  1. Adam Wade Dead: Singer, Actor, Pioneering Game Show Host Was 87 – The Hollywood Reporter
  2. It's been posted here many times over the years that the CBS soaps highest ratings are in the South and Midwest whereas the ABC soaps highest ratings are in the Northeast and on the West Coast. As for Y&R rise to #1 from 1982/83 (becoming CBS's #1 daytime drama) to 1988/89 (becoming the #1 daytime drama overall), it's a combination of strong lead ins The Price is Right or local news, weak time slot competition, not chasing all the trends (Y&R got Dallas/Dynasty influence right but action/adventure didn't really suit Y&R, and Bill Bell didn't seem to be big on the supercouple craze), and holding on to their audience during the writer's strike.
  3. My top 3 actresses are Susan Flannery, Darlene Conley, and Joanna Johnson. Of note is that Darlene Conley was B&B's first Daytime Emmy nominee in the acting categories. I cannot for the life of me pick top 3 actors.
  4. B&B had an earthquake in spring 1994. Los Angeles had an earthquake in January 1994.
  5. Chelsea and Chloe have been irrelevant for years and both can go. Sally has basically filled their spots on the show.
  6. Are Noah and Allie trying to channel the OG Billy and Mac story?
  7. @soapfan770 To think some soap names that were mentioned for Victoria in 2005 were Sarah Brown and Christie Clark. What could've been.
  8. No indication of a Diane/Ashland hook up. I so think that's going to happen.
  9. ‘Magnum P.I.’ Rescued By NBC With 2-Season, 20-Episode Order – Deadline
  10. @Taoboi Imani and Nate are so gonna hook up, just watch.
  11. Was this when JC was in rehab?
  12. Is Bradley paying homage 30 years later to the GL blackout?
  13. I cannot believe Drake now has more #1s on the Billboard Hot 100 than Janet Jackson, and that he is now tied with Whitney Houston. The next solo artists in line for him to tie with are Madonna (12), Michael Jackson (13), and Rihanna (14).
  14. Bill Bell stepped down from Y&R in 1998, so he may have still been involved at B&B to some degree from 1993 to 1998.
  15. Still no word if there is going to be a special episode for Jess Walton's 35th anniversary. If there isn't then maybe during the 50th anniversary week there might be something Jill-focused, since Jill is the only original character left.
  16. @cassadine1991 Based on the episode number sometime in 1993. It lines up with my theory that the Belief storyline was Bill Bell's last hurrah for B&B before he passed the reigns to Bradley.
  17. Let's remember too that it took until 2009 for a Black woman to even be nominated for Lead Actress.
  18. 2022 is the first year since 2016 where all the main acting categories have first-time winners.
  19. Yeah, odd that Jerry Douglas wasn't mentioned. The In Memoriam segment at tonight's Daytime Emmys is really going to hit hard.
  20. The Daytime Emmys lost their pop culture relevance once Susan Lucci's streak was over. Remember that her win was the only time that a Daytime Emmy win got a People cover story.
  21. July 8 will be 30 years since Melrose Place premiered. I feel the same way about Melrose Place as I do about Beverly Hills 90210, no nostalgia for it and no longing to rewatch it. The first three seasons of Melrose Place were the best. I lost interest during the 4th season and never went back to it.
  22. @soapfan770 I don't remember the "Get it On" promos causing a stir. For whatever reason I don't find the promos from mid-1990s onward memorable in the way that "Feel the Heat" (1985) to "Try Me" (1992) were.
  23. Texas oil millionaire Blake Hayes was a 1980s holdover in 1991.
