YR promo: Sharon fears for her life
I'm so confused. If Cameron has money why does he look like that? He looks like he doesn't shower. I assume Nick was doing something strenuous in these scenes to explain Morrow's shininess. Sharon's freakout would have more impact if Case's face was even a little mobile. It's really kind of sad to see.

The Chad Dimera Award for Most Unlikely Leading Character
Maybe I'm comparing her to some of the younger actors we have now who takes years to get halfway decent (ahem Eden McCoy). Of course the benefited from a lot more rehearsal time back then but even still there was a ton more dialogue and blocking to remember back in the day.

The Chad Dimera Award for Most Unlikely Leading Character
I can't say I agree. Budig was coming off of a failure in casting on GL and I watched her intro scenes on AMC recently and she was a pretty generic soap bîtch. It wasn't until she was paired with Duhamel that she took off. He however made a pretty quick splash as Leo. I watched her first scenes recently and I actually think she was immediately great. I didn't hurt that she's probably one of the most beautiful women to ever walk the planet but she did a lot of heavy lifting in those scenes with Julia. Maybe hindsight is coloring my opinion but I found her to be captivating and natural. Karen was a dour bore to me. They seemed to put a lot of effort into a character connected to no one. The Scotty connection wasn't revealed until right before she left, right? Why was so much focus placed on this malcontent?

Here's the thing about camp, you can't write camp. Camp simply...is. All deliberate attempts to write camp fail.

All My Children Tribute Thread
Man, I LOVED this opening. It looked so high quality. It was obviously made with a lot loving care by someone who respected the show's history, all the classic shots and mostly appropriate groupings (Joe to Liv, Simone and Mia was just "Here ya go!"). We'll ignore Ryan, Kendall and Greenlee's prominent placement. But Bianca into Erica's final shot? Chef's kiss. Unfortunately like @Liberty City said it was clearly a pain to update. Not sure if this was posted but it's fascinating.

Y&R May 2023 Discussion Thread
The last thing Y&R needs to do is kill characters off-screen. They should've just brought back Grace. There is so much they could do there, she has such a deep history with Nick and Sharon. I'd have brought her back a few months ago to setup Cameron's return. Maybe he contacts her, holds something over her head that she did years ago. Hell, maybe she had his child and hid it from him. There's a lot you could do with her and Cameron that would make this story sing but Griffith is just cashing his check.

I think Taggert would have be consistently on the show to get written off lol. I think Real did some of his best work yesterday with the elevator scene reacting to finding out he's not Trina's dad. I'm surprised the show gave his character the time for an extended emotional reaction, didn't we need another scene of someone telling Willow how brave she is? I don't see this meaning much because Trina likes Curtis and his family and loves her dad? What's the point? Whatever. Marshall makin' gumbo in the kitchen and Stella wringing her hands with "What if Curtis don't love me no more" is some Stepin Fetchit shît and it's starting to get to me. There has GOT to be a middle ground for black folks on daytime in 2023 that isn't the whitewashed tediousness of the Winters on Y&R and whatever the hell they have Marshall and Stella doing. And the actor who plays Marshall is really not up to task of making any of his material more than what's on the page. Or maybe I just hate his voice.

They would if they could. They'd make everyone white on all of these shows if they could get away with it.

Victor's will reading doesn't have gravitas they're going for. He was hardly a mainstay, no one on the canvas cared about him an iota, also no one was planning his death and while yes technically he tried kill 80% of the population but that didn't personally hurt anyone on the show. They really should have worked to give him a proper family, maybe some long suffering wife. He was just such a cartoon with his empty threats and Charles Shaughnessy just looked like an older valet on Downton Abbey. Also where the hell is his son Valentin in all of this? I have to assume I missed a line explaining his absence. The whole thing felt terrible hollow. Speaking of that vampire bat, it seems they had no story geared up for Anna and Valentin once they got back to PC. Which works for us because it means less scenes of them together being revolting.

It's very entertaining! They both seem enthralled by Maura (can't blame em) and LW mentions that Lanier looks like M3GAN and she is 100% right. Back to the current show, I find it off-putting that Carly has these ride or dies waging war on her behalf. Fine, let Carly have a gaggle of girlfriends but she doesn't need friends who go this hard for her. Carly can more than defend herself, all it does is Diane and Olivia look like a couple of brown-nosing losers. Carly's not gonna let you sit at her lunch table just because you hate your own husband, Liv.

The Chad Dimera Award for Most Unlikely Leading Character
Similar trajectory to Greenlee on AMC. Introduced as a spoiler for Becca and Scott who were both swiftly let go. Greenlee and Leo's pairing skyrocketed them both and then eventually she was revealed as Jack's daughter cementing her place on the canvas.

Maurice and Laura watch an episode of GH on the Spotlight channel. It's pretty amusing, he knows nothing about the show, she knows everything. Most of the video is Mo confused and LW commenting how pretty Rebecca Herbst is. *Mo had no idea that Michael Easton and Roger Howarth each played 3 separate roles on the show. They're watching an episode with the actor who played Mike and at point Mo said "If they can play 3 different roles, why can't Mike come back from the dead?" *Apparently Chloe Lanier had this "thing" in her scenes where she would attempt to physically touch her co-stars so Laura had to tell her you can't do that to Carly, she wouldn't tolerate it. *Mo refers to Tamara's Kim as Carly and Laura corrects him and he's just like "Whatever" lmao.

2023 Writers + Actors Strike Thread
Trust me, they're haranguing the developers to find the files where everything was credited correctly and figure how to incorporate them into the new app database or something. The fact that Max is a whole new app you have to download is further proof that this rollout is an utter mess.

2023 Writers + Actors Strike Thread
As a "Tech Person" I chafe at this being blamed on tech people, this sounds absolutely like top brass not wanting to properly accredit creatives. Improper accreditation impacts your ability to secure future work or be properly recognized for existing work. This is a bit of real nastiness from Warner Bros.

The Chad Dimera Award for Most Unlikely Leading Character
I want a count of how many characters have ended up gay due to fan demand. I can think of Will, Lucas on GH, Luke on ATWT and Mariah on Y&R. Anyone else?

General Hospital: May 2023 Discussion Thread
The show’s gone from Carly, Sonny and Jason winning all of the time to straight almost universal reverence. The only people allowed to dislike them are villainous like Nina and Tracy or clearly “misguided” like Joss and Michael. Carly and Joss scenes are them just parroting each other. It would be comical if you didn’t know the writers were dead serious. Carly: Nina! Joss: NINA!!!! Carly: Awful!! Joss: AWFULLLL!!!$$$(;57’

He's so self-righteous. I hate CamMat's acting when he gets to yell at someone. "But ya did Ned, YA DID!" Willow's "on the brink of death" countdown enters month 87th. No but seriously she was in desperate need of the bone marrow transplant 2 months ago when Liesl was kidnapped. Just die already. Olivia is a horrible spouse. If your husband is emphatically denying something as much as Ned and you don't believe him? Why even stay married to someone you think so little of? The way she genuflected to Carly the other day was pretty disgusting too. Carly, who will absolutely NOT apologize to Ned as much as she should when this comes out.

That's what I would do. The problem is that knowing him they'll wrap the story up in 3 weeks. Look at how quickly people found out Phyllis was alive.
