  1. Sami annoys me, but her ratting out Belle to Shawn just highlights how complicated Sami's ties to both are since, like Brady, she is related to both. Belle, of course, being her half-sister. And Shawn (Douglas) is her first cousin since Bo and Roman are (half, but Bo is considered a full Brady) brothers. Belle is also Brady's half-sister and Shawn is also Brady's first cousin, since Bo and Isabella were brother and sister.
  2. May Terry/danfling rest in peace.
  3. Sigh. It's stuff like this why soaps are seen as so antiquated. The ol' former girlfriend/side piece is pregnant (or pretending to be). It's 2024. Just agree to co-parent and go on your merry way, people. But no. Just another guy who must break up with the one he actually loves for a spawn, I'm betting. Sigh. If I'm wrong? FANTASTIC. But it's still Ron's stuff, so I doubt it. And I don't even LIKE Tate and Holly, but come the hell ON, now. The 1950s tropes will not die.
  4. Hate to bring this thread back up for something so trivial, but reading through about old sets, and I have to say that I also LOVED that loft set. Yes, John/Isabella lived there. Didn't Jen stay there at some point, too? Besides the aforementioned Steve/Kayla and Bo/Hope... I do know that set got tons of use, and I miss it to this day. On topic: It's crazy that, at the end of the month, it will be 3 months since Drake's passing.
  5. But they never aired at the same time, as both Stephens did!
  6. Ironically, Mark Withers' David Hendricks' evil conniving much-younger stepmother in "To San Francisco With Love" was played by Philece Sampler.
  7. The "thing" with Kristen should have never happened! She babysat him when he was 4, for God's sake, when involved with his father! And no way should Kristen have been able to conceive hellspawn Rachel, either.
  8. Recognized Jenna Stern right away. She was all over the Law & Order franchise. Besides SVU and the original, she appeared on Law & Order: Criminal Intent in four different episodes as four different characters. While it was her smallest role of the four and not central as the other three roles were, she played the lawyer of Roy Scheider's (a.k.a. Chief Brody of Jaws fame) evil serial killer character, Mark Ford Brady, in the Season 6 episode, "Endgame". I believe it was one of Scheider's last roles. (Her other roles took place in the first season, Season 4, and Season 10, the show's final season!)
  9. True, but he still could have been involved in some fashion, even if John were the main hero. I mean, Marlena and Roman did share children. But even if he wasn't, Roman could have had his own stuff going on, if Reilly cared even one iota. I don't know why the poor treatment of Wayne bothers me since, as I said, he was not even Roman when I started. But maybe it's because, without his version, there'd be no RoJohn to begin with, and it just seems awful how he was cast aside. (And no, I don't blame Drake, either. He didn't write this stuff! LOL!) With a writer that even tried, I think it could have been interesting to see the two men contrasted - and when necessary, allow their similarities to work together for some common goal. (Maybe Carrie and/or Sami and Eric could have faced some sort of danger or whatnot, and both "fathers" would have to put aside their issues to come together? Just spitballing.)
  10. Yeah, Wayne Northrop was fired as Roman in the '90s. I admit, when I started Days, Drake was in the role, and he was my preference. But I didn't dislike what I saw of Wayne's version, although I do think he was made the "benign heavy". By that, I mean I have always read about and heard how funny and charming his Roman was. (Thank God for some clips that allowed me to see proof!) I saw none of that in his second stint. The writers had him constantly angry [maybe rightfully so as he had his life stolen] at Marlena and Carrie and his immediate family and was just being made to look sour and unpleasant as contrasted with John. But there was no real reason to not allow Roman to lighten up again and allow him to move on with a new love interest as Marlena had. To me, it seemed like James E. Reilly couldn't be bothered in fleshing Roman out after his trauma, just saw him as redundant due to John (as if soaps can only have one good guy?!) and just gave him the heave ho. Which sucks.
  11. Not to be cruel, but there's really no place for Billie now. I don't ever see Bo/Billie again. Hell, the audience has been waiting for a true resolution to the hanging Bo/Hope arc forever. (I only pray recent events bring a resolution.) Chelsea (who should still be dead - the baby was DEAD!) isn't on canvas, Austin isn't around, and it's not like Billie and Lucas had a close sibling relationship. I guess she can tangle with her mother, Kate, but Kate is also on the fringes. Unless Billie mixes it up with Roman again and...no. No. No. *shudder* (But hey, it's not like the show shied away from daughters competing with their own mothers. That was a huge part of the Doug/Julie story with Addie and Hope, etc.!) And, at the heart of it, it wouldn't be Lisa Rinna playing Billie Reed anymore. It would be Lisa Rinna being Lisa Rinna and going overboard with camp, I'm sure. If the show wants to resurrect Billie Reed and tell real stories, there needs to be someone willing to invest in the role, and that's no longer Lisa Rinna. Where is Julie Pinson these days? Pun unintended there. Sorry, Krista Allen's sort of villainous Billie never felt like that same character. (And I say this as someone who wouldn't care if Billie vaporized. Was never a fan, no matter who played her.) As of now, however, there is really no need for Billie.
  12. Glad Joe pardoned Hunter as his trial was a political hatchet job. If he were Hunter Jones, he would have just paid a fine and called it a day. And, as pointed out, all the screeching on the right over this turns to radio silence as their cult leader pardons actual scummy criminals. Let 'em cope.
  13. What awful news. Dementia is the worst. Condolences to Lynn Herring and their sons. What a terrible time for Days, now losing Wayne Northrop, but also Drake Hogestyn and Bill Hayes. James Reilly really treated him horribly during his last Days stint. How sad that both actors to truly make their mark with Roman Brady are now gone. (Sorry to Josh Taylor, but you'll always be Chris Kositchek to me.)
  14. It just hit me, besides Doug and Julie first meeting each other, that Julie's then-hubby was played by none other than BJ Hunnicutt himself, a.k.a. Mike Farrell!
  15. Or, if ABC does feel pressured to rehire him, the network can just give him the bare minimum in terms of contract guarantees and make Jax a talk to. Ingo wouldn't be able to say squat, because technically, he would be employed. He has no say in how such employment would be carried out. To think I once liked Jax and longed for Jax/Alexis. Should have rooted for psycho Jerry/Alexis all along. My apologies, Sebastian Roché!
  16. I'd never watched OLTL, so I can't say if Amanda Setton was any good there, but I have never been overly impressed with her version of Brook Lynn on GH. Soaps - for good or bad - are a medium known for love scenes and showing skin. If that makes Setton uncomfortable, she should make her living doing Hallmark/Great American Family movies and call it a day. I say recast Brook Lynn. Too bad Adrianne Leon no longer seems to be acting. I did enjoy her Brook Lynn very much back in the day.
  17. Thanks for the tag and usual Hunter shout out, @slick jones!
  18. Make no mistake: I despised Chuck Woolery's MAGA-fueled opinions at the end, but I won't celebrate his death. I will save that for one person. You can guess. At least Chuck was entertaining on Love Connection and - in later years - Lingo. So, I'll just remain laser focused on that and offer condolences to those that knew and liked/loved him. I barely remember him from early Wheel of Fortune, too. So, I'll remember him for his game show prowess and leave it there.
  19. Yeah, I'm going to have to skip this. I just lost my dad on the 10th, and this is just too fresh for me. Maybe I'll go back and watch clips much later on if they are available.
  20. Beginning December 16, 2024. (Peacock only carries later seasons of the show for streaming.) Source: https://press.hulu.com/schedule/december-2024/
  21. The newspaper link regarding Yvonne Perry is my area newspaper! Figured, even without the Saratoga Homes credit, that she had ties to my area since I also often used to see her in local television commercials for a local furniture business around here, Taft Furniture.
  22. But is it really an historic first when Generations already did it 35 years ago? (Not saying Beyond The Gates doesn't deserve recognition for trying again AT ALL. Just saying, it was not the first, strictly speaking.)
  23. I thought this election was the worst thing ever [since it reinforced the hatred - one could excuse 2016 as a mistake...but not twice], but like @Vee, I no longer care and am content to let everything burn. On Sunday, I lost my dad. He fought for his country. He was a good, honorable man. And I'm almost relieved he won't be around for the drama/horror to come. And while irrational, since my dad was ill, it still makes me wonder why good men like my dad are gone while such a horrible person as Trump soldiers on. (An ironic term, considering Trump was too gutless to BE a soldier.) But that's just a passing thought. My focus is on my dad, as it should be. Trump means less than nothing to me. I'm not posting for attention, even if it seems otherwise. I'm posting because an event like a loss puts everything into true perspective. So, I will let this country roll around in the mud, but now I'm focused on what's important. And it is not - and will never be - Donald Trump.
  24. Immediately makes me think of M*A*S*H, which is ironic, since TV Frank Burns was a Republican.
