ALL: Errors, Myths, Omissions & Firsts that weren't
I can't help but think at some point someone from Meg Ryan's team just made this up to add more to her legacy on ATWT.

GH: January 2024 Discussion Thread
An open secret you can see on his face every time he's onscreen! Brook does an exceptional job in an underwritten part, she add nuance and pathos that don't exist on the page, every day she makes so much out of so little. @Vee and I often joke that Donnell will only be happy when he's finally paired with one of the many blonde, white women on the show. As soon as Nina and Sonny broke up I'm sure he started panting.

ALL: The "Soapourri" Thread
Comic books are soap operas with superpowers. Some of the best selling issues of comic books center around WEDDINGS. Best known comic book stories? Characters coming back from the dead. If soap operas could they would also perpetually write everyone as if they're 35. Oh wait, they do.

ALL: Errors, Myths, Omissions & Firsts that weren't
You need a verifiable source, it can't be "he told me" lol. How about some of the ones where it's claimed Irma or Agnes (I can't remember who) killed off a family in a plane crash? Or having someone fall up the stairs?

GH: January 2024 Discussion Thread
They didn't even try to redress it! And Spencer and Trina didn't talk about the last time they were on a boat AT ALL. I genuinely thought Spencer was going to say "I had the Haunted Star rebuilt for us!". Donna, tell us more. I feel physical pain for Brook Kerr. Here we have an actor so committed and earnest and giving a portrayal of a woman deeply devoted to a man who looks at her like she's an unattractive waitress at his favorite restaurant.

ALL: Characters that have outlived their current usefulness
It's funny because in the 90s and early 2000s soaps were lambasted for unceremoniously getting rid of vets and filling the casts with hair models and now they're drowning in characters with 40+ years of history. Y&R is nothing but veteran characters with decades of exhausted story written as if it's still 1995. And they put no effort into any newer character. I think the last "new" character they genuinely invested in still on the canvas is Adam and he joined the show as an adult over a decade ago. GH can get rid of Finn, his brother, his father, his child. The entire family GONE. Bye. Along with Cody, Sasha, Dex (that or recast, a mob hitman should not be perpetually on the verge of sobbing), Curtis, Jordan, Uncle Remus (sorry to that man), Molly, TJ. Have I eliminated most of the black cast? Yes. Why? They suck. Portia and Trina have all the potential, build out of them. And finally Valentin. I'd bookend James Patrick Stuart's soap career and do a big "Who Killed Valentin?" story. Use one of the characters we're getting rid of as the culprit.

GH: Actor's last airdate revealed
I think it's clear they value Chavez a lot and want to keep the door open for his return.

ALL: Best character FEUDS
Decades spanning male feuds are few and far between but Victor & Jack have got to be at the top of the list.

ALL: Actors who returned in a new role - has it ever worked?
I never thought I'd be one of those fans but here we are 20 years later and I'm still missing Heather Tom as Victoria. Sigh.

GH: Actor's last airdate revealed
He's perfectly in line with Murphy's brand of boy. Handsome, fit, white, young. He could easily shift to one his other shows or get enough attention from this and parlay it into other roles. I hope he's successful, he's a rare talent.

Y&R/B&B: January 2024 Spoilers
Ashley and Traci arrive in Paris. By phone? Or have their walled off a corner of Crimson Lights' patio to serve as "Paris"? This show wouldn't even pony up for the stock footage establishing shots GH uses when characters go to other countries.

I am so sorry. Yet concerned.

GH: O’Connor/Van Etten OUT! Mulcahey/Korte IN!
Let's just have every formerly employed mid-tier soap actor play Lucky on alternating days since quality doesn't matter. Daniel Cosgrove IN as Lucky Spencer Mondays on ABC! Justin Bruening saddles up every Tuesday as Lucas Lorenzo Spencer this fall! Is it Wednesday? Let's wear pink! Jonathan Bennett's triumphant return to daytime on General Hospital! Jordi Vilasuso, fresh off an Emmy nominated (probably, idk) stint on Y&R, steals the show as Luke and Laura's offspring every Thursday! And finally, Colin Egglesfield turns in a tour de force performance as Detective Lucky Spencer every Friday on ABC's lone daytime drama!

ALL: Actors who returned in a new role - has it ever worked?
Probably doesn't count but Bethany Joy Lenz nabbing (or rather being handed) the role of Michelle after playing young clone Reva was obviously an enormous hit.

ALL: February sweeps previews
Those Y&R spoilers are not story beats. It's NUTS they can get away with this.

GH: O’Connor/Van Etten OUT! Mulcahey/Korte IN!
I'm pretty sure JJ left of his own accord, the show wasn't happy to lose him. I can't recall if it was for college or just to spread his wings.

ALL: From Daytime to Primetime...and back again
They have very similar looks. I wonder why they recast.

GH: O’Connor/Van Etten OUT! Mulcahey/Korte IN!
And she was never to be seen again. Good riddance.

BOLD: Could this be Sheila's daughter
I think if not for the job security at B&B Clifton would jump at the chance. At least on GH he wouldn't have to repeat the exact same dialogue day in and day out.

ALL: Imposters/clones/impersonate
I was reminded how much doppelgangers/twins ability to fool the family and friends of the people they're impersonating for months pisses me off when Spencer figured out that Esme was lying about having her memory back all because she called him "Spence". But these doppelganger stories always make the entire town look braindead. I mean, I notice when a close friend gets a line up at the barber! But sure, Trevor doesn't notice that Natalie's body is completely different.

Maxie and Liz aren't even contemporaries. They're 8-10 years apart. The show has been pretty consistent about that. And Felicia is about 10 years older than Carly, they don't come across as contemporaries to me. The Felicia/Carly scene was outstanding and man, for the first time in probably 20 years I actively ENJOYED a Carly scene. All you "wah wah where are the flashbacks" people are real quiet right now. Are you not embarazzed?

Sounds good. Stick with that emotion. I wonder if Luke is Bobbie's contact. He had to fake his death because to avoid retaliation from human traffickers. Luke, the reformed rapist trying to right past wrongs by helping girls escape abuse is not the worst way they could bring Geary back for a spell.
