  1. Same here. GH literally employs more actors on their show than Louis B. Mayer did at MGM, lol. Sonny Corinthos is the Brooke Logan of GH?
  2. This is giving me "Flash"-backs to OLTL, if you catch my drift. I, too, am adopting a wait-and-see approach to ELR's addition to the cast. Who knows? Maybe it will lead somewhere interesting? *shrug*
  3. I'm sorry, but am I the only one who has issues with a character named "Blaze"? Like, is she supposed to be a stripper or something?
  4. I've said the same thing about SaBa. I felt (and still feel) that featuring so many characters at the beginning hurt SaBa in the long run, because doing so didn't allow the viewers the opportunity to get to know them all well enough (to say nothing of their issues with the casting of many of them, lol). And I think the same could be said about LOVING. There was much about GENERATIONS that I thought could have been improved upon - but that's for another thread.
  5. I truly think no one in the industry was prepared for how the nation would respond to the O.J. trial.
  6. To me, it just seems like more of the same from the "NCSI Network."
  7. So do I. "We love GH! We got big plans for GH! GH ain't goin' anywhere!" Cut to: "BREAKING NEWS: 'GH' CANCELLED!" (Or worse, shuffled off to Hulu forever).
  8. A year (or two) is better than nothing.
  9. I never thought I'd say this, but when you think about it - I mean, the number of years that ATWT was #1, or how DAYS climbed to the top after being thisclose to cancellation early on, or how Y&R climbed up the ratings charts after a somewhat rocky start, then faltered when it expanded to an hour, then came back stronger than ever and knocked GH off its' perch as the most-watched soap in the country; or how B&B eventually became the second-most watched soap w/ a large international following - you could argue that Bill Bell was the most successful writer ever to work in this genre.
  10. I agree. LOVING's original foundation, with the well-to-do Aldens and Forbes (and Slaters) contrasting the working class Donovans and Vocheks, was almost too large for a half-hour soap. Yet, it's almost as if so much of that foundation was tossed aside, especially once Douglas Marland left the show.
  11. I think so, too. I don't expect the writing to improve overnight, but I hope TPTB allow Mulcahey and Korte enough time and freedom to do whatever they think needs to be done in order to resolve the show's issues, of which there are many, lol.
  12. Just like with Gregory Harrison at GH, DAYS took a really fine, charismatic actor like James Read and wasted him on a dead-end character who has outworn his welcome.
  13. The conspiracy theorist in me thinks TPTB directed Brenda Dickson to be that OTT in her '80's performances in order to sabotage her and force her off the show for good (which they eventually succeeded in doing).
  14. Every time I see that name, I think of the family on "Empty Nest."
  15. IIRC, Robert Soderberg was also co-HW with Tom King during the climax of the Mac/Rachel/Janice/Mitch storyline, which I think was the last time AW was really good (at least for awhile).
  16. "He took me to the Taj Mahal, he took me me to the pyramids, he took me to the Great Wall of China, and he took me to paradise with every kiss." No more beautiful words have ever been spoken.
  17. I feel bad for Christopher Murray, even though I think Alec Baldwin turned out to be a much better choice.
  18. It's how many years later? And we still can't get that man's name right, lol. I know I've said this before, but I don't necessarily need Patrick Mulcahey and Elizabeth Korte to write out a bunch of characters and/or introduce (or reintroduce) characters on their own. I'll be satisfied if they can take everything that's there and make it watchable again. So much of GH these days is so generic, for lack of a better word, and needs definition or redefinition badly.
  19. To make Wally Kurth's life miserable? But seriously. I don't think there's much you could do with a record producer in Port Charles, ties to the canvas or no ties; and I can't see Lois all-of-a-sudden working in some capacity at ELQ or at the hospital either. The fact is, Lois belongs with Ned, but we know that's not gonna happen, so what's the point? I still think it's a shame how GH landed Gregory Harrison and then proceeded to waste him on a nothing character.
  20. I could be wrong, but I think the Dr. Dorman in that clip above is Bradley White, who, incidentally, is married to Jennifer Bransford (a.k.a. "Fake Shemp" Carly). I still remember him from an episode of "Law & Order" where his character killed his best friend and business partner so he could marry the guy's wife, played by Jenny Robertson.
  21. I've always said that older Reva should have been like Miss Sally Gleason: a "trashy lady" in her youth, who finally discovers class once she comes into money.
  22. I'm choosing to interpret that as Sonny realizing he never really loved Nina as much as he thought he did, lol.
