  1. I stopped watching 3 months ago because I saw the signs but I have to know, have they gotten any closer to fücking like two perfectly average young adults?
  2. Still some of the best stuff I've seen on daytime in YEARS. Acting out the denouement of a story two years in the making is a heavy lift and he pulled it off. His "final" confrontation with Ava is pretty great too.
  3. A job is a job is a job. As for the shows, they only care now if an actor can remember their lines.
  4. Man, this is the first time I've ever wished I had Peacock and definitely the first time in nearly 20 years I've wanted to actively watch Days. DVD looks amazing, so spry and quick-witted and engaged. I don't even care about the story, I just want to watch him work. Do we know how long he's going to be around for?
  5. Yeah Donna, I know. When you do things like this is it surprising when people don't believe you?
  6. Scott Evans (Fish, OLTL) has a small but highly visible role in Barbie as one of the Kens.
  7. All this show has going for it is celebrating someone's anniversary every 3 months so let's hope!
  8. She looks great but that is nuts. I wonder if the show would be as invested in this dud of a storyline if the strike wasn't happening. Three recasts in hard for stories we care about, much less ones that have barely begun and are surrounding yet *another* pregnancy.
  9. Donna, I'm not entirely sure you're not an AI chatbot.
  10. Why is it hard to believe that fans in 1999 wouldn't remember BM's Iris? Soap fans, as every thread on this board can attest, have a loooong memory and it's not like 20 years at the bottom of the ratings had garnered AW some new influx of viewers.
  11. That's why this is so empty for me. She's got a number of people she can ask for help. And it's not like the government expects the fine in one lump sum, she's not going to be destitute. She's going from ultra wealthy to just wealthy. Poor dumb Caroline. Cry for her!
  12. Yeah, I agree @titan1978, Jessie and Angie are a package deal, you absolutely can't break them up and they have to be a central couple on the show and as much as I hate basically all of the couples on this show you can't just bring them on as a tentpole couple. And it would be a disservice to them, the show and their legacy to do anything but. Can you imagine AMC or OLTL bringing on Sonny and Carly or Jason and Sam and thrusting positioning them as central couples? Oh I would have been furious. But man, imagine a soap on air with Debbie and Darnell still killing it... @Liberty City I want David minus the back from the dead magic he had at the end there. I want him to come to town to work on a special case. Maybe Valentin needs a heart transplant so David and Anna are forced to interact. Valentin will, of course, fail to get this transplant and die so I never have to see him again. David needs an adversary on the hospital staff and no, it can't be Finn or Austin unless his presence prompts the writers to give either of those losers a purpose beyond Easton and Howarth's mortgage payments. Portia is too ill-defined a character for me to imagine how she'd respond to him. And no, his adversary can't be one of the utterly boring Good Guys on this show like Drew or Dante or Curtis. They have to be a doctor and they have to have some UUMPH. God, coming up with purpose for David on this is far more fun than talking about it.
  13. Curtis?? Good lord who cares. Whenever a "heroic" man gets shot on this show he just brushes it off. No point in watching all that handwringing that will amount to nothing! Sigh another week of Brook Kerr doing the heavylifting for this coma-inducing couple.
  14. Man I wanted that to say "die".
  15. Now I patiently wait for them to ask Anna about the years she lived there.
  16. The highlights of the day. Mac and Felicia and their grandkid was very cute, though Maxie calling Mac is STUPID and needs to stop. He's spent more years in her life than either of her parents. And her kids call him grandpa! It was nice to hear the words Pine Valley again but I know it's gonna be dumb so that takes the wind out of my sails. You know the reception Tracy gets from everyone? That's the reception Carly should get. That's what she used to get when they understood her character even a little bit. Now she's still argumentative and unpleasant except the entire town has been browbeat into finding this endearing.
  17. GH has used flashbacks more frequently as well. Are we in our strike padding era?
  18. GH uses so many sets that I can forgive business attire at the hotel pool. They use most characters homes on a regular as opposed to everyone having intimate conversations in the Metro Court lobby or the park or Kelly's. That happens of course but with far less frequency than other soaps.
  19. For me this is the definitive summertime daytime promo: Popular couple, great song, no cheesy "it's hot and sunny and it's SUMMER TIME EVERYBODY" vibe, just sex without being overtly sexual. It's just so good.
  20. It's a shame 80% of Passions jokes were about assault or incest. Or literal hell. And this show was marketed to the youths.
  21. Soaps, to me, have always done better with funny lines as opposed to funny characters. I never find comedic characters or set pieces very funny. I'd take several root canals over watching Susan on Days do literally anything. Roxy on OLTL was a colorful break from life and death stakes of everything else but every time she got her own story I was most annoyed than amused. I like characters who clever and humorous like Lucinda or Erica or Kay or Michael Baldwin. The humor for me usually comes from the sharp-tongued characters, not the "funny" ones.
  22. Can't go more than one episode without someone up Carly's a$s.
