  1. I remember watching "Judith Krantz's I'll Take Manhattan" when it premiered on CBS and thinking Valerie Bertinelli was the greatest.
  2. Something tells me she's about to give Carly an...
  3. Even James Harmon Brown and Barbara Esensten admitted (to Soap Opera Weekly?) that they knew they had messed up when they introduced the Rapid Aging Serum. Of course, it wasn't as if we could have waited years (even with SORAS'ing at play, it would've taken years) for Clone Reva to age naturally, so IDK what the alternative might have been (aside from, you know, not doing the story at all).
  4. I dread ever hearing the words "The role of Erica Kane will be played today by Philece Sampler." (May she RIP.) Ah, yes. The girl who once played a Kris Monroe lookalike on "Charlie's Angels."
  5. And she's also set to appear in a film adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's "Merrily We Roll Along"?? Take it from me: some folks just ask for trouble.
  6. Who knows? If we dig a little deeper, we might turn up some footage of her pitch-hitting for Susan Lucci or Kim Zimmer!
  7. The "suits" at SONY are fools not to find some way to release and monetize the Y&R and DAYS vaults. Letting viewers watch this (or watch this again) on some platform would not, in any way, jeopardize these shows' continued success.
  8. Marla Adams and Melinda Fee look as if they're the same age. If that were Brenda Dickson's Jill listening in on John and Dina's phone conversation, she'd just roll her eyes and her jaw would drop occasionally in amazement/disgust over the things that Dina were saying. But Melinda's Jill looks like she's waiting for the two to wrap things up so she can go to the can.
  9. If SON were like DAYS, she'd be Orpheus. Except, I'm sure at least a few DAYS fans are always glad to see Orpheus again.
  10. If I were hopping aboard Y&R as their new HW or EP, I would MAKE bringing back Phillip Chancellor a top priority. I didn't care for his back-from-the-dead story (which I jokingly guessed (minus the "gay part") weeks before it hit the air, btw) but he's out there, he still has ties to GC and (unlike a certain, former "naked heiress" who shall remain nameless) I think he still has story potential, too, even under those weird circumstances. And even though I'd be VERY reluctant not to recast Phillip, if bringing back TB were part of the bargain that I'd have to strike with CBS or Sony, then fine, I'll work with what (little) I've got. But my point is, if they went to the trouble of bringing Phillip back from the dead (and as a gay man), then they need to use him. And Jill! They need to use Jill, too! I've always held in my back pocket a story where Jill loses everything and has to go back to working in a salon to survive.
  11. Even though the housing discrimination story w/ the Benjamins appears to have been truncated, it was still bold of SFT even to try tackling a topic that remains controversial. If only today's soaps would attempt such risks.
  12. At this point, the British royal family would have been better off just going off to Aruba for an extended vacay.
  13. They better do the "Way We Were" sequel while Streisand and Redford are still alive.
  14. Yep, just as we had suspected: Taylor has been a figment of everyone's collective imagination the entire time.
  15. I really hate that the Pollocks wrote Dan Allison into a corner. He could have become a great, long-term villain or anti-hero - a John Dixon to Matt Powers' Bob Hughes or Steve Aldrich's David Stewart.
  16. It's that "if it's on the Internet, then it MUST be true" line of thinking that has gotten this country into the messes that it's in today.
  17. It also wasn't the show to have people come back from the dead. (Hi, Phillip!) Yep.
  18. Oh, I forgot about that, lol. In that case, I go back to my original choice: Declan.
  19. Oh, God, it was THAT episode that hit number one? Sheesh. Ironically, for an episode where the victim is literally beheaded, "Horseman" was so dull to watch. Jessica's friend (and obligatory falsely accused party) was such a nerd; the object of his affections, who clearly was not into him, was irritatingly self-absorbed; and Judy Landers was, well, Judy Landers. Say what you will about "Menace, Anyone?" and its' blatant rewrites that rendered the whole effort a violent and incomprehensible mess, but at least it didn't bore you to tears!
  20. Other shows and writers felt they had to double the amount of characters and scenes in order to fill each episode, which, IMO, created the bloated budgets that, in concert with the outrageous storylines of the '80's and '90's, led this genre to the pitiful place where it resides today.
  21. I believe it, too. Same goes for the others that @kalbir mentioned. But I think Sullivan and others have said otherwise because they thought it looked better than admitting they were fired or let go. Let's not forget, too, that Susan Howard was a vocal supporter of EP Philip Capice, whom Hagman blamed for the show's falling ratings during the "dream season," making it clear he wouldn't return unless Capice was gone. Let's be honest: most of the females hired on DALLAS from 1988 onward were little more than bimbos with marginal talent but who could, at that point in their careers, work for cheap. In retrospect, Donna Mills was smart to leave KL when she did. Between the salary and budget issues and the increasingly off-key writing for Abby, she could see the writing on the walls.
  22. Miller and Boyett must have produced the second promo. It's got all their hallmarks.
