  1. No, you're right. I've been pretty good at being optimistic this time, but the occasional freakout had its moment. I do think 2016 will always be with us, though, if just to ensure we don't get complacent and VOTE.
  2. I actually remember Barbara Niven from a few episodes of Silk Stalkings as different characters. But her appearance in the episode, "Pulp Addiction", as "author" Jackie McMillan with Hugo Napier as her alcoholic hubby that was a ghost writer of those romance novels was a hoot!
  3. I pray to God I'm anxious for nothing, but Trump is now 1.6% ahead of Harris in Georgia. I'm starting to get uneasy 2016 vibes. A part of me believes - has always believed - that this country is so entrenched in misogyny that it refuses to vote for a woman for POTUS, no matter how qualified. And that is where foreign nations are well ahead of us. If I'm wrong and Kamala is victorious? FANTASTIC. Still, it's devastating to think voters would rather lose democracy and their rights and vote for an elderly dementia-riddled felon because this nation cannot let go of "old white male for POTUS" syndrome.
  4. Good God. This is just further proof that Trump gives zero shits about gun violence:
  5. I'm so anxious that I just wish November 5th would just get here, and let the chips fall where they may. You know? Still, I have already done my part and voted a straight-blue ballot. I can only hope and pray enough other voters do the same.
  6. Yeah, but Texas, for some reason, loves to keep voting against their own interests. As much as I wish Allred could pull an upset, I see Cruz easily winning again. And then the bitching from some Texans will continue, even as they are the ones that will usher him back in. It's political Stockholm Syndrome.
  7. While some MSNBC people [Nicolle Wallace, Rachel Maddow] are unafraid to call a rotten orange spade a spade, whoever runs their social media accounts must still be trying to make diamonds out of crap. Because its YT channel claims Trump turned a town hall into "an impromptu dance party", rather than state the obvious: Trump was losing what's left of his mind as his cult roasted. If this were Biden, the media would do as it did all summer - question his age, call him unfit, and chip away until he stepped down, which is what happened. But it's an NBC-affiliated station: Still all-in for Mr. Demented Fascist Apprentice, or so it seems! Thank God almost everyone else that has witnessed last night's debacle are now sounding off, demanding his medical records, etc. Should have happened nine years ago, but what can you do.
  8. He finally apparently left the stage after swaying to November Rain. Yes, the Guns 'N Roses epic. Because a Town Hall is the same as a concert! If this POS can't handle a Town Hall, he has no business acting as POTUS. (But then, he was never really POTUS. Lackeys like Steven Miller run the show.) This tweet sums up the raging hypocrisy:
  9. I think Mike Horton became problematic because the show aged him WAY too quickly. From baby to adult - from all I have read - in SEVEN YEARS. Complete with marriage and a wife dying of cancer. So by the time MTW came on the scene, Mike's age was in stasis. The character was in his 30s for a good two to three DECADES. Because RC wasn't much older than MTW, if I recall. So TPTB probably didn't know where to place him love interest wise, because even if it was remote, his past was still part of him. So the generation issue became an issue. (I liked Mike/Carrie way better than Carrie/Austin, but it was hard to argue against those that brought up Mike being a grown adult/widower when Carrie was just a little girl!) So that mistake from ages ago ended up perhaps hurting the character in the long run. And yes, I know other soaps have such an issue, too, but to me, they seemed to just roll. Days seemed to want to remember Mike's history and hand wave it at the same time. Should have picked a lane. This all said, the character is a Horton male, which are in short supply. He should make a comeback in a more permanent fashion, be it RC or yet another recast in a LONG line of Mike recasts. (My wish would be MTW, but I know he supposedly didn't leave the show with the fondest of memories, so...yeah.)
  10. Another endorsement for Kamala Harris/Tim Walz. This time, it's Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad fame:
  11. Nope. Not jealous. Nuzzi is supposedly a journalist. Journalists are SUPPOSED TO have some objectivity/ethics. She was reporting on RFK, Jr. as a presidential candidate, yet was having an affair with him. That compromises whatever she reported about him. It's BECAUSE she is supposedly pretty that people seem to want to give her a pass. And no. She's a damn adult. She is no better than a writer for Weekly World News, that parody rag that used to have covers about aliens having Elvis' baby or whatnot. She clearly has no boundaries/ethics.
  12. Another Republican regime crying, another federal lawsuit as the cause, thanks to the DOJ!
  13. Ah, yes! I thought she looked familiar. Although with this long list of credits, chances are I may also remember her from some of those. Thanks, as always, @slick jones!
  14. Here's a bit of good news:
  15. There seems to be a lot of butt hurt males over at TwitX because Kamala Harris dared to go on the Call Her Daddy podcast as above. Who says misogyny is dead?
  16. Swamp Thing. UGH. Billie's spawn was DEAD, carried in a suitcase. I think Reilly just could not stand that Bo/Hope had Shawn (Douglas) and seemed to want to even the score - whether it made sense or not.
  17. Another person I'm guessing that may be taking it hard is James Reynolds. He acted with both Wayne and Drake, too, for decades as Roman's (and later John's, as well!) close friend. I feel so sorry for the entire cast, not to mention Drake's loved ones.
  18. Yep, I remembered this one! Rest in peace, John Amos.
  19. One issue throughout I have had throughout this whole sad ordeal - and during a similar sad ordeal when Matthew Perry passed away - is the entitlement/expectation of a subset that criticize actors for not instantly running to social media the minute a famous person passes away for "performance grieving". Like the cast of Friends that reeled over Matthew's death, the Days cast worked closely with Drake Hogestyn for eons. To the fans, he was John Black, but to them, he was a friend/mentor, and they should only speak out about it when they are ready, if they want to. This isn't directed towards anyone here, but to the vultures on social media sites, wondering, "Why hasn't Person X said anything?" Leave these people alone to grieve the loss of their friends!
  20. I know I often call Rachel Black a demon seed, but this was a sweet little tribute from Finley Rose Slater (at the bottom, below that tear jerker of a video!). And I love the matching raised eyebrow picture accompanying it:
  21. Seems the theme of all the flash post-debate polling is just what @Vee has described: A statistical tie. And for a candidate who is not a starched suit like Walz, that is actually pretty damned good, to me.
  22. Based on the "damning non answer" clip, it looks like it did, at the end.
  23. It's not at ALL scientific, but if one cruises the hellhole that is TwitX, the MAGA set seems to be in meltdown and screaming about biased mods again and Walz "lies". Which tells me that Walz must have acquitted himself well enough.
  24. You probably included them in this statement but, for posterity, right or wrong, ROMAN and Marlena's kids, too. Since John did raise those kids and loved them like his own for so many years... Still trying to wrap my head around this, days later.
