  1. Did ABC get to the level where Monday Night Football and Home Improvement were basically keeping it afloat?
  2. Noah hasn't had any story of relevance since his late 2000s SORAS.
  3. Another divorce for Sharon would be ridiculous. I say have Rey killed in the line of duty, and widowed Sharon rebuilds her life in the aftermath. Then she can turn to either Nick or Adam.
  4. We all know how Victor calls people he doesn't like/trust by their full name.
  5. The regime changes almost overlap w/ the trajectory of the series. Season 1, good start. Seasons 2 and 3, the peak. Season 4, still good but signs of tanking were showing. Seasons 5 and 6, tanking. Season 7, tanking but signs of going off the rails were showing. Seasons 8 and 9, off the rails plus budget mode. Maybe it's me but I thought venturing into James Bond territory during seasons 2-4 w/ the international crime group and war crimes storylines were attempts to shed the Dallas with grapes reputation, but that wasn't the way to go about it. I guess any series in the 1980s where the focus was on family/business conflicts was going to get compared to Dallas.
  6. EB's first episode and Christmas 1981 top my wishlist.
  7. More garbage time, yuck. We are one year away from Y&R's 50th anniversary.
  8. The aftermath of Blade's death and discovering Rick's deception was Brenda Epperson's exit story. It looked liked Ashley was going to have another emotional breakdown but instead she left Genoa City for three months.
  9. Second half of 1994 through first half of 1997 was the off-track era. It overlapped w/ the aftermath of OJ and the huge rise of Reilly's Days. Y&R almost got beat by Reilly's Days in June 1997.
  10. @Chris 2 I didn't know about the change in audience measuring method. Thanks for that info.
  11. Bringing Rey and Chelsea together makes no sense, but that's current Y&R for you I guess.
  12. CBS dropped to 3rd in 1987/88. Murder She Wrote was a solid hit but the rest of the drama lineup was not looking so good heading into Fall 1987. Dallas fell out of the Top 10 the previous season. Cagney & Lacey, Falcon Crest, Knots Landing; Magnum, P.I.; Simon & Simon were aging. The Equalizer wasn't really a hit. The only new drama from the previous season to return that fall was Houston Knights. As far as comedies go, Newhart and Kate & Allie were still going strong, but CBS had been struggling to launch successful new comedies for the previous three seasons. The only new comedies from the previous season to return that fall were Designing Women and My Sister Sam. What happened in 1987/88 that caused CBS's primetime lineup to tank?
  13. @soapfan770 Why are you giving Josh Griffith ideas to ruin one of Bill Bell's most unforgettable characters?
  14. @Cat Any alleged drug use on the set was not happening when LLB made her school break appearances and it was probably over for good once LLB became a full-time cast member.
  15. I'm so done right now 🤣
  16. OMG @Khan you are killing me 🤣 Just think, if that promo was made a decade later it would have Urkel and two decades later it would have Shemar Moore 🥰
  17. CBS was really trying to grab the female audience with this promo.
  18. This surprises me, as I always thought Bill Bell was zero tolerance as far as substance abuse goes. We all know that JC went to rehab in the 1980s.
  19. I can't believe B&B made it to 35. Will they make it to 40? B&B is the 10th daytime drama to reach 35 years on US network television. As of today, the 10 longest running daytime dramas on US network television are General Hospital, Guiding Light, Days, As the World Turns, Y&R, One Life to Live, All My Children, Search for Tomorrow (counting both CBS years and NBC years), Another World, B&B. B&B will move past Another World on May 16 and will move past Search for Tomorrow on July 18.
  20. Do not give Josh Griffith ideas.
  21. Let's see, Perfect Strangers, Full House, Family Matters, Step by Step. Those are the ones I remember watching BITD. I think Full House was the biggest hit of all of them. Urkel crossed over to Full House and Step by Step but there was no Urkel crossover with Perfect Strangers.
  22. How is it going to be explained that Diane stayed out of Kyle's life for 11 years (in real time)?
  23. Going back to the writer's strike delayed 1988/89 season, the breakout hit of that season was Roseanne, and it was the first show to threaten The Cosby Show's dominance. 1989/90 would see Roseanne tie The Cosby Show for #1. The first two seasons of Roseanne also overlapped with the Top 10 fallouts of family sitcoms Growing Pains, ALF, Who's the Boss. It was a sign that sitcom tastes were changing.
  24. How is this going to be explained? Lookalike, imposter, unknown twin.
  25. Maury Povich's catchphrase will forever be "You are not the father!"
