  1. Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
  2. Maybe because 60 Minutes has kept the same formula for almost 57 years? Usually, there is more than one interview/topic discussed, like a real magazine. Dateline, 20/20, and so many others have all fallen to the one-subject formula: True crime. I mean, I'm a Forensic Files junkie and loved original America's Most Wanted back in the day, but even I think the TV market has been over-saturated with all crime, all the time. There was still that element when these shows began, but they were a segment of an episode, not the entire episode. Maybe the audience is just getting bored with such a fixed formula. If stories were intermixed with crime, some feel-good segment, and maybe something to do with lifestyle/music/and yes, as much as I have come to hate it, political issues, maybe these shows could rally. As they are - again, minus 60 Minutes - they have become tired and predictable.
  3. Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!
  4. Just some clarification: David Hasselhoff was hubby #2! Per Google, she was married to another man in October 1981 and divorced him in 1982. So, Michael E. Knight was hubby #3. Here I thought Vincent Irizarry was still married. Shrug. Maybe he dated Hickland in between her marriages to MEK and hubby #4, Todd Fisher? (Yes, brother to Carrie and son of Debbie Reynolds...)
  5. Loved Valerie Mahaffey as crazy as a box of frogs Sandy Cooper on Wings. 2025 needs to chill out already. May Ms. Mahaffey rest in peace.
  6. Yeah, Loretta Swit's passing stings. My late dad LOVED the show (he died last November) and watched it religiously. In first run and repeats. And I was literally born the day after the show's premiere, so I grew up with it! I know many loved later, softer Margaret, but I loved Early Hot Lips. In real life, I'm all for less misogyny, but to me, the early years of M*A*S*H were just funnier. May Loretta Swit rest in peace. Thanks for all the memories connected to my dad!
  7. As one that loved RoJohn/Isabella back in the day, the Brady/"John" scenes were so well done, yet still a gut punch. Maybe because, the scene where John told Brady about Isabella's hopes as she was dying from pancreatic cancer just seemed...sadly ironic, since Drake - in reality - died of the same awful disease that was fictionally used for Isabella. Of course, absolutely no one could have predicted that eerie irony 32 years later, but still. That said, Eric Martsolf - as like everyone else holding vigil with "John" - did a wonderful job. I only wish that the show would cease with "John's hanging on!", etc., since we know the reality of the situation. Still, everyone and everything surrounding this goodbye has been handled so well.
  8. Because, of course. Criminals gonna criminal together.
  9. Like Leo. Why the hell is he still here? And he can take Gwen with him. (Why the current team is letting her come back, despite being under Ron's directive, confounds me. If Jack needs a daughter on canvas, resurrect Abigail, the non-retcon.)
  10. Maybe not, but I still love the thought.
  11. Yes! I bet it was fun to act out. The evil roles usually are!
  12. Loved Dorothy Lyman's Opal! Not to mention, in addition to the role on Hunter, I have seen her on Law & Order (another great franchise!). Good to know Lyman is still plugging away!
  13. Wow, @JAS0N47, that list of states was impressive! And I never knew that James Read hailed from near me! (I was born and raised in a nearby city, about 15 minutes away!) (Liked him since he played Murphy Michaels on Remington Steele when I was a kid. As an older kid, I also loved him on North and South!)
  14. Oh, I remember this vividly! So trippy to see Mike Brady as a devil-worshiping judge. LOL! (With the mustache and curly hair in some pics, Reed seemed to have a surface resemblance to early-Jeopardy Alex Trebek!)
  15. I don't remember ANYTHING with Devon and Cliff! I do remember Liza fixated on him (around the time Angel Haining took over the role briefly as Marcy Walker left for Santa Barbara!), but not a thing about Devon. Shows how memorable it was. LOL! I do have a very hazy memory with Devon and...Wally, was it? I think that was his name, Devon's husband! (Mom watched AMC from jump, and wee little me got into it!) But I do remember poor Tricia Pursley just played Devon as a sad sack.
  16. No wonder I always thought the actress looked familiar! She WAS on a soap! Just a bit slow. Never realized it was Elizabeth Savage in the Hunter appearance!
  17. And it will also eventually air S2, which will air its season finale in Canada this Thursday, May 15th! (It has already been renewed for S3 as of a year ago, as the last renewal was for S2 and S3.) https://tvline.com/news/law-and-order-toronto-criminal-intent-season-1-2-the-cw-1235449356/ As an American that has managed to watch it in real time, it's very good. Frankly, I think it's the best of the L&O franchise as of now.
  18. What a wonderful photo! It really is a shame that Peacock will not show those early years. I know I'd love to see them!
  19. With the death of Days and GH actress, Denise Alexander, someone posted this in the Days thread, a '60s-era photo of some of the cast, which lists the names. In the upper left, is a young Susan Flannery, who obviously ended up playing Stephanie Forrester on B&B, who was one of a few actresses to play Dr. Laura Horton [mother to Mike and Jennifer Horton] on Days. Here is a link to the photo: https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/38014-days-behind-the-scenes-articlesphotos/?do=findComment&comment=2022200
  20. I wish more of Denise Alexander's work on Days would be made available! In any case, she really helped to bolster GH in the '70s/'80s with the Lesley/Rick/Monica/Alan story line. May Denise Alexander rest in peace.
  21. Before my time, but besides Lesley, I know many say her work on Days as Susan was fabulous. I saw a clip, when Julie met Doug for the first time (with Susan the one that introduced them as BJ Hunnicutt David Banning was in the background!)... But so much of her work as Susan is not available. May Denise Alexander rest in peace!
  22. I think maybe viewers needed a break from Aaron Spelling by 1985 or 1986. He had a series, Macgruder and Loud, which I recall, even as a young teen, getting TONS of promotion with even a post-Super Bowl slot, and it failed. Viewers probably were - as said here - tired of soapy fare and went elsewhere. But they must have missed him since, as we know, Spelling rose from the TV ashes in the '90s with Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place!
  23. Probably because CBS didn't own it. But I agree, I think it was a stupid move.
  24. I just read that Alice Halsey, the new young Rachel, has just landed the role of Laura Ingalls on the Netflix reboot of Little House on The Prairie. https://deadline.com/2025/05/little-house-on-the-prairie-laura-ingalls-cast-alice-halsey-1236383465/ Soooo...I don't see her remaining on Days for too long.
