ARTICLE: ‘General Hospital’ Executive Producer Frank Valentini Embraces New Writing Team, Says Fans Will Have “Much To Look Forward To”
Well, the fans did have a lot to look forward to, Frank. But then you fired/forced out the guy that knows good soap writing [Patrick Mulcahey], so...

Days: Actress Exits
Well...maybe Gwen will return down the road - but it won't be O'Brien playing her? (I have no idea, just saying it's possible with mentions, etc.)

Days: Actress Exits
Some viewers thought she'd be back as Gwen as, I guess, she was mentioned. But I'm glad that's not the case.

B&B: Character Recast!
Well, to be fair, maybe Bradley remembered Hunter Tylo (then going by her real name of Deborah Morehart!) as a blonde back in her All My Children days as Robin McCall and decided Taylor could, too, even as a recast. Hee. (Ironic that both Tylo and Budig had roles on AMC - almost 15 or so years apart [Tylo was on around '86, and her character had the hots for Matt Connolly for a bit, played by her future (and ex-) husband Michael Tylo!] and now had/have the same damn role.)

The Wisconsin Harris/Walz event was PACKED. The Detroit event, now streaming, is ALSO packed. And I noticed the complete difference in character between the two campaigns, highlighted at Wisconsin. Walz was being his usual awesome self, highlighting policy/accomplishments, etc. Suddenly, someone in the crowd yelled, "Help!" He immediately stopped, and looked like he sorely wanted to leave the podium and go assist. His eyes never left the spot of the person in jeopardy, and he only went back on message once he was certain the person was okay and had water in the heat. Contrast this to Trump rally-goers at an event that ended up collapsing in the heat, and Trump didn't give one s-h-i-t, just saying how he wanted their votes. Decency versus depravity.

GH: Mulcahey OUT!
Kinda OT: But there are pics of the Santa Barbara 40th Anniversary event in the SB thread in the Cancelled Soaps section. And Patrick Mulcahey (and I think MVJ, along with Thom Racina) attended, as did a good number of its cast!

B&B: Character Recast!
I don't watch this show. Never have. But even *I* know this is ridiculous! Rebecca Budig is NOT even in the ballpark of the same generation as KKL's Brooke. While Krista Allen may have also been fudging it, at least she sort of resembled Hunter Tylo. How bonkers.

Santa Barbara Discussion Thread
Surprised at how many showed up, especially those whose characters were not handled all that well, i.e. Scott Clark and Heather Donnelly. But it is still great that Vicent Irizarry, Jane Rogers, and so many other actors did show! Maybe it was nice enough behind the scenes that the fonder memories remained. Thrilled to see so many favorites there, i.e. Carrington Garland. And Judith McConnell looks fabulous! ETA: Gordon Thomson obviously looks different with the white/silvery hair, but I do think he looks good. I'm not surprised he attended. When on the air, he often raved about the writing and seemed to truly enjoy playing Mason Capwell.

With the freak show that is RFK, Jr. and his disturbing animal antics, Cheryl Hines was trending on TwitX, mainly people wondering why she is staying with this waste of skin. I admit, I wonder what the hell is wrong with her for staying with this creep!

Another World Discussion Thread
Time gets us all. Maybe except for Anna Holbrook. Damn, does that woman ever age?! She looks almost the same from her AW and Law & Order appearances days! I think Alice Barrett and Laurence Lau (whom I will always associate as Greg Nelson on All My Children - 11-year-old me met him at an appearance with my mom back in the day and I was so star struck I said barely anything, LOL!) also look good, too. As do Anna Stuart (she really did resemble Cher in her younger years, which she spoke of in a SOD interview!) and Linda Dano. I will say Paul Michael Valley has aged so he could probably play an older cop type in a show. Not hunky anymore, but he does have a distinct look! John Bolger, I think the only reason seeing him now threw me is because I still watch Law & Order: Criminal Intent repeats, where he appeared three separate times as three separate characters, and two out of the three as the victim!, where he still looked as he did when on AW. But, as I said, we all age. No escaping it! I'm surprised not to see Stephen Schnetzer included, but maybe this happened while he was on the west coast. Or he had another job. And finally, I sort of get a kick out of seeing both Anne Howard (who also seems to have aged very well) and Ariana Muenker (she looks good, too!) there, as besides having AW in common, both ladies temporarily (although I believe Muenker was on short-term contract due to some behind the scenes issues) played Kimberly Brady on Days of Our Lives! Except when she played that role, Ariana Muenker was going by Ariana Chase.

My elderly Dad loves M*A*S*H, and still watches reruns. I had no idea that was Barbara Tarbuck in that one still. How trippy! She looked good with red hair.

Except...it seems to be "working out" for Dems just fine, with Biden's support. The article smacks of a bitter, blindsided Trump supporter trying to make the success story less than it is. And it's not working.

THANK YOU, @slick jones. I have been going crazy, wracking my brain trying to remember where I recognized James P. Sikking from! You solved it. I can now stop obsessing.

As one who voted for Biden in the primary (and let's stop the lie that he was unopposed. He wasn't. The options of Dean Phillips and Marianne Williamson sucked, but they were there, unlike all the unicorn savior names being thrown about now!), I am beyond pissed that my vote is being invalidated for the billionaires. If my vote carries so little weight, I am sorely tempted to vote down ballot and leave the top blank. I hate Judas traitors. And yes, I know that means a vote for Trump. But since everyone already has him anointed, what's the effing difference?

Here's an inconvenient plot twist for all on the right blaming Democrats for the Trump shooting. Per the Murdoch rag, The New York Post, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, the shooter, was a registered Republican per election records. Oops. Watch them go silent anytime now.

Interestingly, The Washington Post has posted several Letters To The Editor about Joe Biden. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/07/04/biden-harris-1968-nixon-convention/ And, predominantly, almost none wished for his removal. (Of course, there was one ridiculous letter slagging on Kamala Harris, wanting HER removed as VP. Ingrained misogyny will never die!) But for all the panicked headlines that have run since the debate, it was interesting to note the reactions. One letter even invoked Reagan and HIS memory issues, and the good cabinet he had surrounding him.

ALL: Daytime's Best Dads?
Yes, Carrie would be the one with memories of Roman. AND John.

ALL: Daytime's Best Dads?
And this is why I always thought the twins were SORAS'ed too soon. Because I think it would have been interesting - and a story with depth - if John sued for visitation of the kids if Roman [and/or Roman/Marlena] tried to keep John away (to be fair, maybe establish his own bond). I could see the Bradys being conflicted, from Shawn and Caroline on down, and it would have been curious to see if anyone would take sides and such. Especially Carrie, given she was older and - to this day - seems just as connected to John/Marlena as much as her own parents. I think it could have been a story with, yes, some sadness, but heart, too. Showing the shades of gray between a man that raised the kids versus the parents that missed time. Neither would be outright sinners or saints.
