  1. Here's the full text of his tweet (some of which was hidden by the embedding) Joe Biden @JoeBiden My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.
  2. I support Biden. But if the nomination for President goes to Kamala Harris, here is a list of suggestions for her VP: https://www.the-independent.com/news/world/americas/us-politics/kamala-harris-running-mate-biden-drops-out-b2582129.html Of they ones they mentioned, I think only Mark Kelly would have enough universal appeal.
  3. the women's marathon is being staged on the route of the Women's March on Versailles in 1789. (It was a key moment of the French Revolution, with cries of “Liberté, egalité, fraternité!” reverberating around the city.) Notably, the women's marathon and basketball finals – not the men's, as is traditional – will bring these Games to a close. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/article/2024/jul/20/liberte-egalite-fraternite-conflict-looms-large-as-paris-welcomes-world-to-olympics https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women's_March_on_Versailles
  4. FYI: Cwikly and Ford have been fi-core since the 2007-2008 strike. (Link to fi-core list) Ford may have written during the 2023 strike, as she was on the DAYS writing team before and after the strike. But it cannot be confirmed since those 2023 strike episodes were uncredited. No idea if Cwikly or anyone else wrote for DAYS during the 2023 strike, since those episodes were uncredited.
  5. But he didn't specifically say in the interview that he wants a Bristen pairing to happen again. The topic of Bristen came up in the interview because he was asked what scenes he submitted for the Emmys and he described the Bristen scenes and he said he loves working with Stacy. He said Kristen is Brady's cocaine. My impression/interpretation of what I read is that Martsolf knows Bristen is messy and interesting and he's a fan of that.
  6. fyi, Ketty Lester has appeared at the Little House on the Prairie 50th Anniversary reunion events this year.

  10. Republicans ramp up attacks on Kamala Harris amid swirl over Biden future (theguardian) The article focus is that the Republicans and Tr*mp campaign are ramping up these attacks in a two-pronged approach: *both* to attack her as Biden's VP running mate, AND to attack her as a potential replacement candidate for president. I appreciate the way The Guardian frames these attacks as slurs and baseless lies and is clearly pointing out how wrong this is. (Sad that I have to write an appreciation of a news article that doesn't engage in "both-sides-ism", and actually reports that lies are lies, and sexism is sexism, and racism is racism. This shouldn't be unusual!)
