It shows a stunning lack of character. Not just the political cowardice but the way they try to frame their betrayal and treachery as something noble that's being done from a place of concern. It's vile.
  20. I heard on the radio this morning the RNC convention is next week. It was the first mention I've heard of it. Part of me thinks that part of this anti-Biden feeding frenzy has been about reducing expectations for Trump next week. It was a pre-emptive strike. I want protesters to show up dressed in shark costumes and pictures of Hannibal Lechter with "Trump thinks I'm real" scrawled across them. The RNC is going to be a circus so the media decided to try and force a brokered DNC convention.
  21. Carl, you're spiralling. Maybe it's time to tap out for a little while. This op to oust Biden has failed. The backlash has just begun and it's fierce. Meanwhile Gaza isn't an issue anymore because most of that was astroturfed too. Meanwhile the GOP has no money, no ground game, and Donald Trump hasn't had a public event in 10 days.
  22. And that's what these people don't understand. This kind of behavior doesn't win them votes. It hurts Republicans because it drives away decent people in the very demos that vote most reliably.
  23. I think of us as this site's Professor X and Magneto. We've seen some stuff but we know what matters. 😎
  24. People already throw their privacy away so I'm not sure that's even a real factor anymore. One of the things we need to return to is limitations on how many media outlets one entity can own. Sinclair shouldn't be able to own 40+ local TV stations to spread their lies.
  25. Looks like we're gonna be fighting about this. Fine. It's been a while since we scrapped. 😄 Nobody outside of the twitter/cable news bubble cares. This is still a Dobbs election. The NYTimes hates that but they can't fight it. Biden could be a million years old but he's the only one supporting reproductive rights.
