  1. Yes what LibertyCity said is true. In this video, Jen Lilley tells Kristyn Burtt of soaps.com what happened with her return and the recast - interview from August 2023. (Uploaded to YT much later on) https://youtube.com/watch?v=qgxS7j7eeWc
  2. Yes I agree. Part of this is on the show for allowing the actors to choose wardrobe. But also on the actors for making choices about them instead of about their characters.
  3. Israeli finance minister says it might be justified and moral to starve two million people in order to free the hostages. https://archive.is/mup7https://www.theguardian.com/world/article/2024/aug/08/israel-finance-minister-bezalel-smotrich-gaza-starve-2m-people-comments Thu 8 Aug 2024 The EU, France and UK have condemned comments from Israel’s finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, in which he said “no one in the world will allow us to starve two million people, even though it might be justified and moral in order to free the hostages”, comments which have sparked international outrage.
  4. Dan O'Connor now at Days -- he told this to Errol at the Emmys in June. https://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2024/06/dan-oconnor-days-of-our-lives-wrtiting-team However O'Connor was hired at DAYS to work as part of Ron's writing team. Then Ron left DAYS a few weeks ago. No idea what O'Connor's status is now.
  5. Jamey Giddens tweeted that Wed. Aug. 7 is his first breakdown episode since his return. https://x.com/Jamey_Giddens/status/1820199754615136509
  6. Some background on the free school meals program in Minnesota that Walz signed into law last year. See post on "Black Lives Matter" thread here: (Link)
  7. Amazing school cafeteria manager Philando Castile of Minnesota did much to see that students in need were fed and also helped students in other ways. He was killed by police in 2016 during a traffic stop and the cop was acquitted. In Philandro's honor, his mom got the movement going for the free meals at schools that Governor Tim Walz signed into law in 2023. https://sahanjournal.com/education/free-school-meals-bill-minnesota-valerie-philando-castile/ no
  8. Cady McLain appears as Jennifer week of August 12. Missy Reeves begins return appearances later this year. Source: https://x.com/SoapOperaNewss/status/1821241103548608616
  9. https://ew.com/alison-sweeney-returning-to-days-of-our-lives-sami-brady-8691378 A spokesperson for Sweeney told Entertainment Weekly on Tuesday that she is "excited to be back in Salem for a few days." It's unclear how many episodes Sweeney will be on, and a representative for the show didn't immediately respond to EW's request for comment.
  10. Harris Walz rally in Philadelphia live
  11. The Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota, Peggy Flanagan, is Native American, member of the White Earth Band of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe. If Walz takes office as Vice President of the U.S., Flanagan would become governor of Minnesota for the remaining two years of his term. Article about the Minnesota succession procedures in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune: https://archive.is/cfRax
  12. Joe Manchin and Bernie Sanders both pleased with Walz.
  13. They even show it on Steffy's phone as "Dr. Taylor Hayes (Mom)". Pics in this recap of today (August 6) episode https://soapsspoilers.com/bold-and-beautiful/recaps/spoilers-taylor-coming-home
  14. Oh I hadn't thought of that angle. But Farah Fath is a professional gambler. She might very occasionally do a short acting arc but her life is gambling tournaments. Lulu would presumably be a contract role, so that rules out Farah.
  15. tvinsider: “Well, it was definitely an unexpected storyline they pitched me,” she teases. “I have to tell you, of all the ideas, I was pretty shocked.” As a professional and businesswoman, Sweeney knows how to promote her appearances, movies, etc. I respect that. But with DAYS' insanely long tape-to-airdate gap, by the time this airs (whatever it is), will any of it be surprising to viewers?
  16. Yeah it sounds like a guest arc from the TV insider interview -- something she's squeezing in between filming her Hallmark movies. "We always have to figure out scheduling and such, but if at all possible, I’m so glad to make it happen."
  17. The Kamala Harris rally is tonight Tuesday August 9 in North Philadelphia. (Edit: the Harris/Walz rally) The rally is at the Liacouras Center on the grounds of Temple University. 18. The full text of the tweet -- he's doubling down on his anti-vax stance: Robert F. Kennedy Jr @RobertKennedyJr To the Mainstream Media Every time you write "roadkill," I will mention dirty C.I.A. regime-change wars and our $35 trillion debt. Every time you write "barbecued goat," I will invoke normalized government censorship, vanishing topsoil, threatened wilderness, the epidemics of addiction and loneliness, the deaths of despair, and the world’s largest chronic disease burden. Every time you write "vaccine crank,” I will remind you of an industry with a well-documented track record of putting profits before people, an industry with unreliable regulatory oversight, an industry which is one of the most powerful entities in the world. ----------------
  19. from the University of Sheffield news about the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro: https://web.archive.org/web/20160823182954/http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/news/nr/olympic-medal-rio-alumni-1.597944 In a light-hearted reference to her Sheffield studies, Bryony took a good luck memento with her to Rio - a dinosaur lunchbox given to her by her younger brother. During her degree, Bryony wrote a dissertation on the sounds dinosaurs would have made 'or that we think they made': "They probably didn't have the vocal chords to roar like they did in the movies," Bryony explained, but probably squawked or chirped like birds.
