  1. I agree. At best, those eras were band-aids, camouflaging the fact that NBCD itself had been a mess since at least 1980, if not before. If not for them and for the "Today" show, who knows where the network's daypart would be?
  2. Once you have the likes of Joan Collins/Alexis Carrington Colby etc. putting down roots with her Nolan Miller wardrobe in Denver, CO, you've absolutely reached the point of no return, lol.
  3. I think JER once said that he had worked on every soap that still was on the air at that time except OLTL. There was something symbolic in those events, I think. At the same time that Bill Bell is handing over the reins to the next generation and Douglas Marland is the first of legendary soap scribes to pass away, Reilly's DAYS, for better or worse, is ushering in a new era for the genre.
  4. On second thought, maybe Kenny wasn't wrong to give that song to Ciji first, lol. But seriously. I always point to that montage as the moment when the KL that people truly love was born. As you watch it unfold, and especially when you see how it ends, you just know the show is never going to be the same.
  5. A spin-off centered around Grant Goodeve? Ugh, not smart, Lorimar, not smart at all, lol.
  6. Look, all I'm saying is, it's been my experience that millennials, of which Taylor happens to be one, do not have much reverence or respect for whatever came before them. Some do, but they're the exception. Someone from Taylor's generation might not place someone like Celine Dion on a pedestal the way someone from another generation might, because Celine was "before their time" and therefore, they think she's irrelevant. Again, some millennials - like Miley Cyrus, for one - might be different, but they're the exception. Am I overgeneralizing? Perhaps. But that's just my observation as a Gen X'er. I'm not Margaret Mead. I don't have books of stats to substantiate my claims. I just have my own, first-hand, anecdotal accounts. If that's "weird" to you, then...*shrug*.
  7. So, does this mean the Horton house is going the way of 98% of the family who owns it?
  8. Oh, my dear Lord. The Mai-Lin plot is getting screwier by the minute.
  9. Taylor is a millennial. Millennials have a hard time acknowledging anyone over thirty.
  10. Frankly, I think Betty Corday handed the reins over to her son, because she knew he'd never make it as a professional musician. She could pass away knowing that, at the very least, Ken and his family would be taken care of. It's just a shame that a legacy that has stretched across almost six decades potentially could end like this.
  11. That's why I think it's so important that people push back against the media and point up Trump's own, apparent mental and physical decline. Biden might be a "well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory," but I'll take that over a malignant narcissist with an authoritarian bent anyday.
  12. To think: there was a time when we couldn't get even that much from our soaps, lol.
  13. Remember when Nicole couldn't seem to live down her past as "Misty Circle"? This entire mess is bringing back memories of the hell she (Nicole) went through years ago trying to move on from her days as an underaged porn star.
  14. This just makes me miss the Al Rabin/Shelley Curtis era even more.
  15. I think DAYS could come back from this, but Sony would need to step in and make serious changes BTS - meaning, of course, they would have to push Ken Corday out as EP. The question is, would Ken Corday allow for those changes to be made, or would he get in Sony's way? That's why I said before that it wouldn't surprise me if NBCU/Peacock just decides to flush the show and move on, because there's no way in Melaswen that Corday's gonna relinquish his hold over his parents' legacy.
  16. I agree. Hey, that's fine with me. Let him take a job hosting a game show in L.A. I agree!
  17. Like I said, pairing up Drew and Nina sounds crazy, given the circumstances. But, like I also say, an audience will go wherever you want them to, so long as you take the proper steps to get them there.
  18. I'm telling you, where there's smoke....! Even if these rumors are just that, I still think there's more to the story behind their firing than what we know.
  19. If Drew was played by someone other than Cameron Mathison, I would push him and Nina together. (Yeah, Drew falling for the woman who turned him into the SEC sounds crazy, but if written properly, it could work.)
  20. I hope AZ is taking care of herself - not just financially, but physically and emotionally as well. She's had to put up with so much over the years just to earn a paycheck. I'm truly rooting for her to come out whole on the other side.
  21. Josh Swickard makes Jason Thompson look like Drake Hogestyn. IOW, I agree.
  22. Make no mistake: getting older is a bitch. I just hope RM is healthy and happy.
  23. You may have a point, lol.
