Characters Without a Fanbase
Youtube recommended to me an old General Hospital promo featuring the Brenda, Jax and Skye love triangle. Which reminded yet again that Skye Chandler was a lead character over a nearly 30 year span on All My Children, One Life to Live and GH. And I can not recall any sort of widespread interest from fans in her or her antics. I never felt any clamoring to see more of her or people shaking their fist when her story was at lull. She was largely just...there. To interlope and trade witty one-liners with whatever woman she hated that week. Yet ABC found her interesting to keep her around across multiple shows and regimes. Can we think of other characters that were in lead story for a long time yet never seemed to have any sort of fanbase? They kinda just did their thing and we all said "Sure!". BTW don't come for me Skye/Robin Christopher fans. I know there are tens of you! I get it! But that doesn't compare to Brenda's millions, alright?

GH: HUGE Trina/Spencer SPOILER
It's REALLY hard for me to imagine any iteration of Carly reading a book lmao

Y&R fan favorite returning
Honest to god does ANYTHING happen on this show besides people acquiring businesses/getting new jobs and lukewarm flirting? One positive: Veronica Redd looks great (love the hair and black really don't crack because not her looking younger than Traci).

Storylines and periods in a show that made you STOP watching
I think the first time I actively chose, as in not being driven by being a child in school lol, to stop watching a soap was when AMC had Janet kill her former prison mate with a giant candy cane and then writing out the entire Dillon family. I loved them and thought Tim was hot and was sorry to see them go.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
Angelica Ross (POSE, American Horror Story) tried to get Debbi Morgan work with Ryan Murphy. It didn't happen because he's trash but that would've been a moment. "The culture would LIVE" is right.

Dallas Discussion Thread
Maybe I'm reading too much into it but Larry Hagman and Victoria Principal are never in the same shot in this scene. It's especially glaring since the next scene has him and that actress sharing a shot, which looks much more like traditional mid-80s blocking. I've only read about the casting on Donna Reed as Miss Ellie but it's always reminded me of Lee Meriwether taking over as Ruth Martin from Mary Fickett. This perfectly lovely motherly looking woman suddenly played by a glamourpuss.

SOD (GH)
I stopped watching 3 months ago because I saw the signs but I have to know, have they gotten any closer to fücking like two perfectly average young adults?

Hayley Erin to YR
A job is a job is a job. As for the shows, they only care now if an actor can remember their lines.

DAYS Promo "A National Treasure"
Man, this is the first time I've ever wished I had Peacock and definitely the first time in nearly 20 years I've wanted to actively watch Days. DVD looks amazing, so spry and quick-witted and engaged. I don't even care about the story, I just want to watch him work. Do we know how long he's going to be around for?

That's why this is so empty for me. She's got a number of people she can ask for help. And it's not like the government expects the fine in one lump sum, she's not going to be destitute. She's going from ultra wealthy to just wealthy. Poor dumb Caroline. Cry for her!

Yeah, I agree @titan1978, Jessie and Angie are a package deal, you absolutely can't break them up and they have to be a central couple on the show and as much as I hate basically all of the couples on this show you can't just bring them on as a tentpole couple. And it would be a disservice to them, the show and their legacy to do anything but. Can you imagine AMC or OLTL bringing on Sonny and Carly or Jason and Sam and thrusting positioning them as central couples? Oh I would have been furious. But man, imagine a soap on air with Debbie and Darnell still killing it... @Liberty City I want David minus the back from the dead magic he had at the end there. I want him to come to town to work on a special case. Maybe Valentin needs a heart transplant so David and Anna are forced to interact. Valentin will, of course, fail to get this transplant and die so I never have to see him again. David needs an adversary on the hospital staff and no, it can't be Finn or Austin unless his presence prompts the writers to give either of those losers a purpose beyond Easton and Howarth's mortgage payments. Portia is too ill-defined a character for me to imagine how she'd respond to him. And no, his adversary can't be one of the utterly boring Good Guys on this show like Drew or Dante or Curtis. They have to be a doctor and they have to have some UUMPH. God, coming up with purpose for David on this is far more fun than talking about it.

Curtis?? Good lord who cares. Whenever a "heroic" man gets shot on this show he just brushes it off. No point in watching all that handwringing that will amount to nothing! Sigh another week of Brook Kerr doing the heavylifting for this coma-inducing couple.

Man I wanted that to say "die".

Now I patiently wait for them to ask Anna about the years she lived there.

The highlights of the day. Mac and Felicia and their grandkid was very cute, though Maxie calling Mac is STUPID and needs to stop. He's spent more years in her life than either of her parents. And her kids call him grandpa! It was nice to hear the words Pine Valley again but I know it's gonna be dumb so that takes the wind out of my sails. You know the reception Tracy gets from everyone? That's the reception Carly should get. That's what she used to get when they understood her character even a little bit. Now she's still argumentative and unpleasant except the entire town has been browbeat into finding this endearing.
